A Great Fit for Mom!
My mom has been a resident at StoryPoint Canton for nearly two years and it is a great for her. The staff is friendly, attentive, informative and accessible. She enjoys friendships with other residents, fun group activities and games, a variety of food (three meals a day) and, most importantly, the peace of mind in knowing someone is always there for her assisted living needs. The environment is clean, open, and modern and provides many amenities including a hair salon, movie room, spa, and convenient access to physical therapy. They have an activities calendar and opportunities to enjoy shows and entertainment, bible studies, craft vendors, emotional support therapy and an occasional day out. We're close so we can visit mom regularly and know she is receiving excellent care. If we have any questions or need help, the staff is always very responsive. Their hearts are in it! Thank you, StoryPoint Canton, for all you do in supporting mom during this very special chapter of her life.

A Great Fit for Mom!

Beautiful place and supportive staff
My dad is adjusting well and the staff has been very supportive of his needs. It was tough on him after being independent for his whole life. Provision has worked well to encourage and support him and his needs.

Don't let the nice exterior fool you! Empty promises and not well run
My dad fell many times with visible injuries, we were rarely contacted to report the incidents. They claim they have footage to share with families from technology in the rooms, but often said they didn't know what happened to him. A ton of staff turnover at all levels. Missing items that were purchased for him and his medical care never to be seen. Laundry not done, so we had to do it ourselves. 1 or 2 med techs for up to 14 residents in memory care and he was not given basic care that was medically instructed like cutting food or help with hygiene. My dad was taken out of the building alone with a man saying he was there to transport him to a dr. appt. We were never called to make sure he should be leaving without a family member attending. We would've never allowed that, ever and this appt didn't even exist. This just scratches the surface! My dad recently passed away and they never called to give their condolences. Unprofessional and frankly very sad after all we went through.

That the facility takes your concerns seriously. To fill out forms from 3rd parties without being told a number of times and to call people back. The room size and lay-out is nice. [name removed] would like a microwave, that some place have.

Poorly managed, and understaffed facility.
I have both, my Uncle and Aunt in this facility. Don't let the decor, big bright windows, and photo gallery fool you. My Uncle is diabetic; has never seen a dietician, and given pasta, potatoes, hamburgers with bread, and also sweet desserts! Diet pop for drinks. Yet, they don't forget to give him his insulin shots every day. Makes NO sense! I am told there is a physio therapist who comes once a week!!!! There are hardly any activities or entertainment like you find in other facilities. If you want such services you will be asked to pay more. Some of the staff members are nice, however, they don't seem to have formal training/certification in looking after such residents. They seem to be under-staffed, and this puts a strain on the staff members. Also, their Fall Prevention tech never worked for my Uncle, when he had couple of falls, and lay on the ground, till help came. His only pastime is watching TV. Do you wish to have your loved one in such a facility? Think twice!

Would not recommend
The ladies at the front desk were very friendly, it was nice to talk with them. I can't say that there was anything we liked about the place other than it was new and looked nice. The care was terrible. My dad was dropped and was sent to the hospital 3 times in the five months he was there. Our families experience was not good so I would not recommend Provision Living to care for a loved one

Provision Living a great place for Mom
The facility is very well appointed. My mom just can't say enough on how beautiful it is. She loves all the staff. My wife's and I have had very good experiences with all the staff. They have lots of activities that the memory care folks can partake of also.

Our Experience
Love the atmosphere. Very clean and updated. New owners, so got off to a rough start, but things are improving. All the residents are very happy and seem content and have become family to each other. Staff has a lot of change over, but those that have been there are excellent.
Needs improvement with bathing and a regular schedule in place. Schedule is very inconsistent, hoping that improves. Needs more outside activities and more variety.

I would not recommend this place for a loved one
My loved one has been there over a year under Provision's care/lack of care.
Be aware, the staff is constantly turning over. Many employees simple walk off the job/including Director of bldg, resident assistants, marketing agent, administrative assistant, chefs.
Their solution is to bring in temporary help from their "corporate office." Leading to poor management.
I've reached out to corporate about getting rate increases without 30 day notice that is required in resident admission packet. The latest is a "late charge" for not paying the increase, even though I was not notified of price increase in timely manner.
In visiting at lunch time yesterday, I got to see lunch being served. It consisted of a small white roll, a scoop of mashed Potatoes, and a scoop of corn...That was all that was on their plates!!!!
My loved one hasn't had a shower in over a week; I had to take him to Dr's appt smelling of body odor, and with greasy hair, and dirty shirt.
Enough said!

Happy with our choice
It is a brand new facility. Everything is very nice. My mom moved in and felt like she was in a really nice place. Her vision of assisted living was not good and because of the newness of it it and the grand entrance, that really helped. It feels more like a resort rather than an assisted living facility.
I would recommend Provision Living at Canton.

Overall Good, needs improvement.
There have been some rather large mistakes made. The director of the facility is not responsible as far as the needs in certain situations. I know it's a new place and they're still working on getting the kinks out, but I feel they should have been much better prepared.

Full of Potential
All of the staff have been genuinely kind and nice. The community is still in the startup phase of having residents move in, so right now the care is very personalized, and the group of residents is very small. One of the downsides right now is they don't have transportation in place. They don't have a driver or a bus that can take the residents to the grocery store, doctor appointments, etc. Also because it's a newer facility, they're in the process of hiring staff, so the employees are new and have short tenure. I think all of those things will improve over time. The will is there. The desire and passion is there. I think it will all work itself out over time.

Caring Staff
Overall we've had a good experience at Provision Living of Canton. We had a rough start in the beginning due to transfer of ownership prior to us moving our loved one in. But things are good now, and we're happy with it. It's a brand new building and well kept. And the staff is incredibly caring.
