My and My parents 5 Year Experience at Avanti Senior Living at Augusta Pines
My personal experience
I brought my parent to Avanti Senior Living over 5 years ago. The first thing to attracted me was the layout of the building. The layout is made where the living quarter hallways all lead to the main area. The hallway either dead end requiring you to go in the other direction or the halls circle back to the main area. The building is also all one level, so no elevators or stair climbing is required. (a big plus for older residents). The main area is large, well kept and still looks new. There is a lot of area and places to visit with other or be alone.
The amenities are also good. The rooms are of different sizes to accommodate any need. Meals, snacks and events are included'
The most important part is the staff. From front desk to administration, med techs and care givers. They have become loved by my parents and me. THAT IS WHAT IT IS REALLY ABOUT. THANK YOU STAFF!

A nice community...
People are generally nice and appear happy. Food was good as I remember. I think there needs to be a better variety of activities and more rigorous PE sessions. Not higher intensity just more priority

Overall, nice place.
The staff, for the most part, is great! There has been a lot of turnover, so the new staff is constantly trying to learn protocol and resident needs. Their attitudes are excellent though. It is a hard job, and they give their best.
They could make more fresh food instead of instant. Example eggs, mashed potatoes. Less canned vegetables, more fresh.

The staff is very nice and willing to help. They just need more of it and less turnover so that the residents KNOW their care givers. Housekeeping has been better, there has been a turnover and the housekeeping has suffered. Laundry not done and items lost, trash not emptied. Communication with the family is nice with the caregivers, but nonexistent with the higher ups, ie, the director, the medical coordinator the fitness instructor. The food is good. And delivered on a timely manner to your room, although if you eat in the dining room you will WAIT. Again, it is not staffed well enough. I would recommend the place, just be very mindful of what is going on.

Our experience
Very friendly ! I thought it was a bit much for two weeks and 2 months later I asked for my moms TB test and info OUR DR filled out on MY MOTHER , and our papers are no where to be found ! UNACCEPTABLE!
Overall I would recommend Avanti, just make sure you get copies of ALL of your paperwork!

The staff is amazing!
Only issue I've had which seems to be consistent with ALL of my friends who have family here ... LAUNDRY! Things get mixed up and often go missing. I've taken it upon myself to do my Grandmothers laundry several times a week to eliminate this issue ... and yet "sometimes" items still disappear?!

Safe, friendly environment
It is a safe environment and the staff is very friendly. They seem passionate about the residents there and they genuinely care - I appreciate that. In memory care I like there is an option for residents to go outside to the inner courtyard, that has been a big plus for him to be able to enjoy the outside.
I would recommend Avanti Senior Living at Augusta Pines to others.

Daylight in dark from our previous facility
Avanti is an EXCELLENT place. My son was the one who visited several places and chose Avanti for us. He chose it mainly because of the great location and the quality of care provided. I believe their involvement of every staff member with the care is a huge factor in our positive experience. No one ever says "that is not my job". The room sizes are very adequate for what we need. It is day and night difference from the previous facility that we were at. I would highly recommend Avanti at Augusta Pines to others.

Best Place I've Ever Been
It's not perfect, but it's definitely the best place we've experienced. The staff are wonderful and very loving. They seem to know everyone. The food is very good and the best we've experienced. They serve three meals a day plus two snacks. The facility is kept up very well. My only compliant is the laundry. For some reason, my mother loses pants. She came there with 7 pairs, and now she has 3. They tell me that's common and things generally come back, although I haven't seen them come back yet. In memory care, they do have activities, but I think they could have a few more. I've seen them hold trivia evenings, happy hours, and exercise classes, and there seems to be good camaraderie with the residents.

I really liked Avanti at Augusta Pines. [name removed] communicated very well, and all the staff we met were really great. Ultimately our decision came down to location. We found a place that was equally great but closer for visiting. But I myself wouldn't mind living at Avanti. They even have a bar, which is nice. What’s great about them is it’s all one level, so you don't have to go up /down elevators to get to any part of the facility. It opens up to a nice garden area. The atmosphere is so happy there, just very fresh and clean. It’s like you're at a resort.

The community has been closed off for the past year due to the restrictions so we have not had much interaction. We do know the activities are here and there, and we do like the location it is very convenient for our family.
