Review for Emerald Ridge of Neenah

We picked this community because my sister liked it. Simple and not stuffy or arrogant. I would recommend it. A Place for Mom was great. It was because of this site that we were able to find a comfortable, affordable place and move in quickly. Unfortunately my sister passed after only 2 months. She was very satisfied and happy here. She especially loved the Christmas lights adventure and making Christmas crafts. Maybe making some traditional Christmas cutout cookies would have nice. At least to frost. It would have brought back great memories for many. She did speak of having more adventures other than bingo . More social events would have been wonderful.

I have lived here for three and a half years. It is a wonderful home. It is not so big that you can get lost or too small that you are with the same people all the time.

My mom is Thriving at Emerald Ridge

My mom is thriving here. She talks about the care that she gets from the staff. She talks about the food and says that she likes it. She gets very personalized care because of the size of the facility. The exercise is lower and I feel that they may could do a little more but it is overall still a great community.

Clean and Well-Maintained

Things have been working out very well for me at Emerald Ridge. The location is good, and I enjoy the rooms here and the layout of the community. I feel the place is just the right size, it's clean and well-maintained, and I feel very comfortable here. The staff is very pleasant and eager to please, the food is really good, and I feel there is no way anyone can go hungry here. I would certainly recommend this community to others.

A great place for our respite needs.

The staff, especially the "on boarding" admin person was extremely welcoming, and put mom at ease right away. Mom indicated she enjoyed the stay there (we had done the two week respite) very much.

Dad was happy here

My dad was only here 2 weeks before he passed. But this community was very nice and always clean. We meet with the dietician to see what my dad's likes and dislikes were or if he had any allergies. The staff was always friendly. They even tried to figure out his needs to better to care for him correctly and the way he needed. They said dad had a great sense of humor so they would joke with him and have a good time with him. They took the time to learn how to move him correctly because he had lots of pain. The level of care was very good. The manager was always nice and polite. I would recommend this community.

This was just larger than we wanted.

This was just larger than we wanted. It was nice and everything, but we felt that it would be hard for our loved one to navigate, we would have to pay more to have an escort to the dinning area. For us that is just too big.

Fine but wish it was better

ER means well, but needs some boost with activities and food quality. There seems to be too much down time, and residents are not encouraged to get out and join in activities. There does not seem to be any help in acquainting people to one another and help building relationships. They could do with less Bingo and more stimulating interactive activities. The staff is kind and caring which is great. Administration seems a bit stand-offish and stressed. Food is subpar, and does not seem to have consistent people preparing. Organization about when and how things take place are confusing.

Poor bordering on unethical

My dad’s apartment was rarely cleaned because they claimed he was to irritated when they attempted it. He had dementia, but apparently employees there did not know how to deal with him. Is that not what they are trained to do? They left him alone in his room all day. Would leave his food tray on the kitchen table and pick it up when he was done. That was the extent of the “activities” they engaged in with him. My dad paid a lot of money for a list of services he never received. This place appears to be interested in money; once they get it, their initial, feigned interest is all but gone. I don’t recommend this place to anyone who wants their loved ones cared for in a meaningful way.
