My father has resided in the memory care unit of the Colonial at Old Camden since February 2022. My mother visits him frequently and has reported that the staff is consistently attentive, conscientious and well-informed as to my father’s physical and emotional condition and daily routines. Knowing my father is well-cared for has made the difficult decision so much easier to accept for my mother and me.

I tell everyone that my Dad has improved 200% since he has been at Dahlonega Assisted Living! He loves it there, and the staff are wonderful with him. I could not be happier.

Dahlonega Assisted Living provides individual care for individual needs, with not too much fuss about the level of care. Everyone is treated equally based on their needs, so you don't have to be so concerned about the costs of this and that. Everyone gets good care all around, instead of nickel and diming the residents. They are also open to suggestions for improving - so that's good. Communication between the community and myself is very good, they contact me via email, text, and phone call. I can also call them whenever I want. They have quite a bit of activities, which include happy hour every Friday with guest musicians, and on other days there are guests who come in with animals and bird shows. They offer arts & crafts, physical therapy, exercise classes, and games & movies. They'll take the residents on outings to plays, restaurants, bars - really whatever they want to do. They allow pets, there are residents who have dogs and cats. You're also allowed to bring your pet to the dining room. The dining comes with different options, they'll take orders the day before, and they have choices for every meal. On Sundays they have brunch and they even have a deli section. So if you don't want a meal, you can take a sandwich to your room. Dahlonega facilitates a monthly meeting with the residents to get feedback and hear from them. From day one my mother explained that the first month she moved in, they listened and they made adjustments for things she complained about - which is great. My moms apartment is just right. There are different sizes and she has the medium sized one. She can decorate it and she has it exactly the way she wants it. She has a lovely view of the courtyard from her window, and that window just about takes up the entire wall.

The River Park community is almost brand new so it is spotless clean and so fresh. Compared to other communities in the area the value it is great it is all inclusive which is great. The staff are so accommodating especially when it came to the meals, our loved one ate certain things that they chef was not offering at first but after we had a conversation with the chef he changed up the menu with our loved one. It is a growing community they are building onto it like crazy. Our first contact with [name removed] really just sold it for us she was so great to work with. They use doctors on call in SC as their physicians and we cannot even express who good of quality care they give to their residents.

I was very impressed with The Retreat at Summerville. It was a very elegant facility. We ended up choosing another community simply because their waiting list was so long. Shortly after making the move, I got a call from them letting us know that they had an opening, which was puzzling considering how long we were told the waiting list was. I felt like they could have been more assertive initially to capture our business.

We toured with Ambriant at Avondale and the facility is brand new and very upscale. The atmosphere was bright, airy and beautiful. Unfortunately it was much more than we would have been able to afford, but it was extremely nice.

My tour with The Retreat at Fishersville was amazing. The facility is very nice and I just love all of the staff there, they are so accommodating and wonderful. I am actually planning to head over there this week to get my loved one on the list to move in.

The staff at this community are amazing. The food is outstanding and everyone is friendly and wants to get to know each other. Everything is great. They have activities like work outs multiple days a week, crafts, clubs, outings once a week and more for the residents to do in the community. They also have a chef talk and more for the residents there is always something to do all through the day. They also have patio talks in the evening for the residents.

We chose The Colonial because of the size of the facility, it was smaller and it was only a short distance from where we live. The staff here are so friendly that you immediately feel at home. They are very transparent with you, they call me always with any updates and send me pictures, they really treat you like family. I am very impressed with everything so far and would absolutely recommend them to others.

River Park is really spacious, nice, bright, clean and we like the smaller scale of it. Based on the tour we knew our loved one would feel more comfortable and at home here. It just seemed like the best fit for her. The value for the money is right in line with other communities in the area and as far as we are concerned the care level is great.

Everything is going well. Everyone has been very accommodating and understanding. My loved one likes the food very much. We haven't really had any issues. We're able to contact her any time that we need to, and she can do the same with us. We've had no issues visiting. It's been an awesome experience so far.

If I was looking for a place to go, this is where I would want to go if I could afford it. They have so many different things for the residents to do. And there are so many areas for socialization. When they're not shut down for Covid, they're not secluded at all. My loved one enjoys Bingo, Jeopardy, and the bus trips. She fell down recently, and she said they were there in seconds. The staff are always nice and checking in on her. We feel so much safer with her there.

We chose River Park because it was the closest and the presentation when we went for our tour was the best. I think the staff are very accommodating and also super friendly as well. I would definitely recommend to others looking.

We had a very good tour experience with River Park. It is brand new and it looked like they had a good program for memory care. It is a larger facility and with our loved one having dementia we just thought that she would be confused and needed a smaller environment.

The staff are very caring, and they are in constant communication with me. It's a great place. My mom has a lot of health issues and memory issues, and they are just wonderful with her.

The staff members so far have been very attentive to any suggestions and feedback we give to them, and the care given to our loved one is excellent. The cleanliness has improved and they do have a lot of activities for the residents to participate in. Our loved one is on the memory care side and we aren't to sure all of what is being offered because she does not participate but we do know she likes the arts and crafts.

I've been pleased with how they've been taking care of our loved one. I've been kept up-to-date. They have changed a few employees since he's been there, but they keep me informed about anything that might be going on. If I go in with any questions, I always get answers. Their cost is comparable to other places in the area. I've been very pleased with them.

We toured this community and the tour was very good. They answered all of our questions and were very informative. They were very accommodating and the staff was very helpful and friendly.

We recently toured the Retreat for my grandfather. The staff were excellent. They were very accommodating, answered all of our questions and showed us around the entire building. The building is clean and the residents seem very happy. The y have alot of activities like games and socials things for their residents and even have outside entertainers like bands and magicians for their residents. They were very reassuring to us and we felt like this might be a great fit for Grandad when the time comes.
