Review for Santa Fe Trails Assisted Living and Memory Care
It's a good place. The staff is friendly and attentive. The facilities are clean. We've had no problems. I do think it's a little pricey as they went up on costs last year, conveniently the same time that SS payments increased and by the same amount which was kind of disappointing. But I get it that everything costs more the last few years. I just wonder if they'll go down if there costs do. I doubt it.

Beautiful facility
As a family we are so very thankful mom is at Santa Fe Trails. The facility is beautiful, the staff is top notch, and mom is so happy here!
I think the only area that might be improved on is the timely arrival of food at meal times. Mother says she has to wait a long time for the food to make it to her table at some meals.

A Place Where your loved one will be loved
Staff is very warm and friendly. My mom loves that they call her by her name. (She's not just a room number to staff). She is pleased with the housekeeping and very pleased with the care they take in doing her laundry. They have good communication with family. My mom walked in her room on move in day and they had a lovely basket of goodies...blankets, t shirts, etc. she was so excited about the gift basket upon entering her room for the first time. She likes the food very much and it seems like they really try to have things on the menu that this population enjoys. I absolutely cannot speak highly enough about this facility. My mom is thriving. She feels loved and valued. As a family, we are very impressed with the facility and could not be more thankful for this wonderful place!

We had a horrible experience w SFT & would never recommend this place for anyone or any animal for that matter. [Name removed] the administrator has no heart. She shows no compassion whatsoever.
I would give them a big fat zero on everything except for cleanliness and the food was good. However, the cloth dining table cloths were always dirty.
I had to report them to the state of Texas for leaving my loved one off oxygen for hours. My loved one was oxygen dependent at 3 liters.
We have received no acknowledgment from that place since my father died. No call, no text, no card. Heartless. I asked [name removed] to see the policy and procedure book and she refused. That is unlawful. It is against Texas law not to publicly have those available.
They are always short staffed in the memory care unit. With only 11 to 12 residents, there were four falls in the time my loved one was there. One resulted in a death.

Very Caring
This community is very favorable. It is a community I would recommend to others for their loved ones. The staff are very friendly. The community is nice and clean.
There are three meals a day served to the residents. There are several activities for the residents to participate in, if they choose to.

Great Place for Mom
It's a great facility. Everybody is very helpful, and they're great when I have questions or concerns. They have good activities. They've just done a remodel, so it's very clean. So far everything has been going good.

Great Facility
So far Santa Fe Trails has been great. The staff is friendly and welcoming. They really excel at taking care of everyone. There are a lot of activities offered. And the apartment is pretty standard for elderly care.

Worth a Visit
In memory care, the caregivers are calm and compassionate. And they really allow as much freedom for the residents as possible, which is nice to see. I think they are a little bit understaffed, but they do the best they can with what they have. It's an older facility but well kept, and they're remodeling. It's always clean and fresh looking, and the landscaping is fine. And the cost is in line with other places in the area.

This is a good community for a loved one that needed the type of care they provide here. The staff have been good at communicating with answers to my questions and addressing any concerns I may have. The staff are good at encouraging the residents to participate in the activities.
Some of the memory care activities include reading, mindfulness games, soda shop with ice cream, puzzles, and more for the residents to participate in if they choose to.
They have good security for the residents to be safe in the community. I would recommend the community to others.

Nurses are amazing and caring
Both of my parents live at Santa Fe Trails and my mother is in the Memory Care area and my father has his own apartment. Every nurse that takes care of them are amazing and so caring. I am so excited that my family decided to move my parents there. The only problem we have is, its a struggle to keep my parents there because of the cost. But looking around, they are all expensive. But they do take extremely great care of them.

Costs Just Keep Climbing
My mom is a long term resident of Santa Fe Trails. The staff and care have been mostly top-notch with less turnover than other places. The food is institutional - i.e. bland and unseasoned camp food... she is always complaining about the food but it is better than scout camp and most of the time it is palatable. The ONLY major complaint is the increase in cost... we started at competitive fees as we did shop around. A small yearly increase has occurred without complaint and she is requiring more supervision and care.
However, since January 2018 we have experienced one 10% increase in March and were just informed of a second increase of another 10%, increasing our amount to over $1000/MONTH or an extra $12,000 out of pocket each year. We are now shopping around, although our mom is quite happy where she is.

Nice place in a good area. Nice wide halls. Nice and quiet. Library, bistro, dining room, private dining room, activities room. Good open areas and good outdoor courtyard. Apartments are small though. Microwave and small refrigerator in kitchen area of apartment.

Parents are happy here
My parents have a 1 bedroom here and the attention is phenomenal. They will go and check on them every couple of hours. They have her on medication management which is working out great. T Daddy gets involved in the daily activities and they will try to engage mom to join in also. It is very clean with no odors. The food is good and has a fair variety. It has a very pretty courtyard area. I would recommend this community.

Options for dad
I wanted to find a community that my father would have been comfortable with. We liked the staff who were caring and answered my questions. The community was clean and they offer a lot of great meals and nice activities for the residents. We would recommend that families tour this community to see if it is what they are looking for.

I have nothing negative to say
My father in law likes living at this community. The caregivers treat him like family. The community is kept very nice. They offer daily activities including dance lessons. They have a salon on site where residents can get their hands and feet done as well as their hair. I can not imagine having him anywhere else and I would highly recommend this community.

Not the place!
We did like this community. It just did not feel as homey as some of the other places. The people answered all our questions and showed us the building. They were willing to work with us to make it work. We just choose somewhere else.

The Owners Are Amazing
Mom is doing pretty well in her new community. The owners are hands on and stay on top of all their residents. She is eating all her meals plus snacks, Mom likes the food. I am happy with the care here. The facility is a very nice place and kept clean. Mom has found a few people she knows here and it helps her getting use to the community.
