Serene Gardens

Serene Gardens of Imlay City is a wonderful facility. The staff have been extremely friendly and helpful whenever we have needed something. It is a very nice place that I would definitely recommend to other families looking for care for a loved one.

The murals on the wall made it feel peaceful and warm, the staff was very attentive and caring it was a challenge for mom as she had dementia and didn't want to leave her home at [community removed]

I have met with [name removed] on 3 separate occasions. She is wonderful as well as her CNA [name removed]. [name removed] takes enormous pride in this facility. I know of others that have their loved ones there and they are pleased. My dear friend I’m privileged to care for is being transferred there and I have no doubt that this will be a warm loving and caring environment!

The staff is very nice to us. Always ready to answer a question. They are super patient with my mom. Laundry is always done and she and her room are always sparkling.

From the moment I walked into the facility I knew this was the right place for my mom. All of the staff takes great care of her and the food is excellent. Caring, clean, and a variety of activities.

What we like the most about Grainhouse Grove is the consistency of care. Good food and snacks. Activities and accommodations. Clean facilities and open areas.

I couldn't have asked for better care for my Grandma! Everyone was lovely and made my Grandma feel comfortable and taken care of.

The staff works to know the residents personally and ensures their environment stays clean and dignified. They have the training and tools to do a superior job with providing care.

It's a smaller facility which is perfect for my Dad. The place is always clean. Fellow residents are wonderful, kind and caring people. Staff are outstanding. I haven't encountered anyone yet who doesn't put effort into their job and care about all of the residents. My Dad does not like the food, and I've heard other residents complain as well. The meals appear nutritious and balanced to me but I have not tasted them so cannot vouch for flavor (I know my dad's taste buds may not be what they used to be). Staff are happy to make substitutions for residents that may not like something that is being served. Apartment is a studio. Although Dad would probably prefer an apartment with a separate bedroom, there seems to be adequate space for his needs. They offer daily afternoon activity/game which are well attended.

Viewed at least five different residences for placement of my sister. Serene Gardens of Sterling Heights was far above the rest. It just doesn't look good, the promises made have been kept. She has her own private room with private bathroom, dining area is large and filled with light and the food is good. Tons of activities every day for her to choose from. Anything from bingo to going to a restaurant to taking a bus ride through town. Executive director [name removed] is absolutely amazing. There was of course in transition in the beginning, [name removed] was always at the ready, very communicative, receptive, and even if changes couldn't take place, she explained the reasoning why and still listen to our concerns. Cannot recommend this place enough.

My mother is in the memory care side of Serene Gardens, having started out on the other side. Both sides are clean, nicely decorated, and secure. They share an executive director, who is a warm and wonderful woman, and a health and wellness director, who also obviously cares for the residents. They both help when my mother is refusing to take a shower. She can be so obstinate at times, but I fully trust that no one there is ever cruel to her. As for the aides, some are great and some are not, but every time I visit, she is clean and dressed. She says the food is good. They get real food, like oatmeal, pancakes or scrambled eggs, not dry cereal, as in some other more expensive places. The activities are well-suited for those with cognitive impairment. They play bingo, use pool noodles to bat balloons around, bring dogs in to pet, and have a worship service every Tuesday. You can pay $[removed]a month for a "better" facility, but you will not find better management anywhere.

The Wellness Coordinator is wonderful. You can contact her and the director at anytime via text. They WILL get back to you ASAP. Great communication.

I have found Setene Gardens of Grand Blanc an amazing facility. My mom is in Memory Care. Her transition has been so rapid. Less than a year ago she was living by herself and driving. The staff at SG and Absolute Hospice has been so wonderful with everything we’ve gone through.

The woodlands is a small homey type atmosphere. Staff is friendly and give care to patients that is respectful. There are activities for the residents. They keep them busy.

I would absolutely, on a scale of 1-5, give them a 10. BROOKDALE OF BAY CITY OUTSHINES EVERY OTHER IN THE ARE AS FAR AS MEMORY CARE AND DEMENTIA!!!!!! The people who work there are all trained to some degree in working with dementia and how to deal with the symptoms that come with it, including anger and escaping. [name removed], who is the one that got us in there and basically saved my mom's life, was a nurse herself. She works directly with everyone in memory care and the hospice team. They all genuinely care about every patient. They go above and beyond. Can't say enough about this team at Brookedale.

The care of my mother by the staff while in hospice was professional & loving! Also a very clean place! We would absolutely recommend Covenant Glen of Frankenmuth to other families based on the experience so far.

First impression walking in the door was that Brookdale was more "homey" than other facilities we visited that were more "institutional/clinical". The only "bad" thing I could think of....not that it's necessarily "bad" is that there's no "system" for visitors. I.e. you just walk in and go visit - there's no one to stop you/ask you to sign in, or ask questions.

After our 100 year old mother fell, we were forced to make a quick decision on where to place her for assisted living. After touring a few facilities, we found Brookdale to be the best fit. The location is warm and inviting. The staff friendly and forthcoming. We feel that the decision we made was a good one and thank "A Place for Mom" for the referral.

From his first day there. [name removed] and the staff welcomed him. They had visitors come in whom he had worked with at Kellogg. He has quickly developed friendships and so have we. He has gotten much better physically and mentally with daily contact and socialization.
