Any issues that I had were addressed immediately. The room was always clean and laundry done promptly. I found the evening meals bland, sometimes served late; leaving sandwiches dry and hot meals cold. I never shared breakfast or noon meals with mom, so can't comment on quality. Communication of family events should improve. I always found out too late to participate. Overall, I would recommend this facility to others.

Scarborough Terrace is a small family run group of facilities. It's very evident that the staff are tight knit. Many have worked there for several years. This translate into great, personalized care for residents and families. One of the things that really stood out for our family is he fact that after 2 years of residency, the facility reduces the monthly fees which really helps with longer term budgeting.

I am so thankful for A Place For Mom suggesting that I contact Scarborough Terrace. We love Scarborough Terrace. My mom is well taken care of and it is easy for me to communicate with staff about her needs. They involve families with a monthly Zoom forum and a monthly in-person gathering with some special entertainment or activity. The cost is significantly lower than other surrounding places because it is not a huge corporation. We are pleased with all of their services.

Make sure you add Scarborough Terrace to your list of places to visit. It was wonderful for our family. It's smaller than most places, so it's a good fit for people who don't want to compete for attention - nobody gets lost in the shuffle here. Our loved one didn't complain about hte food. And they offered lots of activities for the residents.

We toured Scarborough Terrace and the place was great. I was a newer and more modern facility. The staff were wonderful and it seemed like they offered a lot of amenities. The one downfall for my mother was the fact that the rooms did not have kitchenettes/sinks. This meant she would have to go eat every meal in the dining room and she likes to eat in her room and be able to heat things up, keep food in the freezer, etc. Other than that it was a great facility.

We had a great tour experience with Scarborough Terrace. All of the staff were lovely - but it was just not the right fit for my loved one. It came down to the level of care, what she felt most comfortable with, and the size of the rooms and she just felt another facility that we had looked into fit what she was looking for a bit better.

The community is able to assist my loved one with hygiene, bathing, and medication management. The staff are very good towards the family and really care for the residents. The community is very nice. The staff and aides are very courteous to each other. The food is pretty good for the residents. It looks appetizing. The monthly fee includes, laundry, additional care, medication, meals, housekeeping, and mind assistance program, that is all included in the fee. Windham Terrace works well with hospice.

We had to move our mom last year, during COVID restrictions to a Memory Care residence. We searched for several months in the Central Vermont area and could not find a place that we thought was suitable and had an opening. Luckily, Woodstock Terrace had both. We were immediately impressed by the small size of the floor, 14 residents, and the clear focus on the residents as individuals. We also quickly found out how well the staff and admin work together as a caring, coordinated team. All of our questions were promptly answered and their advice on making the move successful, for our mom, was gratefully accepted. Since [date removed], Woodstock Terrace staff have continually demonstrated knowledgeable, personalized care. Our stress level quickly dropped as we realized how well our mom was being cared for. She regularly tells us: " you girls found such a wonderful place for me!". Music to our ears.

Grounds well maintained. Community is quiet and well off US Route 1. COVID protocols in place, masks on visitors. [name removed] answered my questions and concerns. She is very personable. She is an RN and worked in this industry for 30 years. This community is an aging in place community. Independent living, assisted, & Memory care. Pricey, but I have noticed cost are within range of other Southern Maine facilities. My Big concern is running out on money for loved one. Clean. model apartments, private studio and Double Studio set up to view. Many activities for community members. At time of tour, community members setting up for arm chair fitness. 24/7 staff, medication management. Love the quietness of this community in Scarborough. I know my loved one would like it. Transportation is available.

It's my home, I cannot be in my own home anymore and this is now "my home." I no longer have to do laundry, cook 3 meals a day, floors windows and work. I love children and always had mine and the neighbors at my house and baking for them, always making a double batch of cookies. The children that come to Valley Terrace are so much fun. Gardening is one of my loves. I always had a beautiful garden at my house that people took pictures of. I now have a patio with flowers to water and watch them grow from tiny seeds, it is such a miracle.

While driving around Vt. and passing by Valley Terrace Assisted Living I noticed how welcoming the flowers on the balconies were. Time passed and my daughter introduced me to several assisted living facilities. With encouragement from my family I moved into Valley Terrace as it was a small community, there are walking areas and a flower garden. There are many activities both mentally and physically. The nursing staff keeps me from worrying about my health problems which is a BIG plus. Working through the virus challenges we will hopefully return to a normal life and "there will flowers on the balconies once again."

Thanks to your wonderful staff for taking such good care of my friends parents. This is truly a caring community that goes above and beyond for their residents. When the pandemic, hit Windham Terrace did everything they could to prevent their residents from getting it. They were able to engage the residents with socializing and activities and made the best of a bad situation, they even had entertainment outside in the summer! The staff could not be more caring and I am so happy that my friends parents are there and when my parents are ready to move, I know where they will go! Thank you.

I cannot say enough good things about Equinox Terrace. I brought my mother to Vermont from Massachusetts, and she was at another facility for 10 months. I was displeased (that is an understatement!) with the level of care she was receiving there, and it was obvious that my mother was declining because of lack of stimulation and lack of understanding, so I moved her to Equinox Terrace. Thank goodness I did! What an incredible difference--the skill level of the staff, the quality of every aspect of the place was superior. The executive director recognized my dedication to my mother, who was in hospice care, and permitted me to become a designated caregiver. I will forever be grateful for this time (six weeks before she died), for the ability to care for her, to be understood. This was of inestimable importance, and I am so very, very thankful! The dining experience was a pleasure, the residents were happy (such a change from the dull, doomed atmosphere at the other place, even though the physical building was pleasant enough); the staff was cheerful and helpful. The food was truly top notch, and my mother's vegetarian diet was accommodated. The executive director is brilliant at her job--everything hums along, she updates family members with emails (so important in this time of covid!), maintains an events schedule so residents have something to look forward to... she is capable and responsive, and ensures that the staff is likewise. She has meetings where residents can air their wishes and preferences. It is a place where people are living, not just waiting to shuffle off. I am profoundly thankful for Equinox Terrace, and I will always treasure my mother's and my last weeks together, made possible because of [name removed] and what she's done at ET. Highest, highest praise for her leadership and competence, even during these challenging times.

The community is fabulous for my loved one. The first time I walked in I felt that I was walking into a resort, instead of an assisted living. It is a comfortable, beautiful, safe space. The community is laid out beautifully. They have double doors with an octagon shape, and it feels like a mansion, instead of going to a community. It feels residential, with beautiful furniture and places to sit. The decor is nice. The staff keeps the community and grounds very nicely. I can tell they really love taking care of the community. The activities include a weekly calendar and the community has a full time activities director. They have yoga, crafts, movie days, ongoing series of theater, physical activities with prizes, and entertainment that will come in. They even have a grand piano, that the residents can sing along . The community has a bus to take the residents around town as scenic views or out to lunch. They have different church services. You can never be bored there, ever. They have had summer picnics for the families to come and visit. The dining hall and chef is great. They had a holiday party with a way to take your pictures as a family with a professional photographer. They had different stations with food made in house. The food was fabulous! The entire staff showed up in holiday attire. They took the time to speak to the residents and family. You could tell that they knew who the family members were. As far as COVID-if you want to know how to keep the residents safe. They have weekly emails to the families. There are zero outbacks, no one has been questionable, no one has been tested positive. They only allow doctor's who are caring exclusively to Scarborough Terrace. If there is a doctor who serves other communities, they will allow virtual visits or speak to the nurses. Before the guideline was in place to close communities, they decided to close the community down and only allow virtual visits. Totally proactive, not reactive. I believe this so much that I wrote a letter to [name removed] about how wonderful Scarborough Terrace is and how they were taking care of keeping COVID at bay. I feel my loved one is extremely safe in this community.
