Review for The Village at Sugarland Assisted Living and Memory Care
The most difficult decision we made was for Mom to transition from home to Memory Care but I was immediately relieved upon meeting the staff at The Village at Sugar Land Assisted Living and Memory Care. My mom moved in and was celebrated, cared for, and comforted during her time there. It was obvious she cared for the staff and they knew her well and cared for her which brought peace to our family when we could not be there with her as much as we would have liked. Mom suffered from alzheimers and couldn't make sense of where she was but she often said that she wasn't sure where she was but she felt like it was a church or something like a church because everyone was so kind and happy! I am forever grateful for the care she received and the compassion and empathy we experienced during her time there and especially as she passed and found eternal peace. Thank you to the staff, residents, and family members of the residents at The Village!

A great choice
1.Overall experience 4 - generally very positive but there were some issues along the way 2.Cleanliness of the facility 5 - apartments are cleaned weekly, trash collected daily, bedding changed and washed as needed, common areas and hall restrooms cleaned regularly 3.Friendliness 5 - the administrative staff and caregivers were very friendly and compassionate 4.Quality of care 4 - no concerns about the actual care but there were times when it took a long time for caregivers to respond to a call for assistance 5.Administrative staff 4 - sudden change in director position, lack of communication about who to go to during the interim, but administrative team otherwise very friendly, helpful, and responsive 6.Food 3 - when my parents first went the food was amazing, flavor and variety, but then the chef changed and the menu was repetitive and boring 7.Activities 5 - nice variety of activities to include everyone and suggestions were accepted and added to the schedule. My parents started a Women of Faith group and a book club 8.Value for the money 4 - the price wasn't exorbitant but for what we were paying we would have liked (1) faster response times to calls for assistance and (2) a more varied and tasty menu. We chose them because they were one of only 2 places in the area that will allow a Hoyer lift and my dad did end up needing one and the staff was super willing to learn how to use it

Best place for my Mom
We moved my mom in more than 2 years ago right after the place opened. She came from another assisted living that was part of a big chain and was horrible. This place brand new and is really bright and beautiful, the food is way better than others. It was about the same price as others. Everyone seemed friendly and the best thing was the owners were there every day . Originally she had a really nice little one bed apartment on the AL side. But then dementia started to take hold so she was moved to the memory care. They keep more of an eye on them in memory care I slept better at night knowing she was in this place, it was really nice, extremely secure, clean and above all she was happy there. Which really made me happy because she absolutely hated the one she was in before. My mom passed away last week and I couldn’t believe how many people from this place called or texted me to give condolences. They really care. i thank them all for taking care of my mom!

Our Experience
The staff communicates with the family if there is a problem or your family member is low or out of personal items. Housekeeping cleans every week and the trash is collected everyday, if needed. The meals are okay and they have a list of options to pick from if you don't want the featured meal. They have activities daily and a field trip once a week. They also have musicians that come from time to time. They encourage the residents to be out of their rooms during the day and socialize with other residents.

Review for The Village at Sugarland Assisted Living and Memory Care
The place is new and nice, but the service is not great. There is a ton of turnover with the staff and overall they are not the most personable group. For a place that claims to be pet friendly, they hire a lot of people that are not friendly to pets.

Generally pleased
I would say that the staff is generally very kind and compassionate but there is frequent turnover so they are often being newly trained. The upper management is very available and responsive when issues arise When my parents first moved in, they had a really good chef so for their first month, they had delicious meals and a nice variety, but then that chef left and the new chef is delivering a menu that is much more bland and repetitive. One other thing I should mention is that the policy of the place is that when my dad presses his button, someone will respond within 20 minutes. That's a long time to wait when you need help. That was not clearly communicated when we were touring the place I really do love the place, and no place is perfect, but that wait time is kind of a big deal

Very nice community, caring workers and owners, clean, highly recommend
Areas of improvement would be communication which also would help quality of care...I know all these places struggle with turnover and being short staffed which has to be really challenging...I honestly don't know how many activities they really do in memory care...it didn't seem like there were many organized...wish that would have been better - they have a lot of activities in assisted living - my mom was only on that side though for 3 months and then in MC for 8 months

Safe and secure
The security is very good. They have cameras all throughout the facility. Front doors are always locked. Visitors are either buzzed from the front desk or, after hours, the on site staff are called and they open the front door for you.

The Village at Sugar Land Memory Care has been an absolute blessing for my mom since her recent move. The warmth and friendliness exuded by the entire team have made her transition seamless and comforting. Not only is the environment immaculately clean, but the dedication of the staff is truly exceptional. The team's commitment to providing excellent care while maintaining a friendly and welcoming atmosphere has been incredibly reassuring for both my mom and our family. The genuine kindness and support they offer create an environment that truly feels like home. I couldn't be more grateful for the care and attention my mom receives every day. It's reassuring to see her thriving in such a caring and nurturing community. The Village at Sugar Land Memory Care has exceeded our expectations in every way possible. love the operation team
i have to move my mother from another facility to here, this is the 4th facility, and hope to be the final one. Its been 6 months,i understand staff turnover,i run a family buisness, but this facility operation team on top of it, my mother says she sees people they are interviewing daily morning for job, they are doing their level best, many people don't want to work, but this team is very good, mother loves her friends, she always sits in the lobby areas when ever i visit,i always had very positive experience with all the staff.my mother gets excellent therapy in the building, she is doing much better since she moved in here.i bet my money into a good operational team, and i believe this facility has it.

The Perfect Fit
The Village at SugarLand off of first looks was the most clean and the had the best vibe. Me and My family were taking a tour around the facility and throughout the entire tour the staff treated us with nothing but upmost respect. I also tried the food that the chef was serving and we would all agree that it was fantastic. Overall I would say that the Village at Sugarland was the best out of the many options that we visited. They provide the best care for their clients and the residents are always having fun.
