Tour left me feeling uneasy
I toured The Heritage at Eldridge Parkway and left feeling very uneasy. The building looks nice when you walk in, but the atmosphere didn’t feel warm. Staff seemed busy and not really focused on the residents. When I asked questions, I couldn’t get clear answers, which made me feel like communication would be a problem if my loved one lived here. It just didn’t give me the peace of mind I was hoping for.

The only good reviews are from Autumn Leaves NOT Heritage
Current facility and owners are operating under Heritage ([date removed] to current) NOT Autumn Leaves(pre [date removed]!) So only positive reviews are from YEARS AGO! I could go on and on about everything i saw and how many executive directors have come and gone not to mention staff and nursing directors. The owners work out of Florida and ignored seriously egregious maintenance failures. Anytime looking at a facility ask how long the Executive Director or other core mgmt staff have been in place; that says everything.

Lies and Deception
I have been very transparent and honest with the staff. However, the staff nurse is diagnosing on her own which is a violation of laws. I have called, been concerned, and have done all I can do to find out the truth. The whole staff are are in this nonsense together. Please be aware of everything your loved one is going through and be diligent to report them if necessary.

Confused
I call and leave many messages to check or ask questions about my mom and they never answer the phone nor return calls. This a red flag flying high to me. They may not know my name but they don't have every family members name if they don't answer calls. Highly inappropriate for a place to care for a loved when there's no communication. I would not recommend for anyone who cares and love your family. I pray my mom is not being mistreated and God is protecting her.

Our experience
I really like their administrative staff and the caretakers, they were all very sweet and tried to make my dads stay best as possible and listened to our needs and concerns. My dad is more advanced in his Alzheimer's and they were not equipped to handle his care. I think facilities need to say what they are able to specialize in. This facility is more equipped to handle individuals who have earlier stages of Alzheimer's.

Super happy with Autumn Leaves
We LOVE Autumn Leaves. We had such a hard time finding a place that would accept my Dad because he is further along in his dementia and like at one point we felt we had hit a dead end. But when we got a hold of the folks at Memorial City they immediately were attentive where other facilties in the area wouldn't even call back. We can honestly say we couldn't be happier because everyone there is so kind and making my Dad and us feel so appreciated.

I am guardian for my brother-in-law, and he has lived at Autumn Leaves since July 2016. The family has been extremely pleased with the facility, the staff, the dinenities, the activities, and the care of our family member. The director has gone beyond expectations with he communications with us, with her concern and care. We are delighted with his care and his surroundings.

I would never put another loved one here again. They are understaffed. Room and board is about the extent of it. Food is mainly carbs. Pasta, rice and bread with very little protein. Medical attention is almost none existent. Turnover is high and employees are unhappy as a whole. My heart goes out to those residence who are at their mercy.

Looks like a perfect fit!
It is a super clean and beautiful facility. It passed the "smell" test hands down. [Removed] and her staff were gracious and welcoming to everyone in our family. There were various activities going on as we toured and there was a delicious smell in the air the whole time. Every question and concern was answered with genuine care. It looks like it will be the perfect fit for our needs when the time comes.

They make you feel right at home
Autumn Leaves of Memorial City is a lovely facility. They go out of their way to make our loved one feel a part of the group and community. The facilities are lovely. It is a very warm and inviting atmosphere. It is very clean and it smells fresh and clean. They try to encourage all of the residents to participate. They have a lot of activities that are also therapeutic to fit the needs of the residents. They have numerous nicely landscaped secured courtyards where they have BBQ's and walking paths. They can walk out anytime and enjoy the fresh air. Their security is excellent. We don't worry about them wandering off. There are hotels nearby for the family members who come from out of town to visit within five minutes to Autumn Leaves. We can take him out to nearby parks and restaurants. He has a made a buddy and it's great to see him socialize. His mobility is better, he has lost weight and he looks better than he has in four years, and I think it is because he is getting proper care. It's located in a very nice and safe neighborhood. I also have to say what a wonderful job A Place For Mom did in helping us find a place when no one else would. We were passed from social worker to social worker with no help at all. It was unbelievable all the support and guidance that A Place For Mom provided for us, Thank you!

Very pleased with the help from Senior Advisor
I contacted Senior Advisor and I swear that before I hit "enter," they called me -- I mean it was really almost instantaneously after I submitted the online form. They were very helpful in a time of great stress. They pointed me to 5 different senior homes I could visit that SAME day and find a place for my dad to live. He had suddenly (I mean suddenly) gotten to the point with his Alzheimers that he needed placement soon, plus I was in the process of moving.
So, I visited 3 of the 5 and really liked Autumn Leaves in Memorial City in Houston, Tx. We moved him in, a process which took just a few days, maybe a week, and he was settled. Of course then my mom had to go to the hospital via life flight for an aortic aneurysm...wow a lot happened in just a few days!
She recovered, and now my dad lives in Autumn Leaves, just a few blocks away from my mom in Eagles Trace. He is in what they call a memory care unit which is what he needed and he is adjusting and doing well. I could NOT have accomplished all of this in such a short time without Senior Advisor's help. Not to mention the staff at Autumn Leaves.

Autumn leaves of Memorial City was a nice community. I enjoyed the tour. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. They offer a range of activities for residents to enjoy. I do not like that they have a high turnover ratio and recently lost their executive director.

Highly recommended for Alzheimer's care
Having a facility dedicated just for dementia care makes a difference. The staff is well trained to handle the unique problems that come with Alzheimer's, in addition to the typical needs of the elderly. Particular care is taken to know each resident personally, including his or her family and past history, in order to provide individualized care.
