My loved one likes their apartment very much and the staff are very friendly and helpful. But the food is AWFUL. They definitely need to up their game on food. The pictures of what my loved one sends me are pathetic and disrespectful. If they can't get decent staff to cook perhaps they should cater in the food.

Tour Review
Our family had an in person tour and we thought the staff were very friendly staff and residents. The facility is well-kept though much older than heritage. We went with [community name removed] because there was an immediate opening.

Highly recommend, very enticing for those who are not ready to go to a facility
He is having a little trouble adjusting since he has lived along his whole life, but the facility is absolutely wonderful. I would go there myself. It is not too big and not too small and there is just the right amount of residents here and there are great activities provided. It is in the town we grew up in and his room overlooks the tennis courts at our old high school. the setting is very homey and secluded, it is close to everything but you would never know. They are working on a program and a family member of one of the residents is taking orders and going to the store and delivering the groceries to the residents door for a little fee. The food is amazing, he is getting one meal a day and I get the menu emailed to me and everything looks great and they get large portions. There is a separate menu if they do not like what is being served and they get to choose their meals for the whole week the week before-hand. The facility is well maintained and very safe, great with their covid protocols. The staff have been great and go above and beyond. He is settling in and starting to socialize with residents and we would highly recommend Wilkinson Woods to others looking.

Your parent will love this place
We toured about three other places and then our last tour was at Wilkinson Woods. We both knew right when the door opened that that is where mom wanted to be.
[name removed] met us at the door and welcomed us like no other tour had done. Now, when you walk in, you will notice that Wilkinson Woods does not have all the "bells and whistles" that other places might have but let me tell you, THIS PLACE will top any other facility in Lake Country.
The staff is wonderful; answering moms' questions and concerns, assisting far beyond what is requested, and most of all treating mom as if she were family. She looks forward to lunch time as soon as she wakes in the morning just so she can sit for an hour with her three other new found "sisters."
I cannot say enough about the care and the love mom has received at Wilkinson Woods. The staff is the glue that makes that place "home." They know their residents and know what ways to help, assist, get them involved and make them welcomed.

Highly recommend
Our loved one is a very fussy and picky eater, but they have managed to make her meals and give her meals that she is really enjoying. The activities are still pretty minimal, but she does enjoy bingo on Friday's. The value for cost compared to others, we do feel that it is very good.

Simply the best!
Assisting my parents in their move to Wilkinson Woods was the best thing I have ever done. The environment is clean, bright and always festive for holidays. But what brings this facility to the top of list is the interpersonal skills or soft skills the staff brings to their residents. They know their residents! Staff makes their special days (birthdays, anniversaries' etc) so memorable. My parents, although independent, are always involved with engaging activities and events. Family is always sent pictures, by the staff, to show your loved ones in the events. STAFF CARES and that's what is so important to me. My parents have never been happier! Thanks especially to [name removed] for her efforts in making Wilkinson Woods such an exceptional place to live.

Have no complaints
I haven't found anything to complain about. The administrator we have dealt with from day one, has been nothing but up front in anything we question, or ask .. She's willing to keep some kind of normalcy in todays UNnormal world. The nurse on staff, has been straight forward in any of our inquiries.
After the challenges of 2020, I'm thankful that my mother has more pairs of eyes, and while my brother and I are included in any decisions, I'm thankful for all that they do to help our life come back to some kind of normal.
My mother does not do change very well, and instead of letting her become a hermit that she would normally do, they prodded her without forcing her to come back out of her shell, and she is starting to enjoy the staff, and the other residents, even making some friends already (only have been there for 1 month) .
I would highly recommend Wilkinson Woods .. and feel very comfortable that mom is getting the care that she is needing now at 93 years.
(activities .. only 4 stars, because she is just starting to get involved in them .. from what we have seen and heard, can very comfortably upgrade to 5 stars as she gets more involved)

Great place! Wonderful staff!
We have been so pleased with the facility and the staff at Wilkinson Woods! It is a smaller assisted living facility than some of the others in the area and it has a cozy, family- like feeling. The staff makes a tremendous effort to make sure that each resident has a positive experience and they have lots of different activities and events to get each resident involved. The nursing staff are excellent at providing the care my dad needs.

Wilkinson Woods Oconomowoc
I can not say enough good things about Wilkinson Woods Assisted Living. My mother made her home there in May, 2017 after losing my father. She was depressed and afraid and confused when she entered. She is now a thriving, happy and involved resident who said "it is the best place she could have imagined for herself" She loves all of the activities and caring staff and has made many new friends. Our family is forever grateful for all they have to offer and their excellent care!
