Mom was loved and cared for
Mom set up tours of two facilities. After her Danbury visit, she came home and said “Cancel the other tour, I’m going to Danbury”. She was there for 2.5 years, and it was a wonderful experience for her. Everyone knew her, and she was happy.
It is hard to watch a parent get old, and even harder when you can’t care for them yourself. For us, mom living at Danbury meant she got to be active and social, and we did not have to worry as much about if she was lonely, or eating enough, or if she was taking her medications.
Moving her from one level of care to the next was seamless, and made difficult decisions easier. Everyone was wonderful, helpful, and truly took care of mom.

Mom was loved and cared for
Mom set up tours of two facilities. After her Danbury visit, she came home and said “Cancel the other tour, I’m going to Danbury”. She was there for 2.5 years, and it was a wonderful experience for her. Everyone knew her, and she was happy.

Great Experience
My mother moved into this community in a one bedroom with the option to move into a 2 bedroom if it became available. She enjoyed the positive feeling from the staff and still being able to do things on her own. Although over the past year, she was too ill to participate in activities. She still loved having some independence with the help of staff for some items. Everyone there was friendly, helpful and all around nice. Especially in the front office/reception/nursing areas.
When she passed, they were very comforting and helpful in getting everything done. 10 out of 10!

Thanksgiving Family Night
The family night was well organized and a very good experience. Although I didnt have guest join me, I could see the families and other residents enjoying each other's company. The decorations and accommodations for 170+ people were very well done. The servers and staff managed the crowd well and delivered the meals timely and smoothly. The food was fantastic with great quality and quantity. 4.999 stars for satisfaction.

My aunt moved to Danbury 2 months ago. The staff has been helpful and friendly.
She has enjoyed the variety of programs and outings.
The facility, inside and out, is clean, warm, and inviting.

Family Fall Chili Night
About a week ago we attended the Family Chili Night at Danbury with some of my family. A few more showed up than I expected, but it was a great showing for my Mom. She really enjoyed seeing some that had not been to Danbury to visit her before. Hopefully now that they know how nice Danbury is and how friendly all the staff and residents were they will want to come back. I know I try to make it to Danbury at least every week to have a meal with Mom and I really enjoy it. They cater to my every need as I'm sure they do for my Mom. Glad we put my Mom at Danbury. Nothing but the Best!!

My mother lived at Danbury Memory Care for a few weeks before she died. Her care was very good. It was also individualized to her specific needs. All the staff were very caring. I have absolutely no complaints.

We are blessed to be living at Danbury Villas!
We recently moved in and have been so blessed to feel welcomed by every staff we have interacted with or observed caring for facility residents. As we live in a Villa we are independent, and can come and go as we please, cook our own meals or eat in a welcoming dining room with nutritious food served. We would recommend Danbury Mt. You have found the memory care you are looking for! After touring multiple facilities in Richland, Ashland, Knox and Franklin counties and being less than thrilled with the offerings, I was ecstatic to discover Danbury of Mount Vernon. Working with A Place for Mom, and [name removed] Danbury I found exactly what I was looking for. A secure, caring, home-like environment with the privacy and services your loved one deserves. Not only did they help to quickly offer respite care at a sister facility, but they also facilitated the move to our permanent home more quickly than anticipated. Please come tour Danbury of Mount Vernon. You will not be disappointed. The staff is top notch from the chef who prepares healthy, appetizing meals to the servers who know and truly care for your loved one. The facility utilizes evidenced based practices from the decor, to the room designs all the way to the activities that are offered daily. The nursing staff is well educated and very communicative. This is home!

Danbury for your loved one!
The Danbury is filled with awesome people from [name removed], the executive director, to [name removed](both you can question and answer freely about Danbury and if is it is right for your loved one) as was as [name removed], the head nurse. [name removed] and I have talked on numerous occasions and had been a tremendous blessing and a wealth of knowledge for my dad and his situation. The staff who see to the daily needs of the individuals is second to none! They do an awesome job of caring for the individuals, my dad happens to be one that needs more direction as he suffers from dementia and is in the memory care area! They have activity coordinators, and a wealth of other beneficial options (nurse care practitioner on site weekly/hair cutting options on site/work out area on site (rehab for those who need it) and a host of other things! I labored for months taking care of my dad because in my mind, nobody could do a better job! However, I was wrong! Give Danbury a chance and reach out to [name removed] or [name removed]!

This place has given me a chance to get back on my feet.
I enjoy the environment.The staff is helpful in many ways, personally and medically. I feel taken care of wood on every aspect of any of my needs. I’ve been in other places for my care needs and none of them have even touched the care that this place offers me. I’ve made new friends and new relationships while living here. When I first moved in it was my wife and me as residents. She has since passed and during that timeframe we were both treated with the best care and compassion.

Exceeded our expectations
My mom lost her husband in [date removed] but continued to stay alone in the home she had lived in since 1968. In [date removed] she experienced several falls within a few short months. She was not eating well and becoming weak and mildly confused. In October I took mom to The Danbury for a scheduled tour. Mom wouldn’t even get out of the car! I met [name removed] [name removed], who after my tour made the extra effort to go to the car, introduce herself to mom, and the two had a gentle conversation about all the Danbury community had to offer. Mom was reluctant to leave her home but we encouraged her to take a “winter respite” to gain strength.
It is now [date removed] and Mom is THRIVING beyond our expectations in the Danbury community. She has friends, real conversations, eats 3 great meals daily, plays bingo, euchre, and participates in well planned activities. The dedicated staff go above and beyond to ensure Mom is treated with kindness, dignity, and respect. She is happy, safe, and The Danbury is her new home.

Danbury Mount Vernon
The Danbury Mt Vernon team has been outstanding. Their team, led by [name removed] and [name removed] from Danbury were great in follow up with our family when Mom was not ready to move out of her home, but then were even more outstanding in coordinating her moving in and assisting our Mom and family in doing everything we needed to get her into her room at Danbury after injuries sustained in a fall at home.
Mom now loves it at Danbury and all the great care provided by the Danbury team.

Appreciation
I walked into a clean, fresh smelling, well lighted place. I was greeting my gracious staff at the desk. I saw many residents and visitors sitting in comfortable chairs, chatting, laughing and enjoying each other. Beyond, I saw the dining room, where others were having a coffee or tea, a snack. My sister, whose husband is a resident was greeted by several staff members, who took the time to update her on her husband’ night and how he was doing in the morning.Then we went through to the residences, I must comment on the level of security, which must keep “wanderers” from getting confused and lost. My brother-in-law’s room is spacious, accommodating for visitors. I loved seeing so many of his beloved personal belongings on the walls and shelves, adding a “homey” touch. He has a lovely view of the outdoors, another feature that I am sure comforts him.
Based on my prior experiences in senior facilities, facilities, I found Danbury much quieter, much less commotion in the halls.

Experience moving my Mom into Danbury
Recently moved my 87 year old mother into Danbury after a serious fall at her home. Leadership team and staff at Danbury were very helpful and responsive during this challenging time, many of them going above and beyond as they helped our family through the process.

A Place for Mom uses the term “assisted living” to indicate that the community provides some level of assistance with daily living activities. It does not indicate that the facility meets official state requirements for level of care.
