Wonderful facility for the Next Life Stage.

First, we were contacted by [name removed] with Longevity and she was involved in every step of the process. She was a dream to work with and really set the bar when talking with my mother. Secondly, the staff always greets everyone in the hallway and stop in to make sure everything is going well. My mother has no qualms in asking for assistance and everyone responds in a very respectful manner.

She's so happy at her new home.

The staff are friendly and attentive. They know every resident's name. Activities - 3, because they really (the residents) can't pay attention to do any type of arts and crafts. Food is WAY better than I would have ever guessed. Dining itself is super quiet. Room size is great!

The Reserve is just what my mother needed!

Overall: I am very pleased with The Reserve in Oswego, the staff is wonderful, the facility is lovely and my mom is very well cared for. Cleanliness: the entire facility is clean and nicely and safely decorated. Friendliness: every staff member is friendly , kind to my mom and very helpful. Quality of care: this facility has a great staff to patient ratio, nursing 24/7 and a patient forward schedule. Providers, PT/ST and immunizations are all coordinated by the staff and performed at the facility. Admin: these people are the best! They know every patient and most family members by name, are readily available by phone or text even on weekends. Food: they have good variety on their menu, my mother has had difficulty with textures and they have tried several creative solutions. Activities: days are carefully structured with options for patients at varying levels. Family is encouraged to participate! 5 Total Cost: a bit more expensive but worth every penny. Their level of coverage is far better than the majority of AL facilities

Helpful and attentive

They are so kind and she was happy there. They paid attention to the residents and called them by name and talked to them one on one. They didn't yell at someone was not wanting to do what they needed to do. The nurse's seemed to be very helpful and attentive to them called them by there name. Gave them medicine very gentle. Everyone there talked to them like a person and with respect and kindness. I do think they need a little bit more activities.

Excellent facility

I would rate everything as excellent, especially the care my father-in-law receives every day. They take the time to learn the likes and dislikes of each resident. I never had to contact anyone else while looking, we knew Cedarhurst was the right choice.

Review for The Reserve at Oswego

We had looked at several places and liked how friendly they were, and they did not pressure us. In fact they came to meet my aunt at her house, before she even went there. We have keys to come in whenever we want, she is very comfortable with all the staff and has new friends. With many memory care facilities, they have them wear a necklace that would set off alarms if they opened the doors. We knew she would never keep it on. We really like how they operate. The Resevere also does things with the local community - like yesterday's St. Patrick's Day Party opened to Oswego Seniors and, of course, and family members, too. There was over 150 people there. Resident enjoyed singing and dancing and the delicious corned beef sandwiches. The staff all worked together to make it a very special day. Down to giving all the ladies Irish curls for the party, and everyone had their best green outfits on. We highly recommend this place, the Reserve and the staff has become a part of our family.

It takes special people to take care of those who need it most!

While searching for the best fit for our loved one, it was extremely important to us that he would be in a place that could manage the rapid decline in cognition that we had experienced for the prior year. The Reserve was that place for us. We did a few drop-ins prior to signing up, and we were very impressed with how accomodating [name removed] and the entire staff was while we toured the facility. The folks who were living there seemed very content and followed the programs of the day relatively seamlessly. We admitted [name removed] to the program, and in the short time he was there, he was content and seemed to fit in well with the group. We appreciate all of the care from the entire staff during [name removed] stay at this facility. His stay was short, as he fell sick and ultimately passed. We are grateful for [name removed] and the staff, as they always handled things professionally and with care. It was endearing to see the motivation they share to take care of folks who need it the most!

Overall loved one is happy living there

With the friendliness of the staff, there are a few staff that are not as friendly. They have a lot of turn over with CNA's for the afternoon shift. I've also been hearing about residence getting out at night a few times lately. The alarms are not always working or turned on. That's what I've heard from other families. It's a nice community that could use some improvements, the courtyards could use a good cleaning or sprucing up.

My Brother

My brother has been a resident at the Reserve of Oswego for a little over a month. My experience has been very favorable during his stay. I think he is treated very well. My brother tells me the meals are tasty and nutritious. They keep the residents very busy with games, crafts and visiting with each other. I also like that family members are welcome to take part in the activities.

The move.

After moving my father from one rehabilitation center to the Reserve we learned that all Nursing Homes aren’t the same. My family is relieved at the attention my father is getting and how they keep the patients active. The professional care he is receiving now seems like family that really cares about him. Thank you to all of the people at the Reserve for making him feel welcome.

The Reserve of Oswego

While her stay was not the longest, it was the right place for my friend in her final days. When my friend moved to The Reserve the staff and residents made her feel very welcomed. The activities that are conducted are all meaningful, fun and important for the residents. Meals are well planned out and tasty. The entire facility is spotless and very well kept. The staff, from the CNA team, to the nursing staff to the kitchen folks and on yo the management team are all top notch, professional, compassionate and well prepared. I highly recommend The Reserve of Oswego for your consideration for your loved ones care.

Review for Cedarhurst of Granite City

It's always very clean and neat and very quiet. They usually respond promptlyThere are many things that are great about this place - most of the staff are very sweet and kind and go out of their way to help the residents. I know we were led to believe that there would be lots of activities to participate in, and there aren't. I think that was my loved ones biggest disappointment.

Great place for Grandma

Cedarhurst has been a wonderful place for my grandma. The love and care that they provide for her has been amazing. [name removed] and [name removed] organize some fun activities that keep her active. She really loves the singers that come out and playing bingo. They provide full services so there’s no need for grandma to go out to get her hair done or wait in line at a clinic to get her blood drawn.
