The staff is all wonderful, very positive, and always helpful. They have a new Culinary Institute of America trained chef who has upped the menu. Apartments are great with new finishes (carpet, appliances etc) for every new incoming resident - there are several sizes available so you can pick whatever size suits you.

Review for Pomperaug Woods a CCRC
The staff really went above and beyond to make sure my mother was well taken care of during the whole entire process. From the initial interview through the move-in to the first couple of weeks and months of her living there, they really made sure she was OK and participating in the events. She really loves it there.

The best
Even though my mother was only there for a month, and unfortunately her terminal cancer took its toll. I can't say enough about this establishment.
I reviewed and walked the premises of six different facilities and by far this establishment was the best in my opinion. There's a few reasons why, and I will explain.
First off the staff, starting from [name removed] and [name removed] to the nurse [name removed] including all the aids made our family feel as though we were part of their family.
It's a small establishment which I really appreciated. It made Mom feels though she was actually at home.
In closing I want to give thanks to everybody at this establishment that made my mother's final days very peaceful.

Very Impressed
As an exercise teacher at several area senior living facilities, I have always been very impressed with Pomperaug Woods. PW feels warm, bright, and peaceful. However, as much as it feels peaceful, it is easy to see that it is a very vibrant community offering a wide range of activities to promote the well being of the residents mind, body and spirit such as a variety of exercise and art classes, shows, field trips... There are beautiful spaces that promote community interaction yet places one can retreat to read a book next to a cozy fireplace. Through conversation with my students, it is easy to see it is a place they feel very happy living at. The staff are very friendly and respectful in their interactions with the residents. My Mom, who is 85, has attended a couple of events PW hosted and she told me that PW is a place she can easily see herself transitioning to. I know as her daughter, I would feel comforted to know it would be her new home.

Wonderful Home
I'm lucky enough to perform music at Pomeraug Woods and I am impressed with the care I see given at this community. The environment is clean and cheery, and because I play many Senior Communities, I get asked, from time to time, for recommendations. Pomeraug is one of the Senior Communities that I recommend when people ask me about this type of care.

Top notch treatment
I perform as a musician at more than 60 retirement communities throughout the North East. Pomperaug Woods is among the nicest, well run homes I've had the pleasure of working with. I have witnessed a high level of care for the residents by the recreation staff and nurses, and have heard positive feedback from residents in regards to the community at large. This is certainly a place I would consider for a loved one who needs exceptional care.

Caring people
My wife had an eight week stay at Pomperaug Woods and I couldn't be happier with the complete staff including the kitchen! All of the people involved in my wife"s recovery are superheros. They have what it takes to make anyone feel safe and comfortable. Constant monitoring of my wife's well being, medication and hygeine. They are did a wonderful job. I would recommend Pomperaug Woods to anyone seeking this type of service.

A good place to live.
Not only does the facility provide comfortable accommodation, but also can be found is a multitude of opportunities for gracious living. There is something for everyone, whether it be exercise classes or Classical music.
All this is offered in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. It is a good start for the rest of your life.

No place better!
My mother has been at Pomperaug Woods for several years. She began her life there in the independent living facility.
After several health issues, she is now in the Health Center where she receives the most wonderful care. I cannot say enough about the staff. They are the most dedicated "angels" that do all they can to make my mom's stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible.
They keep our family well-informed and up to date on any changes in Mom's care. They make us feel confident that she is in good hands.
I cannot imagine a better place with a more dedicated staff.

What a wonderful community!
My parents have been at Pomperaug for many years. They have periodically needed the services of the Health Center, which is a first-rate facility. The administrative staff treats us like family. The dining room choices are like a fine restaurant. Best of all, the cultural and artistic activities are creative and stimulating. The grounds are well-kept and beautiful. Our family gives Pomperaug the highest rating on all counts!

Great decision moving Mom into Pomperaug Woods
Our 88 year old Mom moved in right at the beginning of the Covid pandemic. Although activities were curtailed PW did an awesome job to pivot and make sure she and all the residents were safe and well cared for. The place was kept spotless an the staff at all levels was and is amazing. Now with things mostly back open, the experience for Mom has just gotten better. From meeting new friends and dinner companions to the array of perfectly planned social and physical activities.

A caring community
i have had family and friends join the Pomperaug Woods community. it's programs, administration and staff are caring and engaged, responsive to the ever changing needs of its clientele.
