I would highly recommend
The community is very well kept, the cleanliness is great. With the covid pandemic our loved one has opted out of going to the dining room and cooking for himself, but with the meals he has taken from the dining room have been excellent. He also opted out of the activities for now, so we don't have much experience with all they have to offer. The value for cost is excellent it is a wonderful place.

My tour review
This was a good community and would have worked perfect for my loved one. This community was actually my favorite I just had to narrow down the choices and my loved one picked a different community. The tour was great, and they took the time to show me everything.

Just like family
My husband and I have been residents at the Manor for 12+ years. We loved it when we moved in, we love it even more now. We have a saying..."We're not fancy. We're family." That describes life at the Manor very well. We offer everything from villas (freestanding homes) to apartments to mobile homes. The relationship of the residents to the staff is wonderful. Staff are all willing to help and go beyond their job description when needed. The food is delicious and the variety is satisfying. Cleanliness and maintenance of buildings and landscaping is top priority for those departments. There are so many activities of varying kinds that no one person could possibly do them all. Assisted living and nursing care are readily available also. The Manor isn't perfect, but If you are looking for a great place to spend these years of your life, my husband and I highly recommend Westminster Manor of Bradenton, FL.

Our Tour Experience
It was just awesome. What they did for the residents was amazing, the groups and entertainment they brought in for them. I loved how clean and updated it was. Everything was just sparkling clean. It was Christian based, which is very important to me. I believe that's one of the reasons they were so good, because they have higher guidelines than some of the other places. And they provided more of a variety of care there, but I don't believe they had 24-hour nursing. We would have loved to have our loved one there. It was gorgeous, very nice, had an amazing library, offered art classes. Everything you could think of was provided there, with state-of-the- art equipment. They had retirement villas as well, and a pool for those who are able. The amenities were great. On our tour, they offered us some fingerling sandwiches and desserts, and even sent some home with us. Everybody was very knowledgeable. Anybody you asked a question either knew the answer right away or would find someone for you who did. I would recommend them. They were top notch. I would have loved to go there myself. The cost was the only thing stopping us.

Overall A Good Place To Be
The administration team is friendly. I feel they genuinely care about the residents. There are some residents that don't live in the main buildings of the community. The general overall feeling feels like we are overlooked since we aren't in the main building. The community was starting to take out of the landscaping without letting the residents know that "our" lawn was going to be disrupted. It was rectified, they didn't end up taking out all plants and replanted, all except for one plant. The monthly fee includes one meal and housekeeping. The food is processed, and the dining room isn't open. I would prefer to have a choice to buy a meal from the community or housekeeping. I feel that the housekeeping is limited due to time and restrictions. The housekeeping is seriously lacking. The main housekeeper is very nice. Overall I wish the communication would be better between the main building and our building. I do have to pay for electric; they pay for cable, and water. You will see a nice community with great landscaping on the outside. I would come back again, since I have a place to live with no maintenance. I would give it a serious thought if I knew about the housekeeping and the processed food. There are a lot of nice people here.

Nice place
I chose Westminster Manor because my daughter lives in the area. We came to visit because my daughter had been here before and liked what she saw. The residents and the staff are very nice and friendly. I feel more free here and it has been a good fit so far, I am in a modular home. The dining room is not open right now, we have a choice to cook our own meals or they can deliver a meal a day during the pandemic. The food is pretty good all things considered. I have no complaints. My favorite part about the community so far has been the friendliness of everyone that is here. I would recommend the community.

A friendly, and welcoming Continued Care Retirement Community that will take care of you the rest of your life.
Hi - my wife and I moved to Westminster Bradenton Manor in December of 2011. We had visited many communities in and out of Florida. Some were just too fancy for us (I'm not into wearing a tie and jacket for my meals - never have, never will), some were not very friendly, some had what seemed like only old fragile people who were just waiting to die, and some were just not within our financial status (I'm not crazy being around folks with a lot of wealth who like to remind you of that fact more times than not!). We had looked for 8 years, having been accepted in several of them but it just never felt like the right time. One day I suggested to my wife we take drive up from our home we just had moved into to look at a place called Westminster Manor. We weren't really looking to make any decision that day but when we talked with Marketing Director, [name removed], who showed us all around the independent living options, we changed our minds and put down a deposit to hold it for us, for a more final decision. The very next day we came back and made our decision to live in The Manor in a Villa. It was a decision we have not regretted even for a second. Our decision has been strengthened by the decisions of the Westminster Communities of Florida to keep our residents and staff safe from the COVID-19 virus. As of this writing, the 16 Westminster Communities in Florida have not suffered one resident death, which is really remarkable considering the deaths that have occurred in other CCRC s in Florida. We highly recommend Westminster Bradenton Manor on 21st Ave W. in Bradenton as a wonderful, friendly, and welcoming community to anyone looking to secure their future life plans.

good so far
I have only been living at Westminster Manor for about a month, and these are not typical times, with the coronovirus situation a primary concern. Even so, my reception here has been friendly and comfortable. I came from a senior living community in the midwest, where I had a good experience, and decided to make this move to be closer to my daughter and her family. I think it was a good move, and once activities are again a part of the routine here, plus opportunities to become acquainted with more residents, the experience will be even better. A Place for Mom was instrumental in helping us find this community. My feelings so far are positive. I truly expect that to continue. I really cannot rate some categories since I have not experienced them as yet, so based on expectations, I currently give high marks.

Loved One is enjoying life in ALF.
My loved one is currently in the ALF of the Bradenton Westminster Manor. We are very pleased that she is very well taken care of and looked after especially when we are not there. The staff that cares for her is great and shows common ground with each resident on her floor, even the Director of Nursing checks in from time to time for visits to provide one on one comfort. The food is great as well and if she does not feel up to going to the dining room, they will bring meals directly to her to remove the anxiety of having an 'off' day. The dining staff looks out for her as well to make sure she is getting her fruits and salads each day. We sit by the beautiful new pool and hot tub a lot and enjoy the view of this relaxing space right out in 'our' courtyard. A great place to BE!

Where's the management at night and on the weekends?
They health center really needs help. I was a rehab patient there recently and it wasn't what was touted to me by their representative when I was at the hospital looking for a rehab place. They put me in a room with another patient, when I was told there's private rooms and I would get one. My first day there I was told if I needed anything to just use the call button. Well not only did it take more and 40 minutes for someone to answer my call button, the aide came in, turned off my call button, and said they would "be right back". An hour went by before I had to use the call button again to have someone come and help me. Again waiting more and 20-30 minutes before someone came. My questions/concerns regarding my care went unanswered for day's as each person from the nursing staff would say that someone else had the answers. I was told to use the call button if needing to get up for the restroom, so I did. When someone FINALLY answered my call button, they told me until they find out from therapy if they could get me up, to just go in my diaper and they would change me. Totally Unacceptable! My scheduled medications that I'm to take at a certain time in the morning, were NEVER on time. Was told by the nurse that they are taking care of many patients and would get to me as soon as they could. I asked about getting a shower and was told "It's not your(my) shower day". I asked why can't a shower be arranged at any time and again was told "because it's not your shower day". Majority of the aide's that I interacted with were terrible, rude, and difficult to understand as they don't speak to you and talk looking the other way or on their way out the door and not wanting to address my needs. The aide's during the day shift seem to be best, but the evening shift and weekends were HORRIBLE! During the evenings they were loud with each other going down the hall. I was in a room across from a meeting room and majority of the night they would sit for hours in that meeting room on their cell phones and being loud to where I could not sleep. When asked to please keep it down so I could sleep, my request were just ignored. I wonder how/why a facility can run like this......Where is the management? Who's running this facility? How can these aide's just do what they want. Aren't they working to help us that are in need? I feel for the patient's who can't speak up for themselves and what they might be going through. The therapy staff are very friendly but I never knew when they were coming to do therapy, and most of the time I was not ready for therapy when they wanted me. It would have been nice to have a schedule, or knew when they were needing me so I could tell the aide's to have me ready. A positive that I can state is the food was Great compared to the hospital, and always served plenty where I was never hungry.

I don't recommend assisted living
Mom lived in the Manor for 25 days. She lived in assisted living where I was assured she'd have help with her ADLs. I stayed with her the first week so I saw first hand what happened. Once she was moved in, no one met with her to give her an orientation or even to show her where to go for meals. When I asked for one, I was told by the Nurse Director she was too busy and someone else would come. No one did. We didn't eat there the first two days because we didn't know where or when to go to meals. No caregiver came to her room to help her dress. In the 25 days she was there she wasn't helped to bath once. In 25 days she went to one activity because they didn't have an activity director, so there were few activities and no one came to tell mom about them. She sat in her room alone. After I left, she called me on the phone constantly worrying she'd miss meals because no one could be bothered to help her learn the new schedule of when they were. After she'd been there 20 days the Nurse Director told me she wasn't adjusting to the new environment and told me I had to move her out immediately and provide a private caregiver until I did. My calls to management went unanswered so I moved mom out. (I later found out the director was an interim director). Mom did not 'adjust' because 1) they didn't give her time to adjust and 2) no one made any effort to help her. For whatever reason, the Nurse Director didn't want a resident that actually needed more than 10-20 minutes help a day (she told me no one in assisted living needed more than that. If you need more, you need to be in memory care). The Manor is absolutely lovely and the food is so good I wish I could eat it everyday. I'm 55 and qualify to live in their independent living units and I'd do it in a flash if I was ready to retire. But if your loved one needs assisted living, this place doesn't provide it.

Mom loves it there!!
Westminster has been a wonderful place for my mom! She has a spacious room which is bright and sunny. The food is excellent and all of the staff are very caring and attentive. They provide rides for shopping and doctor appointments and have many activities for the residents to encourage relationship building and support. She feels safe and enjoys the independence she has, knowing support is immediately available if needed.

We had our mother in the Manor for Rehab. It's was aweful!! From the first moment to the last. She ended up being hospitalized. The woman at the front desk was rude. We didn't know where her room was and she couldn't have cared less. The place was dirty and smelled of urine. The night nurse couldn't figure out how to put her bipap on and ended up throwing it at her, walking out and shutting the door. When I complained the following day, nothing was done. She had a special needs diet (renal). The dietary came to me to ask what that was. Are you kidding me? When I asked the nurse if she knew my mother needed help to eat, she looked at me like I had 3 heads. I could go on and on. And, she wasn't even there a week. Aweful!!!

Big Results From A Small Facility
I have been a rehab patient at the Manor twice now. Both times I can say that I am glad that I made that choice. The therapy team did a great job planning out and performing my therapy. The nursing team did a great job caring for my wounds and ensuring that not only were my immediate needs taken care of but that other areas of need were addressed. A small facility with a big caring heart.

Not a good place
My experience with having my mom at westminster health center was not very favorable. We placed her there after a hospital stay as a trial to see if we might consider having there permanently in skilled nursing and have dad move to the assisted living side so they could be together in a facility. But after this trial experience, I would not recommend sending your loved one there. The occupational and physical therapy staff are quite capable and caring, and they should be complimented, but other than that, much needs improvement. In particular, nursing staff and supervision needs improvement. Although I visited practically every day, getting updates on mom's condition and progress was always like pulling teeth. There was always a lot of "it's not my job" or go talk to do and so, who would refer you to someone else. Even the nursing supervisor had similar attitude, so there's a problem for sure. Also, my mother has no use of right arm so needs her food cut for her. On two occasions i visited at mealtime. However no one pair attention or cut her food. I typically don't write reviews but this experience prompted me to do so. The facility also needs a thorough cleaning, as in several occasions, soon as you walk in the door, there is an unappealing smell. The assisted living side of westminster may be good, but I can't recommend their health center if your loved one needs that kind of care.

This community is adequate for our needs. Very caring, faith-based facility with nice rooms, several options for living style (garden building vs central high-rise). Activities are mostly up to residents to organize. Attractive, well-maintained buildings. Good value for the fees.
