Monarch is like home with a big family.
I was happy when they changed management companies, that they retained most if not all of the existing personnel. Love the staff there, very friendly and attentive. Feel the cost is high, but you get what you pay for and my mother is very happy.

Horrible experience and would never recommend
Poet’s Walk is there for money, they don't care about the residents care. My mom had a terrible experience with this facility and I have to move her to another facility for better care.
Mom fell in this facility in her room and they never realize mom fell for almost three hours. When they were suppose to make rounds hourly. She was left wet with urine all the time. The nurse director is always clueless.
I would never ever recommend this facility to friends or family

Went downhill
I put my mom in Poet's Walk right before COVID and took her out in August of 2022. The place really looked good when we initially put mom in the facility. They had entertainment two times a week and it appeared as though it was a nice large facility that mom could have the room to move around. Once we were allowed back in the facility after COVID, I became aware that they were not taking care of my mom. The Staff lacked the experience, often did not put mom's dentures in her mouth, sometimes it looked like they were not bathing her because of her greasy hair, did not often dress her appropriately for the weather, and they allowed moms drinks to run down her top as she was having a harder time eating. When I took my mom out of this facility, it took over 45 work days to get my money returned. Corporate also would not return my phone calls when I was trying to get my money back. There was a huge turnover of employees and the facility got rid of key people.

Beautiful facility but make sure you take the time to dig under the covers.
The cleanliness was up and down due to a lot of turn over. My mother did not participate in the activities due to her condition however, there was always something going on for the residents as I could see. I would say to take your time and look around. While people are very nice and very friendly there is a lot of turnover. While this industry has a lot of turnover there was a lot of turnover. The administration has completely turned over in the time that my loved one has been here. I am hoping that with this turn over things will begin to get better. One of the red flags to me was that I asked to speak to other family members or residents and they would tell me they would let me speak to someone and then they would never provide the references.

You'll Be Happy with Poet's Walk
Like with any memory care community, you get out of it what you put into it. Having good relationships with the staff, medical personnel, and care partners makes all the difference in the world. But what I will tell you about Poet's Walk is that every single person there is positive and eager to help. They're interested in what is best for the residents. Despite challenges that every place is facing right now regarding shortages and changes in personnel, they are still providing terrific care.. The food is a bit institutional, but they work very hard to do a good job with it.

A Poet's Walk is a Great and Safe Place for Your Loved One to Reside
The food is really good. The staffing in the dining room needs to better equipped to assist with feeding the residents that need this assistance. The community is improving on things each day. This is still the best community after looking at multiple communities in the area. The staff get to know your loved one and their care needs. Once they learn the needs of your loved one they do a good job. The staff is very receptive to any questions, concerns, or changes the family or your loved one may need.

Very happy I made the choice to place my mother there.
They're very accommodating. My loved one received very good care. The staff were wonderful. Cleanliness was good overall, spotless in the common areas, but my loved one's individual room could have used some attention at times, including small things on the floor that should have been cleaned/swept up. They had a lot of activities to keep the residents engaged.

A Place Hoped for for Mom or Dad
They were excellent here. The director who ran the place was an excellent communicator. The ratio of staff to residents left plenty of staff available per person. That very well could have been that they had a bigger percentage of dementia patients to care for. The food was decent, a notch better than where we moved to when we moved to a different area. It was relatively easy to leave communications and notes regarding my loved one's care. Communication is key when you're on this side of your family member's care. And their communication was great. I attribute most of that to the director. He'd had a personal experience with a loved one passing, and it was a big awakening for him. He was just very good.

my review poet's walk
The community talks a good story but it takes a long time for things to get corrected, if it is fixed it goes back to the way it was after a short time.
They do a lot of things well but I have problems with medication, but they have had a good plan for Covid.
I have had issues with some of her basic care and have had to complain.
there is a high turnover with the staff so when things are corrected and someone leaves we have to start over again.
They did start garden visits so we could see our loved one and that was nice.
I would not recommend this community
