Overall experience. \nJust as a note, The Meadows had decided she would fair better at their sister location, a group home of about 6 bedrooms called, Oaktree Place Senior Living. \nUltimately my mother stayed with them until her passing in the beginning of February. During that time, and though I lived on the other side of the country, the in-house staff was very communicative and accommodating via FaceTime so I often had the ability to see what was going on. There was some dissonance between one of my family members and the staff that got a little complicated for the latter half of my mother’s time there but after my due diligent investigation it turned out my family member was just stirring up some issues with staff that should not have gotten to the point it did. [name removed] the staff handled it very well and I appreciate the care they took with my mother. \n2. Cleanliness. \nVia FaceTime and other family/friends visiting I was confirmed that the place was squeaky clean on a regular basis. \n3. Friendliness of staff.\nI really only interfaced with three people but it was a small group home so that was totally fine. They did have to deal with some issues that came via my family member, and while they had their differences I feel like they handled the situation the best they could so that we didn’t have to find a new home for my mother. There was never a point I felt concerned even while some of the issues with my family member was occurring. And to be honest, I apologize to them many times over. \n4. Quality of care. \nBeing a small group home there was time for more focus. At least from everything I could see and what was reported back to me. \n5. Meals/Dining.\nHome made meals were prepared daily and they did there best to assist my mother as she got to a point where she had to be fully assisted. \n6. Activities. \nGiven my mother’s status upon moving in there wasn’t too much she could do but they did their best to bring some cheer to her by decorating for the holidays. They even bought her some Christmas pajamas to wear on Christmas which I thought was very cute. \n7. Value for Cost.\nThese things are never cheap but it was great to know that money wasn’t going to poor care.
