Bickford Senior Living

Each room is cleaned once a week. I watched the girl "clean" my room- she needs to change the mop water. The dining and shared spaces are clean, they vacuum non stop. The staff were super friendly. I was there 2 weeks and the staff was constantly changing, they were frequently short handed. The director ([Name removed]) recently quit. It was small portions and cheap. But that's probably appropriate for most the residents. I'm 54 and was there for respite, so the meals were a 3. They keep residents busy if they want to participate. And they just hired a new activity director while I was there, and she had fun ideas. Its a small facility, so everyone knows each other - that can be a good or bad thing, depending on what kind of person you are. I saw a resident move out because he couldn't get along with another man, and its hard to avoid each other in that size facility. They all eat in the same room. There is only one lounge area with a tv, etc. BUT because the facility is small, every staff member knows everyone's name and greets them with their name every time. It showed they cared, and you weren't just another resident. They try and encourage and include the residents in all activities. They literally go door to door to check if you "want to join bingo" or if you "are coming to dinner or want a tray in your room?"

The staff has been incredibly attentive, and the room is both comfortable and very clean. The food is excellent, and there are plenty of activities to keep residents engaged-although adding more musical entertainment would be a nice touch. The level of care has been outstanding across the board, from the doctor and nurses to all of the therapists. Everyone works together seamlessly, which truly shows in the quality of care provided. My mom has improved so much in just a few weeks, far beyond how she was when she first arrived. It's clear she's in great hands, and I'm very grateful for the support and dedication of the entire team.

The tour and interaction with i believe[name removed] was exceptional. Every thing was well explained. I would recommend the Bickford Assisted living to anyone that needs a good facility. It was small compared to many. But for myself and my husband that is perfect. He has Alzheimer's and myself anxiety. So to many people overwhelm us both. The staff and clients overall seemed very nice. The facility was wheelchair operational and accessible. The apartment were small but nice. It's family feeling sold me. What was nice The facility and the benefits of being there sold me. I put down a deposit and hopeful we will be there soon.

The facility looks to ran very well. The staff treat the residents with respect and kindness. The Cost is typical for a memory care unit. Only drawback is it is a private payment facility. Once money dries up, you will need to find medicad facility. They have activities to help with Alzheimer's and dementia. I would give them a look if you want to stay in Quincy.

I and friend visited Bickford of Portage on behalf of my cousin [Name removed]. [Names Removed] introduced themselves and they gave a brief overview of the facility and provided us handouts of the types of rooms and activities. Tyler then took us on a tour. The activities they offer are very creative to instill interest in the residents The rooms are adequate in size and functionality. The base costs fell upper-mid-range, compared to four other facilities in Portage. We had no idea of what the costs would be for health supervision until [Name Removed] had an assessment. We are continuing our research and will let [Name removed] know our next step.

Staff really get to know & care about the residents. I absolutely recommend Bickford of Middletown.

All the employees knew his name and greeted him and this was right after he moved in. Very impressed with the food selection and quality. His room was very nice. The place felt homey.

The food is really good and they keep fruit and baked snacks available thru the night. He really likes that mid night treat. 7. Gets a 5. They always have activities there to keep him engaged and sometimes we just enjoy a board game together. 8. Gets a 5. We found exactly what we want and needed at Bickford.

The staff at Bickford are very friendly. Rooms are clean and my mom enjoys her room. She said it's the right size. They have a great kitchen staff also food is restaurant quality. I would recommend them to others who are searching for a place for their loved one.

I was so pleased by the environment and all of the accomplishments on behalf of senior citizens. I look forward to revising again.

All the people that were there greet us by our first name. When we have multiple family members there, they bring a cart with fruit, snacks, and drinks.

I do not know what could have done to make the day to day life any better. Patients were never left alone in their rooms. They either were participating in a group activity or sitting in areas with other people who they could talk to. The staff were super and sincerely cared for their charges. When my wife, Carol, died, her care givers broke down in tears. The food was plentiful and ok.

Seemed to be a very nice place. My only complaint is there was a perfume smell in some areas that bothered my allergies

Staff were "homey" and kind with residents. Space was well organized and not confusing. Worship seemed like an important way for the residents to gather. The space was clean.

Bickford cottage has always been in the back of my mind for assisted living care because my girlfriend had her mom there, and she was so pleased with the attentive care given to her mom that I was impressed, too! The facility in general is well taken care of and very clean compared to the other places I have been involved with because of my husband's Alzheimer's disease. The staff is friendly and caring, and they're not put out when you stop them with a question in between their duties... very helpful people! I highly recommend this place to take care of your special loved one!

Their Montessori approach to engaging dementia patients to the fullest extent possible. Staff was lovely, helpful and kind. Leadership was very effective I. Helping us get our loved moved from 150 miles away just before a snowstorm. Their contracted physician is wonderful as well.

We are so excited about moving our mother into Bickford of Shelby. From the very beginning, our experience has been wonderful. When we toured the community, [name removed], the Executive Director, welcomed us warmly and immediately made us feel at home. She showed genuine interest in our mother—taking the time to learn about her needs, her preferences, and what would make her feel most comfortable and at home. That personal attention meant so much to our family. [name removed] gave us a thorough tour of the residence, and we were truly impressed. The entire community felt inviting, warm, and beautifully maintained. It was clean and well-organized, with a cozy, home-like atmosphere rather than a typical facility feel. We especially loved all the gathering spaces where residents were spending time together. We feel confident that she will not only be well cared for, but that she will also truly feel at home.

The Midland Bickford residence is a very nice place. The coordinator was very professional and answered all of our questions on how they would care for our aunt. The facility was well taken care of. The only thing that we didn’t care for was that the dining room / recreation room was immediately as you walk in the main door. It is still on our list of a possible location for her to live.

[name removed] is absolutely wonderful! So full of information and insight. Bickford seems like a great community of friends and staff.

It's an excellent facility. The food is good, the facility is clean, and overall smells good. They were very helpful answering questions although some information was miscommunicated. The staff is helpful and has been trying to really do a good job.
