Great place for memory care, assisted or Independent

Moved my parents to independent living but within the week my mom needed to be in memory care. The staff was very supportive in the move and helping us transition. My dad continues to stay in Indep living while my mom is in memory care. The staff that helps my mom have been wonderful. I’m happy to know she is safe and happy. My dad is also very happy that they made the move there even though change was hard. Would highly recommend seeing Meadowview of Johnston.

At Meadowview Johnston You're Home

Meadowview Johnston is obviously a beautiful facility. Of far greater importance however is the atmosphere within. From the moment one enters, one senses of feeling of warmth and friendliness, an atmosphere created by an incredible staff starting with the director, [name removed], and continuing throughout the rest. This does not feel like an institution. Instead, It Feels Like Home, a feeling voiced by so many of the residents who live there. I doubt one can find a better place to call home

Great Choice for My Mother

My mother has lived at Meadowview of Johnston for 6 months. This facility has been a great choice for her. The facility is on the smaller side, so she doesn't feel so overwhelmed. I like knowing that even though she's in independent living, staff are watching out for her and there are systems in place to keep her safe. Mom's apartment is the right size for her. Her one-bedroom unit with a generous closet and laundry space makes her feel like she can have enough of the items from her larger house with her. It's taken awhile, but Mom is starting to enjoy the activities. There is something to do every morning and afternoon with enough variety that she can find something that appeals to her even though she's introverted. A big selling point for both my mother and me is that she will be able to stay in place when she needs to upgrade to assisted living services. The price is very reasonable for the services provided. An assisted living facility with an independent level is rare.

Very friendly, clean and welcoming!

Meadowview is a very nice place. All the people there went out of there way to welcome my parents and get to know them. There are lots of fun activities for residents and their families throughout the month. An incredibly caring place and they always knew me too, as their daughter who would come visit. They would give me updates or just chat.

a great place for loved ones so happy we found Governors Glen

Governors Glen has been an amazing experience so far, we feel that the staff members are wonderful and extremely friendly. The director is fantastic and the activities coordinator is amazing. We have had nothing but great things to say about their staff team. We love the way the community is set up, its laid out beautifully - there is a screened in porch with a courtyard the residents can go outside and relax in. We would absolutely recommend this community to other families.

Wish we had found them sooner in our assisted living care journey!

My loved one has been through several places, and Governors Glen is the cleanest I've seen. I like that the person who created it did so for his parents, so it's well thought out, and a lot of love goes into the facility. The care has been really great, and you can tell the staff and the residents really enjoy themselves. They have activities going on all the time. We've had no issues - this is basically the perfect place. I just wish we could have chosen them first! It is more expensive, but I understand why.

Highly recommend

We had a great experience with Governor's Glen Memory care. My mom never complained about the food, they were very nutritious and they were really good about portion sizes and snack in between meals. While we were here there was a great activities director, she had very interesting activities and always kept the residents engaged. The staff were always very supportive and accommodating with anything we needed.

It's a Good Place to Take Your Loved One

I was able to leave my loved one for five days for a break. They had different activities for each day that he was there. I would recommend it. I tried to visit a second time, and when I called to see if they had availability and they didn't have room for him. There isn't a lot of traffic, the setup is great. There are different pods and security for your loved one. The pods had their own dining room, activity room. My loved one and I liked the set up of the pods.

Governor's Glen Memory Care Assisted Living

It is very rare when we visit to experience anything unclean. We have gotten to know most of the staff and they are all pretty friendly. The care they are giving my mother seems to be top notch. My mother does seem to enjoy a lot of the activities they have available. We do think Governor's Glen is a good value especially when considering other communities in the area.

Love this facility!

My wife is in the latter stages of dementia as a result of Alzheimer's Disease. When I could no longer safely care for her at home, I visited several homes in the area looking for a safe and comfortable place for her to live. I moved her in fall of 2016 and I still visit her 3 times a day. From day one, the staff welcomed her, and me. The staff make sure her needs are met. The meals are excellent. There is an abundance of fresh food, not just canned, frozen or prepared food. I make it a point to be with my wife for nearly all of her meals so I am well aware of what is served. The colleagues that teach nursing students and train CNAs must recognize the quality of care at The Bridges as they regularly bring their students to The Bridges to receive their practical training.

Wonderful!

My mom stayed at The Bridges for her rehab after her shoulder surgery. The therapy team was amazing and always took the time with her. She is grateful to have recovered and is back home. But, if we need to go somewhere in the future THE BRIDGES IS WHERE WE WOULD GO!!

this is how family takes care of family

My Mom experienced three distinct life stages while at The Bridges and I was able to see first hand how the amazing staff altered her Care Plan to address her changing needs as she transitioned from being able to walk and participate in activities, to becoming less mobile and cognitively deficient to eventually, end stage of life and death. As my Mom’s condition became progressively worse, the staff consistently and tirelessly worked to maintain the delicate balance of her capabilities. It would have been much easier to just let her stay in her bed and stop coming out to meals, activities, etc. but the staff wouldn’t give up on her. I have no doubt that their determination added months of quality to her life. They also collaborated very well with our Hospice care. No “turf battles” at all; my Mom’s care and well being was their priority. I also believe that the Administration is committed to running a facility that believes in continuous improvement and effective complaint resolution. Any facility that contends they don’t have complaints isn’t honest. Everyone has complaints-its what you do about them that matters. Any issues I faced with Mom’s care were handled cooperatively and swiftly. I felt as thought my concerns were respectfully addressed and I was included in resolution planning.
