Juniper Communities

I wish they did more activities outside the facility. One night in Dec they went on a bus ride to look at Christmas lights which my family member loved. I would recommend it. We were attracted to them because they have great staff and it's a nice facility .It is in close proximity to family. It has tiered care.

My Grandmother passed on[date removed] the memory care was amazing to my family and grandmother they were very supportive and the cook [name removed. The one person that gave condolences was [name removed] know one else from the office not a call card nothing

Our initial sign up was in October but we’ve only been actual residents for two weeks. A few things that made us choose Juniper Village were the two bedroom unit size, closet space, location and value. We’ve had some small maintenance issues but nothing major so far. Residents we’ve met have been friendly and welcoming. Staff are also helpful and friendly. Food and dining experience has been good also. We’re still in the process of moving things from our old home into our new space but our overall first impressions have been favorable.

Overall, it was a good place. The lack of communication with the Director [name removed] was the biggest problem during our time there. Paying [fee removed] a month should at least entitle the family to be kept in the loop and contacted personally, not in a form letter which didn't even say why the increase in cost and the level of care was necessary. That was VERY disappointing! I talked to her nurses to find out what had changed, but none of them knew why she needed a higher level of care. They then also retroactively raised the cost of her care to charge additional money for the month that had already been paid for! The only other issue we had was one of the female dining room workers scolding us for not seating my mom at her "assigned" table. I was only yelled at one time, but it has happened 2 or 3 times to my sister and her husband. I must say that the Admissions person [name removed], the Head Nurse [name removed] and one of my mom's nurses [name removed]were incredible, extremely kind, extremely caring, extremely compassionate and a pleasure to deal with.

Like a lot of people is Assisted Living we had to sell my mothers house to finance my mothers stay at Juniper Village even though she has a monthly pension of [amount removed] It's an excellent place for your aging parents that need 24 hour assistance. It's a bit expensive, but your love ones are well taken care of. Also I spend approx [amount removed] a month via Amazon having my mother diapers, bed pads, body wash, nitrile gloves and baby wipes delivered to Juniper Village every month. Overall my mother's health has improved a lot this past year being in Assisted Living although she still continues to have short term memory loss.

Yes I would recommend to others and I have but let them know the food is an on going issue. The cost of living at Juniper village isn't inexpensive so they should do a better job with the food. Location to my home was a major factor. Also the facility is beautiful and well kept inside and out.

Overall, everything has gotten better since they transitioned their management company to Juniper in March of this year. In the six months that they’ve taken over they’ve already done a survey and have scheduled a meet and greet with the residents and the new management team. The meeting is after hours, so resident advocates can attend as well which I think is great. The cost of the apartment which includes maintenance and meals is very expensive, especially considering the cost for the level of care a resident is assessed is added to the apartment fee. It is comparable to other facilities in NJ and the area where it’s located; however, Juniper is a newer facility and nicer than the others.

Juniper is a caring community with wonderful staff. My family has been grateful for all the care they're providing to our mom. We would recommend Juniper to other families.

Everyone is super friendly. Like that independent & assisted living is mixed, not separated. There is not enough community space for bingo, crafts, cards, etc. there is no large community room.

It's a wonderful plane. There has been a recent change in the food service that my Mom is not happy with, but other than that we have been very happy. We picked this community because of the price. There was a move in special at the time

We chose Juniper Village at Monroeville because of feedback from from people we knew who had family members in this facility. Some of the younger staff can be impatient with residents. I would recommend this facility.

Some staff members are better than others. If you happen to get a care giver you don't like for any reason, you should know to ask for leadership to switch the staff person to another caregiver. That worked really well for us as there was a caregiver who my mother in law thought was too rough. We complained and they switched people with no problem. The place is quite nice compared to many other similar facilities: it's really nice that it's in an old stone building that was purpose built as a care facility. The entertainment spaces are lovely. The chapel is unique amongst peer institutions (although [name removed] did not use it).

Good baseline facility. Offers 24 hour nursing response. in one case, our family member senior, we staying for a short time, was left unattended, even though he called for help in the room in the evening, raising a question of consistent response. Food is Acceptable but not upscale, featuring a half shot glass at cocktail hours, and typically white bread open face turkey sandwich, or sloppy Sam's.

I would tell anyone interested in finding an assisted living for a loved one that Juniper Village, although not the newest, largest, or most modern facility out there, the staff engagement with the residents is the best I've seen. Every time I am there, there is something going on and the living room is usually filled with residents doing something. We chose Juniper Village because my Mother is a social person who needs to be with people. She is always busy, sometimes not having time for me when I visit. This turned out to be a great fit.

The personal attention from the aids and nurses to my loved one and based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend Juniper Village to other families

Juniper Village at Lebanon is a nice place and my father in law seems to like it there. It is a very good place for the cost and I would recommend this community to other families who may need a place for their loved ones.

Overall the experience with the community is good. There is a need to improve on the area of communication. I would recommend this facility to others however I have found that other places are not as expensive and offer more services.

With the friendliness of the staff about 90% of the staff are a 5 There are two or three aids that are a 2.5, and same goes for the care services. However based on the experience we have had so far, we would very much so recommend this community to other families.

Overall experience. 4 for assisted living, 2 for skilled nursing. Juniper's skilled nursing facility is in need of a major cosmetic overhaul. It is very dark and dingy, compared to the assisted living side, which is very bright and cheerful. We moved my mom here after a hospital stay that resulted in the need for assisted living. The building is relatively new and I was impressed with how wide the common hallways were as well as the ability for the apartment to be wheelchair accessible if needed. I love that they blend independent and assisted living together, it make the whole atmosphere more positive and lively, plus allows for someone to arrive independent and move to assisted without letting go of friends or activities. The staff are all very friendly and yet professional. They strive to get to know the residents personally. There are a lot of onsite actor my mom to get involved in, plus they have onsite PT, podiatry, dermatology and PCP. Overall it has been a very positive experience so far.
