Thumbs Up for Concordia Village
My husband and I have been at Concordia Village, Springfield, Illinois for three and a half years and couldn't be happier. From our original inquiry, the pre-move planning which was unexpected and very beneficial, and our experience living here, we are very satisfied. We have never experienced an unpleasant Staff Member, or had a problem getting answers to questions or getting something fixed. The food choices are numerous and always good and there is a nice variety of activities. We highly recommend Concordia Village Springfield, IL.

Our Royal Cruise
Friends always ask us how we like our new home at Concordia Village and we tell them it is just like a CRUISE - only we do not get sea sick! The staff bend over backward to make sure all our needs are met and are so friendly and helpful. The food is great and we have lots of choices. The residents are well mannered and happy to have new residents join them at their dinner table to get acquainted. Lots of classes and entertainment available we can partake in or not as we choose. We truly give CONCORDIA a 5* rating. [Name removed] and [Name removed]

What a great way to live in my senior years.
I have lived here for over 6 years. I do not think there could be a better place for me. I attend 10 exercise classes a week. I play bridge, pinochle, rummikub, hands & foot, go for walks around our campus with the lovely landscaping, eat luscious meals in our dining rooms, attend bible classes and church services, get good books to read from our well stocked library, go swimming indoors, and there is a art room for art projects including ceramics. There are all kinds of concerts, informative classes and parties held here and there is a movie theater with movies to go see everyday of the week. I still have my car in a garage here and I can come and go as I please. I am well cared for and feel safe and protected.

Great Place for Seniors to Live
We have lived at Concordia Village over three years and have not been disappointed in our decision. Everyone is so friendly. The Concordia Staff is super friendly and helpful. We have made so many friends and enjoy sharing a dining table with them in our beautiful dining room. The waiters are either high school or college students and they are a delight. The food is excellent with a varied menu. There are fitness and balance classes and a large pool offering many types of water exercises including an organized water volleyball team. Religious services are held for all on Sunday and the various denominations have services throughout the week. Our apartments are cleaned every two weeks. There are so many varied activities internally and entertainment comes in from the outside. The movie theater is attended by many. We can use the beauty salon if we choose as well as see a visiting doctor. The Concordia bus takes you to your medical appointments if you do not drive. A wood shop is available too. All in all, we think it’s a great place to live.

An Active Lifestyle Community.
Lifestyle and Contium of Care are what attracted us to Concordia. We looked at similar facilities in Florida, Alabama, and Colotado. Concordia was the best for us. The staff is friendly. The programs for the active lifestyle we were used to. The pool offered the type of aquatic program for us. There is something to do all the time. People are missing a great opportunity and should take a look at Concordia.

Easy living for your golden years.
It's like living on a cruise ship. Guarantee you won't get sea sick. Great meals available when you are. Lunch 11:00am to 2:00pm and Dinner 4:30pm to 7:00pm. Exercise classes, swimming pool, all sorts of activities and various group counseling sessions are available. Friendly folks all anxious to help and make you feel right at home. Talk about cleanliness every morning on my way to exercise I usually encounter a gentleman riding a giant vacuum through the carpeted hall ways. Clean your apartment twice a month. It's hard to imagine how much better living here can improve your quality of life. You'll never need feel lonely again.

LIFE AT CONCORDIA VILLAGE
HAVING LIVED ALONE FOR 10 YEARS BEFORE MOVING TO CONCORDIA, I VALUED MY "PRIVACY" AND INDEPENDENCE. BUT LIVING HERE HAS PROVEN TO BE PROBABLY ONE OF THE BEST DECISIONS I;VE MADE. LIVING IN A PATIO HOME, I CAN HAVE AS MUCH "ALONE" TIME AS I WANT BUT THERE ARE ALWAYS PEOPLE TO SOCIALIZE WITH. THE STAFF IS FANTASTIC, ALWAYS AVAIL TO HELP IF NEEDED. I HAVE RECONNECTED WITH OLD FRIENDS AND MADE MANY NEW ONES. AND THERE ARE SO MANY OPPORTUNITIES TO GET INVOLVED WITH AROUND "THE VILLAGE". ALL IN ALL, I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND LIFE AT CONCORDIA.

Choose Concordia Village
My husband and I moved to Concordia Village over 2 years ago. We were both close to 70 years old and are on the younger end of the residents who live here. However, we love it at Concordia Village. We have never felt negative about the choice to move here and know we did not come too early. We love all the opportunities available to us. We have tried new activities at Concordia Village which we would never have tried at our previous residence. We both are involved in the village life. The other residents are our Concordia Village family and we so enjoy the socialization. Both of us enjoy the exercise, creative opportunities, volunteering, and enjoying special events that take place at Concordia Village. The staff are marvelous. The food is delicious. I can't think of a negative thing about this place. The sooner one makes the move, the sooner one can enjoy everything Concordia Village has to offer.

Top notch!!
My wife enjoyed living at Concordia Village. The food was good and the staff were friendly. They offered a variety of activities. It was a little more costly. She needed a little more care than this community could provide which is why she moved out.

Tips for evaluating your community options

Safety is a primary concern when seniors and their families look for Assisted Living. To ensure that a community meets your needs and expectations, we recommend that seniors and family members:

  • Tour the location: Touring allows you to speak to current residents and staff, and helps you confirm the accuracy of the community description and photos. Use our touring checklist to help guide your visit.

  • Confirm the availability of required services: Before you commit, make sure that the community offers all the services your senior needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.

  • Know the Illinois regulations for Assisted Living: Each state has its own laws and inspections processes to ensure seniors reside in a safe environment. Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the community(ies) you’re considering. Learn more about Illinois regulations for Assisted Living.
