I loved that they cooked the meals and cookies right there in the middle of the home where everyone could see and smell. It never smelled like a nursing home. I would recommend to others.

Overall I think New Haven of Bastrop is doing a pretty good job.
They are short handed just like everyone else right now, but aside from that I think everyone is doing the best that they can do.
I would recommend this facility to others.

Thank you A Place For Mom
I have prayed about this for so long. I took care of my mother and it got to where I could not do it any longer. When we walked in to New Haven it was like one big family. It felt like walking into moms living room, it was so comfortable. They have a living area, dining area, and kitchen and it just felt very homey. I felt a sense of peace, everything was perfect so I did not have to go anywhere else. The thing I like about it the best is there is only 14 residents so it is a very small community and they consider each other brothers and sisters. There is a new activities director and I am anxious to see how that will work out. If we have had any issues they are resolved almost immediately. I would recommend them to others looking and actually already have.

I liked this community but the prices were on the higher side. They offered a good amount of care and amenities but it was just out of our range for our loved one. The tour was great.

Our families experience
The ladies who do the work and the care are very good, however the management was severely lacking. There was often only 2 ladies there for all the residents and we did not think that was adequate. There was also no director there at the time, and we are not sure of the reason. Due to the lack of staff, they weren't able to get back to us ever. We would call and we would rarely get a call back.

Sandy has placed new training methods to ensure all the staff are knowledgeable about the appropriate care, and we have placed in weekly training updates specifically on ways to handle the concerns listed in caring for our residents. We apologize for the lack of communication between your family, as we strive to have open communication with all of our families, especially around personalizing the care for your loved one. The staff at Newhaven Assisted Living-Bastrop is a center I highly recommend. The Administor, [name removed] has been awesome. She is very helpful with anything we ask. If she doesnt have the answer, she finds it. With Covid19 being the new normal, she has kept her residents healthy, active and engaged.
My father has been living here for almost 2yrs. The staff is exceptional in the care they give.

My mom has lived in the New Haven assisted living house for about 3 years. I love the fact that I know mom is watched over 24/7. Her medication is managed for her. The facility Is beautiful and has a homey feel. I would highly recommend New Haven!

Our Mom [name removed] passed away in [date removed]. She spent the final 15 months of her life at New Haven Assisted Living and Memory Care in Bastrop, Texas where she received exceptional and personalized care led by New Haven administrator [name removed], and her dedicated staff. New Haven provided the best alternative setting for mom to live at home. New Haven provided a variety of entertainment, social activities, freshly cooked meals and a sense of belonging which assisted the frustration of losing her independence. Because of this high quality care, as well as the empathy and care shown towards her, especially in her final days, our family will be forever grateful.

I really enjoyed the building, the administrator was very helpful. spent a lot of time with us even though we couldn't afford to put mom here. She made sure I got in touch with the right people for extra help at home and VA benefits. Made us feel very comfortable and I hope one day we can put mom there.

This is a great place except for the food and all the things that break and don't function. The food has been terrible the last year but it is improving. This could be a wonderful place but all of its problems push it down to only acceptable.
