Food isn't very good needs better nutrition and organization. Dinner time tonight was 5:00 we were served at almost 6:00 construction going on at all hours. For the amount I'm paying I think it would be a lot better

Misled about Care
It looked like it would work for my sister. Unfortunately, it really did not provide enough assisted living support. Plus, the only elevator kept breaking. I've moved her to a new facility

Our care partner, CorsoCare, is able to provide a wide range of support services, including higher levels of care and end-of-life care, to help residents remain successful in an independent setting. In some situations, residents may find that a more inclusive assisted living environment is a better fit, particularly when finances, medical needs, or safety concerns such as exit-seeking or advanced care requirements become factors. Regarding the elevator, we only have one in our community, and while it is regularly serviced, as with any mechanical system, there may occasionally be challenges. A nice community with great residents. Just lacking in good management skills. .
Dining room is poorly organized as is the kitchen, meals sometimes take 1 and a half hours. Staff is personable but lack of serving help is part of problem. We always hope things will improve and it's up and down. Everyone says if the dining room was improved most of the complaints would disappear. I like it here but really think much of the employee issues are difficult to deal with and finding people for food servers jobs is a big problem.

Review for Independence Village of Traverse City
Mom is independent living and doesn't receive care. However, she has needed help cleaning up spills on 2 occasions as she can't get down on the floor. I had to go clean up the spills because no one responded to her request for help with this. Residents need a way to page housekeeping in situations like this.
The food is okay but mom doesn't like seafood which they serve a lot. The need more options.
I wish she could afford to have a bedroom, rather than a studio. This is a very nice facility and I don't want to let perfect get in the way of good!

Great Place
Everyone is very friendly! They are like family.
My dad has the studio and its perfect size. Very accessible. Laundry is very accessible, central dining room isn't too far away. I would absolutely recommend IV of Traverse City to others looking.

Happy with our choice.
For the most part, we have had very positive experiences at
Independence Village of Traverse City. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The dining experience is sometimes slow, but the food is good. I feel my father-in-law is in a good place.

Warm and Welcoming - Highly Recommend
My mom's recovery from a broken ankle led us to Glen Eagle. They offered a short-term apartment with supportive care staff and accommodated pets. The studio's back door offered convenience for her dog’s needs.
During her stay, my mom appreciated the warm, welcoming staff and the opportunity to socialize - and so did her dog!
However, a couple of issues arose:
1. A resident above inadvertently caused a hindrance by discarding bread near my mom's outdoor door, making it challenging with her wheelchair-bound status -- her dog consumed the bread and briefly fell sick.
2. While the dining experience offered varied and delicious meals, my mom noted a shortage of her preferred salads and green vegetables. The tempting desserts posed a bit of a challenge, but no complaints!
Overall, Glen Eagle provided a supportive environment conducive to my mom's recovery. Despite the minor inconveniences, the facility's amenities, caring staff, and pet-friendly policy made it a positive experience.

Your next fabulous chapter
My mother is currently a resident at Holiday Glen Eagle and everything has been great for her at this facility so far. The housekeeping for an individual apartment is fine. The meals are good. They offer a nice variety and also have a Chef on site. The move in process was easy for us. I would 100% recommend Holiday Glean Eagle to family and friends! We're very happy with them!
