Great Place to Bring a loved one

I cant begin to tell how wonderful this Community is. There was a change over in Management last year and boy have things IMPROVED. The director is Wonderful, she is caring, understanding and compassionate about what she does. She is always willing to listen and help figure out a solution. The Staff here are just as great! They are easy to talk to, they listen when you are having concerns about your loved one or just need someone to talk to. Alzheimer's isn't easy to watch your loved one go through... They are very good with handling difficult situations, they remain calm and collect and I believe that is so important when working in this field. As far as the building goes, I have been here multiple times and its always clean always smells good. The food is beyond average. I love that the meals are home cooked meals. My family really appreciates a good homecooked meal as Mom was the best at that. I wish I could give a 10 Star review. Definitely worth it!

friendly staff

When our loved one first moved in to Care Partners/Country Terrace they were welcomed with open arms. The staff members took her around to all the residents and introduced her which was a huge plus. Based on the experience we have had so far we would recommend them to other families.

Such Loving Care

My mom was a resident here for several years. The staff is so caring and attentive. They treat the people like family, get to know them, and cater to the individual. I was apprehensive about moving mom to assisted living, but the need was there. The facility loved her and treated her with compassion and humor.

Our Experience with Care Partners Assisted Living-Spooner

It's hard to comment when we've not able to go into the building. But they've been great so far. We had a little bit of an issue with insurance paperwork, but they got it resolved. I like the convenient location. I believe they are allowing outside visiting now, which is good. Sometimes communication from the director doesn't happen, most likely because she's travelling doing lots of trainings, but her assistant is great. And the assistant is starting to have a larger role, so that should resolve. But overall we're pleased with the care our loved one is receiving.

Sister Loves it here

This community is wonderful to my sister and are treating her very well. She is a high functioning early onset for alzheimer's. So still very active and the staff helps keep her busy. Like the other night she baked a cake and frosted it for their desserts. It is a clean community and the kitchen is spotless. They have a wonderful activity director she'll take my sister out in public to pick up craft items. She enjoys the music entertainment also. What wonderful food they feed them excellently. This is where my sister can afford and can be comfortable. I would recommend this to friends or family.

Nice Respite Stay

My mother was here for a respite stay, so she was there for about a month. I feel they did a good job caring for her. Everything looked nice and clean, and someone came and cleaned her room. There was always some type of activity when I went to visit her. She liked the food, and the meals are very nice. I would recommend it, because it was a nice experience.

Good, Friendly Staff But Needs Work on Meals and Cleanliness

The staff is friendly, but as far as the food goes it isn't well balanced. The cleanliness is something they need to improve on in the resident's rooms. The staff communication is very receptive. I wish the staff were more proactive, instead of the family bringing up concerns.

Seemed ok-All was neat and clean, but I had to hunt up a member of staff, even though they knew we were coming at 1 pm. One was out front talking on her phone, and the other was out back having a cigarette, talking on her phone. :/

Spooner VitaCare has issues

The management company doesn't care about the employees. It doesn't feel likes a safe environment when they are providing medication. Since they are one of the major providers in the area, I wonder if the other communities are in the same shape They have been consistently short staffed and employees are consistently working 12 to 16 hour shifts. The house manager quit after working 24 hours and was asked to work another 6 hours. The management company, Cornerstone, does not care.

Depressing atmosphere!!

The biggest issue i had with this community was how unhappy and depressed all of the residents looked. Nobody was smiling or really having an kind of interaction with each other when i had taken my tour and that is just not the kind of environment I would want my mother to be in.

Review for VitaCare Living in Spooner II

Do not use this community. It's the worst. I don't recommend this place but unfortunately, it's the only option up there. The same company has facilities in surrounding cities and I can't imagine they are any better. The management company overworks the staff and they are a revolving door of people that want to do a good job but can't sustain consistently working 12 to 16 hour days. Often one person is working in the facility to provide support, cook, clean and administer medication. Working that many hours puts a risk of being tired and making mistakes.
