A new home for mom and dad!
The apartments are spacious and bright! They have a 2 bedroom that is brand new.

Very happy with the Bardwell residence. They worked with us on timing of selling mom's house. Mom has settled in well and is staying so much more active and social than she would have been at home alone.

our family's experience
Overall experience I'd say has been a 4/5. We have nothing to compare it to so hard to judge. Dad seems to like the place and has made friends and plays cards with them. Although he doesn't take advantage of all the activities, but that's his choice The apartment itself is nice and seems to be size appropriate for what he needs. He seems to like the food, which is good because he's kind of picky. Other than that overall I'd say it was a good choice.

Communication is the biggest issue
Communication is awful, CNA's are lazy, we have to Constantly get on the the staff for updates and care. One time mom was sent to ER - family didn't even find out until the arm band was seen on her nightstand! Some things have been worked on others a "work in progress"

These responses are pretty brutal that doesn't mean I wouldn't recommend them there was a lot of people transitioning while Mom was there too many aids working double shifts. But everyone had their heart in the right place and were working towards a better solution. I very seldom give 10 out of 10 because I always think there's room for improvement even for me I'm a 7-

Review for Bardwell Residences
When we toured Bardwell we were struck by the kind staff, the size of the apartments, and the cleanliness. Unfortunately, they have had continuous turn over of Administration, and have lost some wonderful staff members. While without administration, we dealt with the management company. It became very clear that they are more interested in the money than providing the best care to residents. Several staff members are lovely, caring people who have provided wonderful care, however, understaffing leads to lack of care, especially on the weekends.
Some specific examples of problems have been lack of sending up a meal tray, if resident doesn't go down to the dining room, after asking for this to be done. Asking for medication refills with only 1 week notice. Leaving a voice message in an unidentified voice message box and not receiving a call back in more than one day. Pulling the emergency cord in apartment bathroom with no response for 20 minutes on a weekend.

Check out Bardwell; it's worth it.
My mom and dad were some of the first residents at Bardwell. It took a while for Bardwell to hire the right people in administration. They are very good with communication with our family regarding my dad's dementia and plans to move forward. They always have something going on for the residents. The food is marginal, but I feel it is acceptable considering how many different types of tastes are out there. They are as happy as they can be at Bardwell.

A great option for independent seniors
This was not the right choice for my MIL when she was there. She needed much more care than respite or even assisted care. She wanted and expected hospital level care and even the nursing home where we moved her was "not right" with her expectations of care.

Serenity.
The staff and administration make us all feel like family. My dad passed away almost a year ago. Recently I had to drop off the keys to my dad's apartment we found in a box. They all knew me and had great conversations even though we no longer have anyone there.

Bardwell is nice. The staff is friendly. This was the one place that had independent living apartments
which is what I wanted. Activities are here but not well attended. There aren't any on Saturday and Sunday. Food is the biggest issue. It's mediocre at best. Sometimes there are two choices, not always. Lunch and dinner are scheduled for specific times but always served late to wait for stragglers. Most folks don't like it and it seems like it's for staff convenience. As to cost, you're all too expensive

Highly disappointed
The rave reviews are what led us to The Bardwell. We could not be more disappointed. There is no organizational leadership, a huge lack of communication among staff, and the executive director position has been vacant for months. Their biggest strength is providing broken promises. The Bardwell may have been a great place in the past, but I can assure you it currently is not.

A place for Mom and Dad
We visited in hopes to find a home for my Mom and Dad. Mom went with us and was truly amazed at the place right away. It doesn't feel like a retirement home, but an apartment home. The rooms are spacious, the staff is extremely friendly AND helpful. They get 3 meals a day on their plan or if they want to can make something in their apartment. They are on a floor where my dad, who needs assisted living, and my mom, who needs independent living, can still live in the same apartment. They are making many friends at all the activities they have available daily. They have a NP on staff that visits them every 2 weeks just to check up on them and do what is needed to keep them healthy. They have a dog and we were so glad pets were allowed! From day one the staff has been amazing and incredibly helpful. We have been truly blessed to find a place they both love more each day. Bardwell is a wonderful place for Mom, and Dad!

Our dad just moved into the memory care little over six months ago. The place has been very clean and the staff has been patient with him while trying to accommodate his needs. He has his own little apartment with a little fridge and a sink and some cabinets. They are starting to get more residence so there is different staff there at times. I’m not sure about the food. He doesn’t say much about it. They have had some nice activities. They recently had a car show, they have a family barbecue. They have a service dog that visits. [name removed]and [name removed] have been great. I also [name removed] a few other options for memory care that were not clean and double the cost.
