We were staying in oyster bay New York, and we are very familiar with Glen cove New York. When we took my sister to tour we were very impressed with the director very compassionate and understanding with our situation with placing my sister.

As an independent person, I unfortunately have bad sight and my family believed this place was best for me. My experience with the staff has been great. From the receptionist to the help I receive, they have been most positive and helpful. The food has been satisfactory. The activities have been improving. As an opera fan, the facility has taken my suggestions to heart and has acted upon them.

Ineffective management
My mother has been at the Atria in Glen Cove for two and a half years and after a strong start, things fell apart. To fill empty apartments, they let in people who needed more care than they could offer (even someone who was incontinent and someone who tried to escape). Now at least 1/4 of the residents require 24-hour aides and there are long waits for elevators because of the additional people coming into the building. There are several residents with dementia and no services to support them. This is not the place we selected and we feel like we were duped. What started off as a vibrant living environment quickly turned into a nursing home with oxygen tanks and walkers. The management ignored several complaints and has created animosity and has made us all angry and frustrated and looking to move.

Great Place to Be
My loved one is very happy. It's very clean. It's a smaller community and they care about each other. They have beautiful rooms. The wellness area could be improved. It's a great place, and they have a lot of recreational things to do. Overall, they treat my loved one very well, and it's a beautiful place.

A Caring Community
Atria Glen Cove is a caring community. My dad moved in recently and is enjoying the experience and feels very comfortable in his new home. The staff is kind and responsive to his needs. The building's common areas are beautiful and pleasant inside and out. The staff really cares about their residents and they make a point of saying hello to my dad by name when they see him. My dad has been especially enjoying the food which has been nutritious and delicious. Many staff members ([four names removed], and many others) have been great to work with from the start and show their care for the residents daily. The staff has been quick to respond to dad's needs in a thoughtful and respectful way. It looks like we made a really good choice with the Atria.

Atria Glen Cove Is a vibrant, warm and special community. My mom moved into the community and is always busy. At first I was apprehensive about moving mom into an Assisted Living. Atria Glen Cove is a home. She is making friends, going on trips enjoys the meals.

Best customer service experience with ultimate care and compassion
Our experience with the Atria @ Glen Cove was first class from start to finish. [name removed], executive director, is a kind and caring person. She listened to my family's needs at a time when the situation was very stressful. She connected us with the Atria's Community Sales Director, [name removed]. With care and concern, [name removed] provided us with the guidance we needed to make the best possible decisions for our relatives. During our tour, [name removed] went above and beyond to make our experience most enjoyable and comfortable.
We even had a sit down chat and lunch with some of the community's resident ambassadors. Everyone was wonderful. Shortly after our tour, we met with [name removed], Resident Relations Director, who was also great. She helped facilitate the necessary steps taken to secure my relative's health and well being in the Atria's community. The Atria @ Glen Cove is beautiful, clean and most friendly. I highly recommend the Atria @ Glen Cove.

Wonderful Staff and Residents at Atria Glen Cove
When I first toured Atria Glen Cove with my husband and my brother and his wife, I did not know what to expect. From the moment we were shown around , there was a feeling of home. We were looking for a comfortable safe active community for our Independent Mom. She is 92 , and since Covid everything was shut down, namely the Senior Center where she played bridge, ate lunch, socialized. When we Met [name removed] she was wonderful . She took time, explained everything, introduced us to Staff and Residents and it felt like home. I can honestly say my husband and I have been doing this since 1990 , mostly for friends and relatives and we have toured many independent/assisted living places in the past, this felt like home, and [name removed] made us feel very comfortable in a very delicate situation. We are convinced it’s a win situation for my Mom, only time will tell, we are hoping she will feel at home and agree. Thanks again [name removed] for working with us.

My mother in law is very happy with her move to Atria Glen Cove. It was a very hard decision and she is very difficult to please. The staff warned the family it will take mom time to acclimate. The wellness and engaged life department made mom feel special, safe, and provided support. Mom has made numerous friends. She is very happy with the move. We are all very excited for her knew journey.

A Decent Place, But Beware of the Scam
It's okay, and if it fits your budget I wouldn't rule it out. It's not terrible. The care is okay that my loved one is receiving. The family has an issue that my loved one is having to have medication managed by the community and there is an additional charge for this. They determine if the resident is able to manage their medication by asking questions to them about their medications. The community is refusing to redo the test of medication management for our loved one. The family is also disappointed that the community refuses to allow our loved one to redo this test.
The staff are fine to work with. They are good about following up with the family's questions and concerns.
Shopping, exercise, music, and more are some of the activities available for the residents to take advantage of. There is transportation for the residents to use for doctor's appointments.

Review.
When we visited the community, we were welcomed at the reception desk and many were residents mingling. The community was recently renovated and looks warm, bright and immaculate. The staff was very attentive to my grandfather. He enjoys playing cards with the other men. He seems happy and well fed.
It was a hard decision but the best for him. He is active in the community.

I visited the community with my fiancé, to visit her grandmother. I was so surprised with the feeling of home. The new renovations are beautiful, warm and welcoming. The staff was very friendly and easy to talk too. We hung out with other residents. We were all laughing and having fun in the back room, playing cards. We will visit again and hopes it outside in the warmer weather.

My loved one loves the community, the new renovations are spectacular. Everyone gathers on the first floor plays games and socialize.
The entertainment and guest speakers are enjoyable.
The staff goes above and beyond. The building is spotless. Enjoying eating in the new dining room.

The perfect fit for my friend.
It's not a very fancy facility. But it's very well kept. It's low-key and small, with just 80 apartments that are not fully occupied at this time. It's a very warm, nice, and welcoming place. It's not one of the very ultra fancy places, but she couldn't handle one of those. This is the perfect place for my friend. We had gone to many places that were recommended to us, and she felt very comfortable once we toured here at Atria Glen Cove. It was smaller and warmer as opposed to fancy and glitzy. And that was what was very welcoming to her. She says the care they give to her is excellent, and the food is excellent as well. I think it's a very good value. She is deliriously happy, which makes me feel the same.

Old bait and switch
Atria of Glen Cove appears to be lovely when you visit but that is it! The inconsistency in communication was a HARD NO for us. We met with the Director [name removed] and discuss what we were looking for. We were told a wonderful story. When we met with [name removed], nothing we discussed occurred during our love ones visit. We reached out and again made an attempt to work with Atria of Glen Cove. The same thing occurred. We were told many wonderful things and then receive a notice that they could not honor what they had stated. I felt like I was dealing with a used car dealer. I felt like it was the old bait and switch. This type of setting in not a place for your love one! You want to make sure they are safe and well taken care of!!!

You would do well with atria is you can be somewhat mobile
We chose Atria at the time because they presented themselves very well, it was clean and they were consciousnesses. It is a very nice place as long as you can be mobile. If you cannot be mobile, it is not a good fit. It is assisted living and they do not give a lot of assistance, but they are consciousness of care. The wellness staff was very friendly and they were good with communication.

Not pleased
He is not having a good experience at Atria Glen. The food is not good. They only make sandwiches for meals and they do not have a full kitchen and run out of food a lot. Some people have left here because of the food situation. Overall, I would not recommend.
