Choosing The Reserve at First Colony was an easy decision for us. Four friends had already done the leg work comparing local assisted living and memory care facilities in Sugar Land. All four concluded that The Reserve at First Colony was the best fit for their mothers. Giving up her home in Arizona, her friends and her church was gut-wrenching for Mom. It took several months of adjustment. Now, Mom is thankful for the thoughtful leadership, attentive care givers, planned activities and camaraderie of the community. The size of the facility is perfect. The single-story layout is easy to navigate. No steps or elevators! Three dietician-planned, chef-prepared meals are served in the sumptuous dining room flanked by two courtyards. Mom enjoys getting her hair done in the salon. She attends church services there. On-site physical and occupational therapy, along with daily exercise help keep her mobile. Ongoing improvements to the facility will ensure that it continues to be a top choice.

The meals are better during the week and the activities are improving. Facility is very nice with friendly, helpful staff. My sister who is very picky was very impressed with the facility. The maintenance man is wonderful about fixing any issues quickly.

Nobody wants to go into assisted living or memory care.My mom had hard time adjusting to the change but has adjusted much better and quicker than expected.Your people are caring and compassionate and great at what they do and the quality of care they give everyone there.May God bless you all very much.

Overall, we are very happy with the reserve at Katy. The staff is friendly, and treat my mother like part of the family. For our individual situation it puts a financial stress on us, but that would be the same at any facility. Overall, every time I visit my mother I'm grateful for the reserve and their staff!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Reserve at First Colony, and I can confidently say it's a fantastic place to call home. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the beautiful landscaping and well-maintained grounds that create a welcoming atmosphere. The amenities are top-notch, featuring a cozy lounge area perfect for relaxing or socializing with neighbors. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, always going above and beyond to ensure residents feel valued and supported. The apartments themselves are spacious, modern, and filled with natural light. I particularly love the open floor plans and stylish finishes that make each unit feel like a personal retreat. Plus, the location is unbeatable! It’s close to shopping, dining, and parks, making it easy to enjoy everything the area has to offer.

Reserve at First Colony is a good place that feels like home. There have been quite a few changes in the staff. The care all depends on the shift and the lead. It is improving under the new director and there have been a lot of changes in the caregivers.

The Reserve is such a warm, welcoming community. [name removed] worked with us to make the transition go well for my father. The entire staff was friendly and respectful of our time with our loved one. The new local owners are working to update all aspects of the facility. I promise - You will not be disappointed with the care that your loved one will receive at The Reserve!!!

The receptionists are so friendly and kind. The Director walked along side me as I was making some difficult decisions. It was greatly appreciated. There are delays in getting medical appointments made. Need lots of follow up. I know that she is well cared for and that is what is most important to me.

I met with the director of sales and leasing for a tour and was very impressed. I have been looking for the perfect place to move my mom in the next year and this visit left me with such relief and optimism for our future. My mom loves the Nebraska cornhuskers so I was excited to see that they have a room dedicated to the Huskers! The Director of Leasing was so kind and answered my long list of questions. She even had a cup of coffee ready for me when I arrived! She really showed that she cared about my mom's well-being and wanted to know us on a personal level. I didn't feel like I was being "sold" an apartment like I have felt on other tours. I really recommend that everyone experience this for themselves! Thank you so much for all of your help and kindness!

Everyone here is so friendly and treats me well. I felt welcomed by the community since the 1st night I moved in. If I ever have an issue then it is quickly resolved. I really enjoy being here.

The Reserves at Katy went above and beyond to take care of my brother. It is a loving and caring place. I would recommend this facility to others.

[name removed] has been invaluable to me. I toured the facility several months ago. My dad was in a different facility halfway across the state. I was not ready when I did the tour to move him yet but she checked in over the months to see how he and I were doing. THAT is above and beyond. My dad was asked (told) to leave his facility and Sarah worked nonstop to help me get him moved. She called in favors and found different ways that she could help. We would speak at all hours of the night and early in the morning. She wouldn't give up and didn't let me either. The facility itself is beautiful and spacious. It doesn't smell like urine and feces like the previous facility. The rooms are nice and clean. The staff that I have met so far are super friendly and smile a lot. It is refreshing to see people that care about their job and residents. It is his first day there and they are very accommodating to help him adjust. He has dementia/Alzheimer's so he is confused but they are helping with that.

Changed management company recently and is planning on closing the facility to any outside physicians and nurses effective [date removed]. Residents will either have to use the geriatric team they are bringing in or you will have to take your loved one out to see anyone else. Not comfortable with this situation

There were a few kinks at first, but they were all ironed out early after we moved in. The staff are very accommodating to my mom's needs, and she now calls The Reserve home.

It was a short stay of less than a month for my friend, but we were very pleased with everything. Everyone was so kind. Mr. [name removed] said it was the nicest place he has ever lived. Therapy was awesome!

Everyone is very kind, helpful, and respectful, and offer the dignity deserved by the elders, near end of life - as well as to families. It's only been less than three months, but, the food is definitely nutritious and tasty (not frozen, reheated etc!) Their advertisements are genuine and true. Everyone seems to be genuinely professional, knowledgeable & caring. Nice, clean, well-maintained rooms & facility. Unfortunately laundry seems to be a problem at every facility. But everything else is great! So far I would most definitely recommend to anyone for loved ones in memory care. I am so grateful and appreciative of everything having to do with The Courtyards.
