Starling Senior Living

We only used the day care for a few weeks. But my husband enjoyed it and wanted to go back.

The facility smells really nice but they don't always keep up with the bathrooms. Staff are really nice. I think the quality of care at the Grove is as good as it can be considering that the owners who get the money are not the people on site seeing how the caregivers are struggling. I think this is a problem in all nursing homes It's hard to get a call back sometimes from the business office and occasionally from the director My mother's a picky eater and she loves the food With the restricted amount of caregivers it's really hard to have many activities in memory care and both of my parents complain of being bored all the time even though there's music going all the time that's not really their thing Unfortunately the money is what it is and I don't understand why because they don't have enough caregivers but I understand that Florida allows them to have the number they have which goes back to the problem of the parent company not really knowing or caring what's going on inside the memory care but again this is probably a problem with every facility The Grove has worked hard this past year or so to filter out staff with inappropriate behavior towards the residents. This results in staff with more experience and better training and it seems to work well. Staff is also responsive to me as an individual which makes me feel good about communication and other such things.

The Grove has been a great place for my mom- the staff is very caring. My only concern has been that turnover in management has been more frequent than I expected but maybe that is typical with places. My mom is still very happy there. The staff is WONDERFUL. Truly caring. My mom is less involved in the many activities on offer but never misses a Happy Hour. I have 3 friends who moved their parents here because of my recommendations.

The Grove is wonderful. Great staff. Happy caring place. My first contact with rest of staff was watching them play laser-tag with the clients. All of the clients were laughing - weather the clients we're watching or playing!

Trelago is very upbeat, staff and all people there are very friendly. The facility is very clean and the activities are great! It is everything we expected and wanted and we are very happy for our mom.

This place is top notch. Everything was great. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The food was great, good quality and variety. Communication with the family was good. Housekeeping was once a week and they did a great job. We didn't have any experience with the activities, so I can't really rate those. If mom's care needs would not have changed, she would still be here. In fact, I plan on living here myself someday. I would absolutely recommend them to family and friends.

We had a good tour with Starling at San Jose. As far as looks go it was a very nice and clean facility. They were informative and did a great job. Unfortunately they did not have an rooms available at the time so we crossed them off the list.

Right away when my mom first moved in, people were coming up to her and welcoming her. They have groups of residents who serve as ambassadors, whose mission is to help new residents get acquainted. My mom loves the food. She always finds people to sit with. The staff is very, very helpful and friendly. And the cost seems comparable to other places. It has been a great place for my mom.

The staff at The Grove at Trelago work hard to create a strong sense of community. This is my mom's second Independent-living space and she likes it much more than the first one, where she lived for three years.

people that work here are extremely friendly and not everywhere has this. people go out of their way to help us. employees have bent over backwards to be helpful.

the staff is second to none!! this is a very well maintained facility. it is SO clean. the food is comparable to any country club. they have many activities for residents and transportation. I have seen over a dozen senior living communities and none are as good as this one! best in Jacksonville.

We had a very good tour at The Grove at Canopy. The facility was quite new. And I liked that they had considerably fewer memory care beds than other facilities we looked at.

My mom was the first resident of Memory Care at The Grove. Since the day she moved in, we couldn’t be more pleased with her care. [name removed], the Memory Care Director, is caring and compassionate with many years experience in the unique needs of these sweet souls. The nurses and caregiving staff are held to high standards, which are evident in the superior care the residents receive. The residents stay busy with fun activities every day, thanks to the wonderful engagement staff. The food is top-notch and served restaurant style with new menus daily. As family members, we rely on the staff for compassion and care during the ups and downs of the dementia journey. The excellent care of our loved ones has continued despite the many challenges of 2020. Working in memory care is a calling, not just a job, and I am so grateful for the dedication of each member of The Grove family.

We have had an above and beyond experience here at Starling at Nocatee. They offer tons of activities for all of the residents, there is always something for us to do.The activities director here [name removed] is absolutely amazing. She is fun and keeps the spirit up. There is also a pool here which was a big deciding factor because I was having some trouble walking. The apartment sizes here are great, we actually have a full sized kitchen. They feel more like a home. If you are independent, you would love it here. We have not had 1 case of COVID and I think that is due to Carrie the director.

The facility is beautiful and comfortable! We joked with our mother that if we could live there we would since it is so nice! The staff is caring,friendly, and is taking incredible care of our mother! I would highly recommend Starling!

From the sales process to the move in process, everything has been smooth and enjoyable for my Grandmother at Starling. I couldn't be more pleased with her transition and the care she is receiving.
