They cover every shift without a beat, & they are fine if I need to cancel a shift to take mom out of town or to an appointment. The owner is hands on. He did the initial evaluation, and I can chat with him when something comes up. Most of the caregivers are young, and my mom, who was first upset that we were requiring her to have caregivers, now seems to have relaxed into their company. They make sure she eats nutritious during the day, take her out for a walk, & spend the rest of the time playing her favorite game, Rumikub. When there is a substitute for the main caregiver, I try to leave a note or drop by to go over mom's routine and how the substitute caregiver can support her, just in case instructions weren't passed on. This is a good idea when working with any care agency.
