Changed my moms feelings about facilities

My mom has always disliked hospitals and has been afraid all her life of being put in a home. after a unexpected fall at home medicare covers up to 20 days for rehabilitation. I chose sunny vista at random off a list, and it was the best choice I ever made. It is like a high end resort not a hospital, rooms are large, comfortable and clean, Halls are wide and well lit, the grounds are lovely, food is good even for picky eaters like my mom, and the staff is amazing they helped me with paperwork and walked me through everything step by step, they got my mom back on her feet in 2 weeks, my mom actually wanted to stay longer.

Beautiful facility

From the initial interview, our experience with Capella of Grand Junction has been overall positive and comforting. Our family member requires memory support. The area of the facility dedicated to providing that care is bright, cheerful and attractive. And it is secure with an interior courtyard that is pleasant. The staff is friendly and compassionate. There are activities such as special music events as well as movies, exercise times, and various other things to engage people with one another. The apartments are big enough with good light.

Based on my previous experience, I would recommend The Retreat at Sunny Vista. It's a very nice friendly place and esthetically pleasant. We especially liked that we had access to mom anytime of the day with just a check-in at the front desk. The daily activities were always fun.

Would highly recommend

Great people, the building is one floor and great for any type of physical limitations and all types of services are provided from laundry and housekeeping if needed. They also have local transportation which is very helpful. They have been having all kinds of staffing problems and consistency with the meals and stuff, so just figured a 3 would be an average score on the food. Would highly recommend Capella at Pueblo West.

tour review

Compared to our loved ones previous community, The Retreat at Sunny Vista is a night and day experience. Even though it is not a locked facility, it is locked down at night time and during the day IF someone were to get out they have an alarm system that goes off when doors are opened. We love this place and we just cannot say enough good things about the workers there. The place is beautiful, her apartment is just perfect. The staff are great about keeping an open line of communication. It has truly just been a blessing.

The staff here has been so helpful understanding and accommodating. We feel like mom is being seen and taken care of. They are very welcoming and easy to talk to. They pay attention to each individual and feed them good food too. They make everyone feel like a part of the group.

A Happy Place to LIve

The Retreat is a great place. They provide great care, and it's a great place to live. But you have to stay on top of what's going on. Stay in close contact with the nursing care. They are good about responding when I have questions or concerns. We had a little trouble with one of the nurses, but he's no longer there, and they seem to be resolving any issues. Overall it's a beautiful place, and my family member likes it there.

Just like home

Everything is wonderful here! It has been right from the start. The staff is great and they do an awesome job. They've been great from the beginning. They're very involved and aware of things going on. Housekeeping is often and laundry is weekly and they do a great job. They have a good variety of activities. My loved one's always seem fully content and seem to stay busy. The food is good quality and variety. They're not early risers and tend to miss breakfast in the dining room often. But they are able to have breakfast delivered to them with no problems. I would absolutely recommend this facility to friends and family.

Just Like Home

The Retreat at Sunny Vista is wonderful. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. They were understanding that we had not done anything like this before, and they were fabulous in helping me with things I needed to look for and handle. They did a 30-day adjustment time for my folks where they gave extra time to them and our family to make sure we all were feeling good about it. They've been fabulous - it's like an extended family there. The facility itself is wonderful My mom comments constantly how much they decorate for each holiday. And they involve the residents in it by having them help make decorations or arrange flowers that someone donates every week. And then they set them throughout the facility. They have lots of things like that that make it a goad experience. When they first moved in under Covid restrictions, they couldn't eat in the dining room. But now the dining room is back open, and it has been great. The food is amazing. My mom mom thinks it's wonderful. And they're just being well taken care of.

Our families experience

We're having such a night and day experience compared to our loved ones last community. All the staff from top to bottom - the directors, office staff, day to day staff, receptionist, kitchen staff and the maintenance team have been phenomenal. They always keep us updated and greet us when we come to visit.

Best Well Rounded Assisted Living Area in Colorado Springs in its Price Range

The community is one of the best in the price range in the area. Overall the appearance and quality of the environment was top notch out of the communities I looked at. The meals are not as high quality as they could be for the money we are paying. There could be more diversity of fruits and veggies available for the residents. The Retreat does a better job at providing an all inclusive feel to their pricing.

My review of The Retreat at Sunny Vista

My husband has been at The Retreat/Sunny Vista memory care unit for one month. His admissions & transition into the unit has been smooth & flawless. The staff members are very caring, attentive, & compassionate to him. I continue to be very pleased with communication from numerous departments. I have personally been an R.N. with 45 years of service in hospital areas. Therefore the care my husband is receiving has provided me with wonderful place of mind & comfort.

Overall wonderful

We chose Casey's Pond because it was convenient location to family and they were just so helpful in trying to get everything put together compared to other places that we were looking at. The room sizes were decent for what she was there for and needing. They were excellent with communication, they called 3 times a week to give us an update on her and would try to facetime my grandpa with her. They did a great job trying to give her a variety of foods to get her to eat. I would absolutely recommend to others.

I have already recommended this community to a friend. I really like the place. This is a smaller community, and I like the patio for the memory care residents. When they had music all the residents came and listened in the lobby.
