Love Poplar Creek

My mom has been in Memory Care for 2-1/2 years at Poplar Creek. She gets very good care and the family atmosphere here is noticed immediately. Her level of dementia is severe, but I can sleep at night knowing she is safe and cared for. We visit frequently and take part in activities offered. Family visits are encouraged and the activities person does an excellent job to keep the residents involved in fun, interesting activities! I highly recommend and love Poplar Creek for the wonderful job they do.

The best of the best

The staff treats your love one as one of their own. They are knowledgeable about how to handle the needs of individuals with Alzheimer’s and how to put family at ease during the time of uncertainty. Best decision we made was choosing Willow Pond for my moms care. If you want the best chose Willow Pond. And the food is remarkable and could be in a five star restaurant

Individualized Care

What makes a difference in this facility is the personalized care that people receive. Care is given based on what a resident needs or what they might want. Care is scheduled when the resident wants it and not so it is convenient for the workers.

Great facility and staff!

I could not personally or professionally say enough great things about The Suites at Poplar Creek. I personally know the director and some administrative staff and they are responsible individuals that truly care for all of their residents and staff. The facility grounds are very well kept and maintained. When I visit, I get more of at-home feeling and positive atmosphere. The CNA's have all been very helpful when assistance is requested. All in all, it is somewhere that is highly recommended and valued in LaGrange, GA. There is no better feeling than being able to trust the safety and comfort of loved ones in someone else's care.

Friendly and Professional

Everyone that I have met on the Staff, have been friendly and professional. Most important, they treat the residents with dignity and caring. The staff /patient ratio allows necessary attention to all residents. They maintain the facility like a 5 star hotel. Laundry is done weekly, but more often if needed. They have activities scheduled mornings and afternoons daily during the week, somewhat lesser on the weekends because of heavier visitation by family.

Superb facility!

Lakes Crossing is a true blessing! The facility is second to none and is clean and inviting. It gives its residents a true home atmosphere with assistance as needed. It is so good to know your family and friends are so well taken care of and you don't have to worry about them. The staff are caring and activities are always well planned and fun. I have two residents living there and I am well pleased!

Place was very clean and had many open spaces for activities. They seems to schedule a full day, everyday for the residents. It felt more like a hotel and not a care facility. All the employees were very pleasant, and the residents just smiled the whole time.

"What's going to come of Mom?” This was one of the first things that crossed my mind when my Dad died rather unexpectedly in July 2015 in Thomasville, GA. My Dad had been my Mom's lifeline and had provided her with very attentive care and support for all the many years that they were married. In the aftermath of his death, my brother & I were a bit worried about how our Mom was going to survive, both emotionally, mentally, and physically, as Dad had shepherded her through many medical maladies and issues. In the days and weeks after his death, my Mom actually proved to be the strong, resilient, "steel magnolia" that I had always believed her to be. She rallied after his death and literally put one foot in front of the other to "carry on". However, because she was consumed with loneliness in their big house, and because by nature, she's always been very outgoing and sociable, Mom knew that there would be many advantages to moving into an assisted living facility. The task of finding a suitable facility for her in Thomasville was actually not as arduous a task as I had envisioned, namely because upon walking into Woodleaf Senior Care, we were witnesses to a community infused and intentioned with love, devotion, respect, and excellent care for the older adult residents who live there. Being a geriatric social worker, I'm attuned to the often challenging and emotionally difficult process of moving an aging parent into such a facility: I know the questions to ask but I also have a deep sense and intuition for recognizing care that is coming from the heart. And this is what we witnessed, from day one, at Woodleaf. It was apparent from the beginning, and confirmed later after Mom decided to move to Woodleaf, that the staff and team are dedicated to building, creating, and maintaining a community which fosters and supports the individual needs of their residents. It's almost as if each clinician and staff member at Woodleaf (including Margaret, Fran, Tony, Donna, Steven, and countless others) has fine-tuned radar that is able to hone in on the individuality and uniqueness of each resident and, in turn, is able to offer tailor-made care and support for the purpose of enhancing quality of life and satisfaction (including gourmet, nourishing meals; meaningful social events/activities; beautiful decor and radiant gardens). Living out of state, Woodleaf's dedication and commitment to quality care for my beloved Mom has given me TREMENDOUS peace of mind. The folks at Woodleaf, both the staff and Mom's new neighbors, have quickly become an extended part of my Family, for they have repeatedly demonstrated, in the short time Mom has lived there, that they are devoted to her best care, well being, safety, and quality of life. For this, I am most Thankful.

Staff Is Remarkable But More Activites Would Be Nice

They're a superb facility. My sister has been ther for over a year, this month. They did go up on her rent rate but we managed to get it reduced back to what it was. I do think the cost is a little expensive but I know the cost of living has gone up. I love it, personally. I wish I could afford to go there when I get older. I'm very impressed with them. The only thing is I would like there to be more activites. They've quit their exercise program because most of the residents are too old and can't do it but my sister is still active. It would be nice if there were more things that she could be involved in, but i realize she's only one of 80. Woodleaf is neat and clean and the personell is just remarkable! I would live there myself and I wouldn't put my sister anywhere that I wouldn't go.

Awesome place with a wonderful staff. And for $3,600 a month you would expect no less. But the sunroom needs a Heater replacement. This is their only Outlet to the outdoors. And there is a door there, so every time it opens there is a blast of cold air with a broken heater, fix it!
