Meaningful experience.
Very friendly staff. The facility is about 1 year old, so clean & modern facilities. My sister [name removed] is in a one bedroom apartment in Independent Living. It is very spacious with open concept kitchen/living room/ dining area. My sister has no complaints about the food services. There is a variety of activities available. She moved in on [date removed]. So far, she is happy with her living situation.

An Amazing Experience
My mom went there reluctantly, she wanted to "stay in her home" but wouldn't admit it wasn't safe for her anymore. My sisters and I are shocked as to how quickly she was engaged at Harmony, she has made friends, loves the activities and is more active. Harmony is clean, the staff is amazing, the food is good, and there are a good number of activities.

Thank you for sharing your experience! We know that making the move to senior living can be a difficult decision, so it means so much to hear how quickly your mom has settled in and embraced community life at Harmony. We're delighted that she's making friends, enjoying the activities, and staying more active. It's also wonderful to hear your kind words about our team, dining program, and the cleanliness of the community. Our staff works hard to create a warm, engaging environment where residents can truly feel at home. Thank you for trusting us with your mom's care

Nice place but needs some improvements.
They are short staffed, especially in the memory care area. The workers in the memory care area are amazing. They are just overworked and are sometimes doing doubles because of staffing issues. The only concern that I have is that they need to have an outside cleaning company to come in and take care of the cleaning. The wings in memory care should be cleaned at least three times a week. They are not done well and the floors at times are dusting and dirty. They also need to have more activities for the memory care residents who pay the most out of all the other residents. They used to have more activities. Now it is here and there. Dementia patients need more engagement.

Did not work for my father
Food 5 (for dining staff). 0 for food. (my father now eats 2 -3 meals in his apartment with convience food). My father is choosing to leave in June. They're trying hard but they cannot keep the staff and care is very limited.

Our family's experience
Over all the level of care is good. They are still working on being fully staffed but the head of nursing supports and jumps in to help her nurses whenever needed and to me that is very important. Harmony at Glasgow is clean! I have not met anyone who is not friendly or nice and always willing to help. I would rate Harmony at Glasgow 4 stars. The apartment size mom is in is perfect for her.

Our families experience
I like how friendly the people (the workers and the residents) are. I like the cleanliness and the inviting feeling that you get when you enter the building. I love that my mom is happy and well taken care of. Yes. I would absolutely recommend Harmony at Glasgow to others. I feel like they really care about my mom. Everyone knows her from the Concierge to the director. It is truly a family.

I visited Harmony at Glasgow while searching for a safe and supportive place for my mother to receive 24-hour memory care, and I was extremely impressed from the very first visit. The environment was warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed with safety in mind. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring. What stood out most was the happiness of the residents, who were eager to share positive experiences about their new home. I returned several times, including unannounced visits, and the consistency of care and engagement remained the same. Staff were actively involved, and meaningful activities were always taking place. This consistency gave me confidence in choosing Harmony at Glasgow. Knowing my mother is safe, supported, and treated with dignity despite her dementia brings me tremendous peace of mind. While placing a loved one in memory care is never easy, choosing a facility where compassion is clearly prioritized has brought true comfort to my heart

better than some, but has a lot of work to do
The apartment size is very good. Although the kitchen is way too big, they could have used that space for other things. Most of the aides are nice. It was brand new so it did have some growing pains. Their health director left after they forced her to work to 12-hour shifts with no coverage or break. The cook didn't actually know how to cook very well or the chef or whoever ran the dining room. It's not much better now that they have a new person. The food is usually cold and sometimes gross. And we're pretty sure somebody is coming into his apartment when he's not there and taking stuff out of his refrigerator. There have been lights left on that he doesn't even touch or go near, like the spare bathroom or the spare closet in his office.

My poor 90 year old mom had emergency surgery and since then it has been deemed necessary to go to Assisted Living and she is unable to return to her home. This is such a shock and an emotional time for her and me. Being treated with such kindness and work g to make things happen sooner vs later has been so helpful.

Review for Harmony at Glasgow
The facility is beautiful, and very clean. The staff is very friendly and professional and go the extra mile to make my mother in law feel welcome and important, and to be sure we as family have no questions of concerns. The food is excellent, they were giving her too much so they worked with us to adjust her meals accordingly. There are activities all day, focusing and many different skills to enhance memory, decision making, art, music, self-care, physical strength and balance, etc. We are very happy with Harmony at Glasgow.

Tips for evaluating your community options

Safety is a primary concern when seniors and their families look for Assisted Living. To ensure that a community meets your needs and expectations, we recommend that seniors and family members:

  • Know Delaware’s regulations for memory care. Each state has its own laws and inspection processes to ensure seniors reside in a safe environment. Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the communities you’re considering. Learn more about Delaware’s regulations for memory care and download the Guide to Senior Living Licensure and Inspection Reports.

  • Tour the location. Touring allows you to speak to current residents and staff, and it helps you confirm the accuracy of the community description and photos. Use our touring checklist to help guide your visit.

  • Confirm the availability of required services. Before committing, make sure that the community offers all the services your loved one needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.

A Place for Mom has scored Harmony at Glasgow 9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.   We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.   Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
