The sales/marketing staff have been great. The kitchen and serving staff have been very good as well as the front desk staff and wellness team . I have had most trouble with getting response from maintenance. They did not have the bedroom closet door fully installed by the time mom moved in and it took weeks of asking before we got a response.

If your loved one is in need of a Memory Care facility..........
I should let you know that we left Creekside at the end of Feb. We were not pleased with the care plan (there wasn't one) and the costs seemed to increase regularly, without increased care. Communication was almost non-existent, and there was a lot of gaslighting by the management. The care staff were lovely, and that was about it! If your loved one is in need of a Memory Care facility, we highly recommend that you bypass Creekside. Care providers are lovely, but management is in need of serious improvement. Cost does not equal to the care provided.

Caring staff
The staff really cares - most of them. I have only had a couple of disappointing interactions. For the most part, the staff is great and goes out of their way to give the residents a great living experience. If there is anything we have needed, they have done whatever they could to make it happen. I am very grateful we have found Creekside for my uncle.

Overall, a nice community
Mostly everyone was friendly and helpful. Many of the caregivers spoke English as a second language, so communication was sometimes difficult. I don't know how they could improve on that though. My dad was only there for two months.

Highly recommended care
Creekside is the most vibrant, welcoming community we found in the Skagit valley with many activities and people to help make life full and fun. There are many loving, helpful staff members. The hardest part is the initial adjustment and figuring out who to talk to for which needs given high turnover and understaffing at times. Expect to be in close, constant touch with your loved one and advocating for their needs often if they're ill or their condition changes. But I believe this is the best place for our parents. Creekside is a place where I'd be glad to live if I need community and care in the future.

No compassion or fairness
Family of resident in memory care was notified of eviction with 7 days notice. High functioning resident observed that door would open without alarm by pushing on bar for 15 seconds. He took walks out. Not OK. But instead of counseling family that it wasn’t a good fit, they evicted. The letter noted that the spouse was partially to blame. As in saying the person walked out after talking to the spouse on the phone, suggesting causation. Nurse told spouse they couldn’t be trusted. Told other people spouse would soon need memory care. Ethics? Kindness?

Creekside was everything and more for our family. Warm yet professional, they always made us feel welcome and took such good care of my "second mom." I cannot say enough about Creekside. I would like to live here if I needed assisted living!

Not impressed
Very expensive and every service is “a La carte”. Food is not great, and sometimes doesn’t get to mom’s room at all. Facility needs updating, paint, gutter repairs, etc. We’ve had issues with med changes that Hospice has ordered; issues with caregivers not removing soiled linens, laundry that is marked not coming back, silverware missing; nobody comes back to turn off nebulizer at times. Common excuses for issues is “it’s the weekend, and we’re short staffed”. Nothing that I want to hear for the thousands we are paying each month!

Review for Creekside Continuing Care Community
As a family we remained closely involved with our loved one's care. We developed a good relationship with the staff at Creekside and they worked with us to make sure our loved one got the care we expected. We would recommend Creekside to others. This is for their memory care and hospice. We didn't have any experience with their assisted living.

We visited several independent living, assisted living, and memory care homes in broader Skagit County. Creekside is, by far, the best graduated care community that we found and its residents are very welcoming. It's bright, pretty, and always clean. The food is great and there are two dining areas with flexible hours, and several activities each day. Most importantly, the front desk concierges and caregivers that our parents interact with most are always attentive, loving, and friendly. They got to know their needs within a short period of time, go above and beyond for us every day, and already feel like family. This is golden during a stressful transition time. The only drawback has been that while nice and well appointed, the assisted living apartments are a little small for two people, which was the case everywhere that we looked.

My Experience
I am a resident at Creekside Continuing Care Community and things have been mostly great. They need to spruce up some things, age is beginning to show. They have started however, for example, replacing windows. But getting them to take care of something that needs fixing can take forever!

My loved one is currently a resident at Creekside Continuing Care Community. Overall, the experience at this facility has been good so far. The staff is very friendly. However, the communication and follow through with the family needs improving. The food is good and the residents are given multiple options.

Lively community
They are very friendly and everyone makes a point to learn your name. The food is generally good, often very good. Lots of activities provided, had a 50's party and an Elvis Impersonator yesterday. Bingo and root beer floats today. All apartments have an outside window, balconies on upper floors.

Tips for evaluating your community options

Safety is a primary concern when seniors and their families look for Assisted Living. To ensure that a community meets your needs and expectations, we recommend that seniors and family members:

  • Know Washington’s regulations for memory care. Each state has its own laws and inspection processes to ensure seniors reside in a safe environment. Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the communities you’re considering. Learn more about Washington’s regulations for memory care and download the Guide to Senior Living Licensure and Inspection Reports.

  • Tour the location. Touring allows you to speak to current residents and staff, and it helps you confirm the accuracy of the community description and photos. Use our touring checklist to help guide your visit.

  • Confirm the availability of required services. Before committing, make sure that the community offers all the services your loved one needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.

A Place for Mom has scored Creekside Continuing Care Community 8.9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.   We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.   Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
