I find the staff to be accommodating and compassionate. Mom would say the room could be larger, the food could be better, and activities could be better. But she would say that about ANY facility. I think that under the circumstances of needing to please everyone, that they do a pretty good job.

My mother has extreme dementia to the point where being at home with my dad became no longer feasible. If you are reading this you probably know what I’m talking about. The people at Chestnut Ridge Wallingford take fantastic care of Mom, treat her with dignity and are more attentive than I would have ever imagined. The bottom line is these people truly care about their patients and their families.

The management and staff are very professional and interact well with all the residents. Facility is always very clean. Apartments - independent care provide a number of size options. Apartments are cleaned once a week for the residents and once a month when furniture is pulled out for a deeper clean. Dining - there are two dining rooms. One for independent care only and one for the three types of cares combined. For breakfast and lunch there is a bistro on the first floor. Food is very good. Before coming to the facility, they provide a questionnaire so that the chef knows the type of foods the resident likes. Activities - there are numerous activities during the month. Summer social gatherings, church or religious services, crafts, movies in their theater. The staff is absolutely phenomenal. They are always there for the residents. Besides the staff, there are a group of residents that welcome new people to Fitz Farm. My sister is now a resident at Fitz. She is very happy. Our family was very pleased with the initial tour of The Residence at Fitz Farms, the application process and finally finding Fitz Farms to be the perfect place for our family member.

This facility is very welcoming, friendly, clean, and respectful I have a resident there and they make sure they cater to her needs they also make sure that every resident is involved in activities and just so joyful no matter what time of the day it is

I like living here, it's clean, and the apartments are large. I have been living here for 3 years and this is my final place that I call home. I like how quiet it is, nice environment. The residents are nice too.

This is really a nice place and the staff is always helpful and friendly. The nurses are good at keeping us updated with any changes or concerns of our love one. The place has always been clean from I have observed. My love one likes it there and loves the food and desserts. I would recommend this place to others.

Everyone at The Residence is kind and friendly. I always feel my sister is being very well taken care of.

Very helpful caring and competent. Juniper village called me a couple of weeks ago and said they had an opening. I believe they are very good. My response was that the place where she is is very good and at this point I would not move her. They are truly excellent

I visited a friend last week. The facility is beautiful and clean. The staff is friendly. Caregivers are ok. The main boss has a wonderful, caring spirit and extremely knowledgeable. My family member is happy here.

5's across the board. We really don't think we could find a better place for mom. We've never been displeased or even just disappointed or mildly uncomfortable with the treatment/care she's receiving. My mom-in-law's journey through dementia has been a terrible experience for everyone involved. She's irritable, moody, often violent and destructive, and yet she is always spoken to and about with such dignity at New Haven. Their patience and kindness is unmatched.

I love everything about Chestnut Ridge Wallingford! I have been here almost 6 years would highly recommend! I have made friends including staff and residents. The community is nice and clean and we are a family here.

[name removed] at Chestnut Ridge Wallingford was extremely welcoming and helpful once we decided our family member would be transferred to that senior care center. The nursing staff at CRW has been very helpful and patient once the transfer took place. Our family member is now adjusting nicely and making progress in PT!

Overall experience has been great and would rate every aspect as great. I would absolutely recommend them to others who are searching for a place for their loved one.

I was visiting Bedford from out of state on a writing assignment and stopped into a small downtown coffee shop. What I witnessed there ended up being more memorable than my work for the day. At a nearby table sat a group of women with a young gentleman whose kindness immediately stood out. He grabbed napkins and drinks, pulled up a chair, and spent nearly an hour listening to their stories and talking about future plans, including an upcoming pizza trip up a local mountain (forgive me, I’m not from here). After speaking with him, I learned he is the Activity Director at Colonial Courtyard and it made perfect sense. His warmth, patience, and genuine care were impossible to miss. Nothing felt rushed or forced; he simply showed up fully for the people with him. As a writer, I notice how people treat others when they think no one is watching. Colonial Courtyard is incredibly lucky to have someone like him, and if this moment reflects their culture, their residents are in very good hands

Mom has adjusted well to her new home. Moving in was pretty easy and the place is easy to move around. The staff has been very helpful and kind. There are always people around to help. I love the fireplace when you first walk in. The food is good!

It is a very friendly community and they work with each resident to make sure they feel comfortable. Food is good but not great. I would recommend. My uncle is very happy there. One other thing. It is a very tight knit community and the residents really encourage and support one another.

My 90 yo mother was a resident in memory care for the last 22 months of her life. The facility is bright and clean with lots of windows and a bird display in every area. (It is not one of many grim, gray facilies). The outstanding feature is the staff. Care assistants conduct bible study, do hair care, clean and assist residents, often going above and beyond. Nursing staff is attentive and understanding (thanks, [name removed]!) and communicates to the unit staff. The front desk staff is warm and welcoming. Families should be proactive about visiting and keeping in touch. The administrative staff is motivated to keep beds full, but also listens to the needs of families. They make an effort to understand the life stories of residents before they became needy, disabled or infirm. I heard a manger remind staff of how important one resident was in the community before they had dementia. Preserving dignity is a priority.

I had a wonderful experience with The Residence at Presque Isle Bay in Erie, PA. I recently did work in the building and was genuinely impressed by the atmosphere and the community. The residents all appeared happy, engaged, and truly enjoying their time there. This, in my opinion, speaks volumes about the care they receive. The meals looked fantastic and honestly, food I would be excited to eat myself. The staff and overall environment felt warm, welcoming, and well cared for. I wanted to jump right in when they were playing what looked to be Volleyball with a balloon. Based on what I observed, this is absolutely a place I would feel comfortable and confident placing my own mom when the day comes. I would highly recommend The Residence at Presque Isle Bay to anyone looking for a personal care home that truly feels like a community.
