I would change the food. I can be overcooked at times. Also, you get one glass of water and one other beverage, tea, coffee, or some kind of juice. I bring my thermos for my drink.
Also the parking can be limited. Sometimes you can park close entrance. Most of the time, expect 10 to 15 minute walk. It can be a chore for someone like me with leg and feet problems.

Meh
Staff are nice, fun activities planned regularly, but the building is old, elevators break down regularly, WiFi is non existent and cell coverage is very low, black mold in the building, and they're having difficulty staffing the kitchen and waiters.
My parents moved in, and at first things were going pretty well. The food was decent and the activities were fun and engaging. The apartment was a little dark, but the big trees providing much needed shade made the grounds a beautiful place to walk around outside. The pool that my mom was so excited about broke down, then 2 of the 3 elevators broke down and it took weeks to get them running again. Long lines of elderly people waiting for 1 elevator to bring them to breakfast lunch and dinner.
When the place changed hands, things got even more interesting and not in a good way. There was little to no cell service, but it wasn't a big deal until the WiFi died. It was impossible for my parents to do their bills, reach a doctor, or call 911 god forbid. (The personal emergency buttons didn't work reliably either) Atrium provided a land line (1/2 the time it was down) that could receive calls from anywhere but it could only call out to local numbers. All the while there were promises that they were close to fixing the problem. Not!
The finance department was totally screwed up, our rent payment was incorrect, mysteriously $45,000 showed up in our account which belonged to someone else and those poor people received eviction notices without any investigation first. Trying to resolve all of this was nearly impossible with the phone problems and the staff rotating through the management office faster than a subway turnstile. Literally, and I do mean literally, there was a different manager every week.

We started searching for a new place and it's a good thing we did! Soon after we found Choreograph black mold was discovered in the walls of the apartment right above my parents. I just heard the board of health shut down the kitchen yesterday. Maybe after they finally sprayed the apartments for bugs they migrated.

Amazing community
I have been at the atrium for a few month and the staff is very kind, friendly and attentive. There is always lots to do and the meals are delicious. I toured the community a few months ago and was very skeptical about moving from my old house where I have lived for many years. When I made the move to the community I met the management staff and [name removed] who introduced me to alot of nice people.

The atrium is a great place for the residents, the staff is great and the improvements keep coming. The meal service we receive is always delicious and [name removed] the bus driver is always on time and friendly. I highly recommend the Atrium for anyone who is looking for an independent living community. They have a large pool and beautiful grounds for walking and even a garden.

Holiday Atria Atrium Gainesville FL
[name removed] made our life change and transitions into community life so easy and amazing. Her tours covered everything we needed to know. Even amazing tips for the process. The move has been good for me, and my husband. We feel safe, and the amenities live up to the brochure. Our dog loves it here and there is room to park a camper van. It has met all our needs.

I am currently a resident at Holiday Atrium at Gainesville. This facility is in a very nice location and the staff is very friendly. The food is good, but service is slow sometimes. Overall, it is a quality facility. I would recommend Holiday Atrium at Gainesville to others.

Would not recommend.
In the last 6 months the place has taken a turn for the worse. The entire management staff quit within 4 weeks. The acting manager fired the entire serving staff and they haven't been replaced. At one point the cleaning ladies were serving food. It can take up to 2 hrs to get food. With the cleaning ladies serving they are unable to complete basics cleaning tasks. The food is over salted and over cooked. The acting manager tells residents to get out of her office when they go to talk to her. My loved one is afraid of her as are most who live there. I am cooking meals weekly for my loved one and taking them to her. She refuses to eat in the dining room due to a roach issue. They are working to fix that. Half of the washers and dryers are broken and the 3rd floor laundry room floods every day. I can go on and on.....this is just the top issues.

The residents and staff are very friendly and welcoming. My 1 bedroom apartment is so roomy and with plenty of windows so I don’t feel shut in. There’s so many activities to choose from.
My only negative is I’m not crazy about the food. But that’s on me, I’m a fussy eater. We get talking and I forget about it ! There’s always something I can eat.

Not as good as I had hoped
Food sometimes very good, most of the time fair. Service good. I was hospitalized for an emergency but with couldn't be discharged over the weekend because Atria would not come to take me home. I had to stay the weekend even though the hospital wanted to discharge me. There are a lot of great people there.

A Short Adventure
It is a well-run facility where everything is to a schedule. For the people there, they seemed acclimated to it. For my wife and I, we were not ready for that lifestyle. We were setting up for my sister. We picked the Atrium in Gainesville because it was close to my son and his family.

Great community Atmosphere
I toured this community when we were looking for a place for my grandmother. The community is elegant, and the atmosphere is vibrant. The sales manager was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions thoroughly. We didn’t have the chance to eat lunch, but the food looked great. I spoke with a resident, and the lady loved living at the Atrium.

Wonderful Place to Live
The Atrium at Gainesville is fantastic and worth every penny. My mom is so happy. The meals are fantastic. Management is fantastic. Maintenance is fantastic. Housekeeping is fantastic - they keep everything clean and spotless. The staff make sure everyone has everything they needed. The amenities are wonderful. I cannot say enough good thing about The Atrium. Living there has been wonderful for my mom.

We had a great tour at The Atrium. I wished my mom could have gone there, but she had just enough memory problems that she wasn’t a good candidate for independent living. I liked that they were very honest with me about that, that it's not the place for loved ones who need medical assistance, help with prescriptions, etc. And they were priced accordingly. I also liked that it was an active community. Many people were still driving, and there were a lot of people up and about and coming and going.
