[name removed] was amazing! She had answers to all my questions. Very well educated! Home was beautiful and clean. Smelled like a flower. The staff was very encouraging to residents to engage in activities. Thanks for a great experience.

My wife is a resident there and receives the best care. The workers are wonderful and they all make sure she is well cared for. This is all lead by [name removed] who makes sure everything is running smoothly. Our family couldn’t be happier.

My mom loves it there! The workers ([names removed] just to name a few ) are absolutely wonderful. They are knowledgeable, caring, reliable and fun!! They have definitely made the transition for our family easier. I can’t imagine getting better care anywhere else!

This memory care facility is truly special. The staff are kind, patient, and genuinely loving towards the residents. The home-cooked meals add a comforting, personal touch, and families are always made to feel welcome and included. Knowing our mom is cared for with such compassion gives us great peace of mind.

The place is kept extremely clean. No urine smell like other places. Their food leaves a lot to be desired. There sometimes no rhyme or reason for what they fix. Pop tarts or cereal bars with fruit for breakfast other days they make fresh pancakes and sausage. Not sure how they plan meals. They do take good care of patients but sometimes especially at night they seem short staffed.

The staff has been fantastic since my grandmother moved in six months ago. The building is beautiful and well kept. As difficult as this process has been, this part of it has been very pleasant. I'm happy if nonna is happy!!

The main reason we chose Arbor Rose of Monicello was because of the family atmosphere. I would tell others looking into any facility to make sure and look for the care that is received, and not just all of the perks.

All staff members are very kind and care about the residents. The food is good home cooking and the facility and rooms are kept clean. I highly recommend Avonlea Cottage to others.

I have a family member that lives at Avonlea of Sterling and she loves it. Its very 'home-like', when having dinner (the food is amazing) it's like sitting at your kitchen table at home. When visiting all the staff says hello and are very friendly. They are attentive to the seniors that live there. The rooms are pretty nice and many things to do there. I am so happy she's there!

This community has been wonderful for our family, it has a very homey atmosphere to it that gives these residents the familiarity of home. Every single Sunday they have homemade fried chicken and mashed potatoes and every single meal is homecooked. The families are always encouraged to come and join their loved ones for meal time. They have a living room with a TV, a dining room with nice place sets, and the entire back half of the community is full of things for activities and other TV with recliners. We would recommend to other families based on the experience we have had.

We love Arbor Rose It's truly a home-like atmosphere. They make you feel like family. And they're taking great care of my mom. It's a much better place than where she was before.

Quite a different feel to it. More security to it. It was very busy.

We think it's great. Going through this is very hard, but they make it very easy for you. They work with you and tell you every step as you go, and they make it as easy as possible. My mom is very happy with the food. They have plenty of activities. For Halloween, they invited kids to come in in their costumes, and they had some Christmas activities. They do a lot of things to get the residents up and out of their rooms. It's expensive, but I think it's a good value.

We chose Arbor Rose of Monticello because the location was good, we liked the way that the facility looked, and the staff were very friendly. The price was also a big factor for us. The staff were very helpful and worked with us as much as possible and were great with communication. We were very pleased with our experience and I would recommend to others.

Our mother has flourished under the care she has received at Avonlea. Mom has a lot of needs—loss of memory, breathing difficulties, broken hip—but has received patient and always loving care from the staff at Avonlea. Additionally, we appreciate that a physician visits twice monthly to monitor her health and identify any medical needs. During the Covid shutdown, Avonlea worked with us as a family to continue visits with Mom through FaceTime and “door visits,” all of which have been critical to keeping her spirits and health up during a difficult time. Avonlea has also navigated the danger of Covid spreading in a responsible way, testing when it seems appropriate and acting promptly when an issue arises. All in all, our family could not ask for better care for our mother and are grateful for the thoughtful guidance of [names removed] and loving care of the staff. Great facility! Cozy and clean. Nurses keep family up date

My friend has lived at Shepherd Premier Senior Living for 3 months. A small boutique center where she is well cared for. Private, clean rooms, attentive staff, meals prepared by staff. They respond to her needs, and to my phone calls and visits. She has physical and occupational therapy from home health agency ordered by doctor of facility. This has improved her ability immensely.

I've known the Shepherd team for years and seen the work they've done in their other beautiful, assisted living homes in Harvard and Ringwood. And their Gurnee home is every bit as lovely. I recently took a tour and was so impressed with the layout, the homey feel and all the little touches they have with their decor and the way they make residents feel like they're still at home. I've visited many senior living places (both my wife and I work do work inside the industry) and Shepherd is one of the most resident-center places I've seen.

[Removed] was very welcoming and Avonlea Cottage was clean and inviting. I think that this is a top contender for my father.
