They need engaging games
She needs more people of their staff. They have nice activities, but ny cousin is in her 60ies, but there is nobody less than 70 and they are not easy to let anyone new in. They also don't celebrate all the holidays. They have a book review group and I think they may need some art classes.

Great home for our 90 yo Mom
My sisters and I were looking at assisted living for our 89 yo mom in the summer of '14. We were referred to this place by Innovage. We moved her in August and now at 15 months it has been wonderful for her. She is a retired RN who was DoN at multiple skilled nursing and assisted living facilities in Denver. I am also an RN and have worked some of them as a temp. LP is exceptional. This is an older building, former housing for officers at Lowry AFB. Her room includes 1 bedroom with a generous sitting area where the kitchenette is and a private 3/4 bath. The apartments have locked doors and glass french doors from sitting to bedroom. Common option in other facilities is a shared room with possibly a curtain between the beds. At best you have room for a chair or a small desk. The apartment was big enough to bring some of Mom's favorite furniture, especially antiques. She can have 2 guests comfortably, all 3 daughters is a little tight but no problem. I think for most elderly, this is a nice balance between enough room and not too much. The layout and architecture are very nice for 75+ seniors. I'm 63 and I like it. The common areas are very good sized allowing room for the many residents in scooters or with walkers. The halls are not hospital bright lighting, but good for apartment style housing. Less institutional. The food is really very good. It was one thing that a friend of my sisters told us about the place when her mother moved there just a month before we started looking. The two have become good friends. Mom is too limited to go on outings much. She has made many friends and often goes to Great Lawn Park next to Lowry Park to enjoy the water, ducks and mountain views. The day to day care has been quite good. We have had a few issues with maintenance and medications. Some of that was related to safety issues for the elderly. That aspect is very good. Several pull cords are in her apartment and she has had to use one once. I just visited her yesterday. 15 months at LP and now 90, she still raves about how lucky she was we found it and how happy she is overall.

They need to have some games that engages them as a group, so that the newbies get to meet the others and such. or an outside area that is fenced off, instead of the outside where the cars are.

Look elsewhere
Staff is not friendly to residents. They ignore problems. Many residents are unhappy with no one to vent their complaints. Food is good!!!! Overall atmosphere is very depressing to family and residents both.

It was a nice place.
We toured this community when we were searching. It was a nice place, it was clean, and the staff was friendly. It came down to location for us, and another one was closer. We didn't have any concerns about this place though.

Nice community, great value
A friend of mine recommended this place. Her mother has lived at Lowry Park for 2+ years and she raved about the staff & management, programs and overall value. It is probably one of the most reasonably priced communities in the Denver area. It's an older building and a bit outdated but it was clean and the residents looked happy. They are undergoing much needed improvements to furnishings and decor. We visited in January 2014 and returned in May 2014 and noticed a lot of improvement! We revisited again in August as we are getting closer to making a decision on where to place my father and learned that there has been a lot of recent turnover with staff, including management, which is very concerning to us. What we like most about this community is the overly large lobby area through the main entrance. Every time we visited there were always several residents in this area reading, playing piano, card games, an activity going on. No one looked alone. The building is situated next to a park which has many walking paths. This is something you don't see at other communities. The outdoors is important to my father so this will be a top factor in our decision. I was told that there would be a price increase in October so I hope that the community will still be reasonably priced. Not looking to make decision till the end of the year. Also want to make sure it's still going to be a good community after new staff & management are settled. Overall, a good place.

There were features that mom liked, particularly the laundry on each floor and the open space on each floor. There is no kitchen, just a sink and a under the counter refrig. I had concerns about activities, there were sign up sheets with waiting lists for each activity. Sounded like there was only a 12 passenger van. Didn't have a good feel to me, nothing I could put my finger on.

I Didn't Have A Good Feeling About Them
When I walked in I didn't have a good feeling. It seemed like people were put out and neglected. I just didn't feel good about that one. It was really dark. I thought the places that they had for people to live were pretty nice but the hallways were dark.
