Amazing place for Dad
Our family took a tour along with Dad and really had a good time. There was so many activities and lots of smiles around us the whole time. They were making chocolate malts and we were able to get a taste test they very yummy. The place is beautiful, the dining room has menus and cloth napkins and beautiful table settings. I love the private dining room that is off to the side where we could come and visit and have family over to have private dining. The rooms are very nice with great outside garden views. They have two outdoor Courtyards with tables and chairs and areas to walk outside very beautiful. The seasonal decorations and fun activities plus a movie theater are all wonderful features.

We are so grateful for this senior living community. My mom is thriving here. The staff is everything! They are so kind, compassionate and helpful. I’ve never seen so many employees genuinely embracing their calling in the workplace!
My mom is high energy and super social for a senior and everyone is so willing to engage with her and help her find ways she can make an impact there despite her dementia & Alzheimers. She has purpose and community again. This is truly a special place! I toured a few other options but the staff here made all the difference! I highly recommend it!

Pros and cons
My mom has not been there very long, she was moved to memory care shortly after she arrived. The facility is very nice and the food is good. The care depends on the caregivers and I know there is a shortage. Dealing with the situation they have I would say 3-1/2 memory care. They struggle to figuring out how to have any kind of activity for memory care residents when all that is needed is a little research on their end.

Parents adjusted well.
5 on all. My parents have settled in amazingly well. Staff are available and helpful while giving my parents their space. They are pleased with the food and I agree when I eat with them. They are participating in a variety of activities. We've celebrated both of their birthdays with family in a private meeting room. Yes, we would recommend Provision Living at St. Joseph to other families.

Would Recommend
They were good, but they weren't qualified to handle my loved one's care once he went into hospice. Therefore we had to transfer him to a skilled nursing facility. I understand staffing shortages are occurring everywhere, but I think they need more qualified staff to care for people. Also, they need to work on serving residents things they can eat, especially the ones who struggle to feed themselves.

They engage my father on a personal level
They're really excellent at communicating with the family; they're also really invested in the care of my father.
They think of things that I wouldn't. You'd think that that would come naturally to people who do it professionally, but this is his 5th year in an assisted living community - he's now in memory care. Where he was previously that really wasn't happening at all. If there's something I need to deal with, they'll text me and ask me. For example: restocking personal items, like his razors. Those reminders are a huge relief and are very helpful.
They also engage him in activities, rather than asking and going away if he says no. They've learned what and how to deal with him and his proclivities. They've learned that when he says "no", which type of "no" it is. And dependent on that "no", they'll still take him to activities and talk with him.
Some of their activities include movies and concerts. But they also have pastimes like making & drawing things, going outside, and even bocce ball. I haven't physically been there when they're doing activities, but I've seen photos. They interact with him, whereas his previous community did not. Before, he was spending 90% of his time sitting in his room. At his last community, he liked to sit in the dining room which was apart of a bigger communal space. He'd often hangout after meals to drink a cup of coffee and observe things. They would discourage him from doing that, and preferred that he sit in his room as opposed to frequenting those areas. He wanted to participate in social activities and that was his way of doing so. Here at Provision Living, he sits in the dining room / communal areas and they allow him to do just that - in addition to getting him involved in activities. So now he spends 90% of his time outside of his room. Sometimes its hard to get ahold of him, which I think is fantastic.
[name removed], the director is very amazing, and so is the RN [name removed], she's great as well. The community itself is really handsome and good looking. It's new and they have nice art pieces hanging up. It's kind of reminiscent of a nice timeshare, oftentimes that's where my dad thinks he is. It doesn't have a facility-like feel, it's like a vacation home. For example: he thinks the dining room is a restaurant. Provision Living at St. Joseph is a great nice-looking place, and they engage my father on a personal level.
