This is a good community for you or your loved one. The key is staying on top and being very actively involved in the day to day of what is happening with your loved one. The main people are great and we have had some issues but I have not been there very often to get an overall feel for everything.

Very polite and caring staff. Enough activities to keep from being bored. Activities are for different levels of capability. Meals are edible, but no great. Overall I like it here!

I have been very satisfied here during a difficult time - the loss of my husband, surgeries, and a shortage of staff. Staff is pleasant, but because of Covid it is a difficult time to give a fair review.

One of the things i liked when i went on tour was the friendliness of the staff. The community was kept cleaned. Some of the residents were gathered around a table playing cards. They seemed to have been enjoying the social interaction going on. Everything was well explained about the community.

The HarborChase of Venice community is very nice. The workers are friendly. I think they are a bit short of staff, which i knew for a while. They have a very caring personnel so that's a good thing. I had a pretty good experience with this community. I would recommend the HarborChase of Venice. The facility is very clean and everyone is friendly. The staff and residents are very nice.

Most of the staff are helpful and friendly. Others need an attitude adjustment. Perhaps my expectations aren't realistic but I'd hoped they would have encouraged her to participate in activities, get her showered - try to maintain some sort of normal life. They don't. After 3 months we're still trying to get her oxygen care in order. Thank heavens I'm there almost every day but suppose I wasn't able to be there??? Fortunately Mom doesn't require a great deal of care but I'm just as concerned with the human element.

Most of the staff is friendly and helpful. Others are in need of softening. Harbor Chase offers many activities. My mother isn't happy being in the facility - any facility. Perhaps it's my misunderstanding but I'd hoped that they would encourage her more to participate. I'm looking for her safety and happiness.

This is a nice clean community. My loved one lived here a short time and they did their best to care for him. There were some minor issues with the hospice nurses. This community offers some nice amenities.

Harborchase is wonderful for people who have some degree of independence. I found the people there to be pretty cooperative. I'm there visiting often, and every time I go there is something that needs attention. However I think my friend is just really not in the right place for the level of care needed. I think for someone who needed true assisted living, it would be okay.

It's working great for my mother. They have responded well to any of the minor issues that we have brought up. My mother loves the food, and if she doesn't like something they will bring her something else.

My family and I were impressed with what we were told by the various representatives we met before putting my father into Harbor Chase. We especially liked seeing residents out of their rooms during the day, and this did seem to be the routine, and I appreciated that my father was not simply left alone in his room most of the time. Unfortunately, a number of things we'd been told turned out to not be the case. I had to call and write frequently about various concerns that would not have been concerns if what we'd been told initially had been true. And we found it quite difficult to get responses from people to address our concerns and problems. I left several messages that never earned a response. When I did talk to HC representatives, they were always very friendly, however. We had been told not to worry about laundry getting mixed up, but from the beginning my father was found dressed in other people's clothing, while his own went missing. Permanently lost were two handmade quilts. If we'd been told mixups were routine and that we should label his washables, we would certainly have done so. My father was very frail, and we'd been told he would be bathed in an area where he could step directly into the shower area without having to navigate the high bathtub in his room. We learned later he was routinely bathed in his room. We were told that the call/help pull cord in the room would bring a response within minutes. Many times this thing was pulled and nobody responded for half an hour or more. We were told that if we supplied our own disposable undergarments, gloves and wipes they would be used and we would not be charged for similar items supplied by HC. Despite the bathroom closet containing many packages of undergarments and wipes, more were added and my mother was billed for them. I believe/hope this was fixed after I complained. I don't understand why it happened in the first place, however. My father's hearing aids were lost for nine days, and despite being told that employees had searched his room carefully, the hearing aids were finally found in his bedding. Nobody had looked in the bedding? And sheets had not been changed for at least nine days? I'm sure there is no such thing as a good nursing home. We thought this one would be the best choice in Venice, and maybe it still is, but I'd wish that more of what we had been told before signing up would have been true.

The Rehab section has a serious MOLD problem. There are carpets everywhere and they are full of dirt, mold and human bodily fluids. They even let a cat run free into all the rooms, so if you are allergic too bad. When the aid pulled out my mothers bed pan part of it spilled on the floor into the carpet. Oh well,... no really way to clean that up. It will just add to the smell. Medicare and others gave it a FIVE star. But they don't rate sanitation. So just imagine your loved one living there for weeks or months breathing in that terrible air.

We moved my dad here from Englewood hospital as recommended by his hospital doctor for continuity of care. He happened to be the doctor there too. It was so hard to get anything done! We tried to get bandages for leg wounds, and some removed that he came in with for over a week with daily reassurance that it would be done each day we’d go home. No bath or shower for more than a week either, so we paid his in home caregiver to help. When she was there the male assistant assigned to his room, slacked even more while she helped with other clients in need. They lost dad one day and later found him in the woods. No one had any idea how long he was gone! He was stuck in the bushes. Upon my arrival he was asleep on top of his bed with bruises and burrs all over his clothing. If this is the number 1, in Venice where do we place family members. There were a few shining stars that were most compassionate and dedicated. They seemed to work long hours and addressed the clients by name. The activities center, and the therapy department were also quite good. We had to ask for a planning conference when we heard he might be released. Thanks to those that were most caring and compassionate.

I think the rating system is unfair. See my video "Medicare.gov - Is Your Nursing Home Clean?", and I will show you what I mean. I show examples of this place and why it should not be rated Five Stars. The people are great and food is good. Just not clean.

There was no coverage at night in the assisted living for that reason I would never leave my loved one there again. It was not safe. During the day it was fine evening hours there were no coverage I don't care if they tell you differently.
