If they say yes, it's over, even though that is the least accurate way to determine if they want to continue eating.\nRe activities: the current population of the facility is composed of late stage patients incapable of engaging in any group or organized activity. They would benefit from one on one attention, but again, they lack the staff. In the afternoon and evening, the residents are often simply lined up in front of a television. More staff would mean higher costs. Overall, White Oaks does most things well. Having been a single primary caregiver for a person afflicted with Dementia for many years, I know it requires a lot of individual attention. Sometimes that effort can be meaningful to the patient, and sometimes not. You can't have 100 staff people per shift, but you do well with what you have. If I had to cite a negative, it would be the large amounts of \"down time\" I observe in most resident's daily routine. Keeping a Dementia patient engaged in anything is the real challenge.
