They cared. While my husband was in hospice, only 8 days, family was coming in from different states and they welcomed them and all his friends. Each day they cleaned and had a dinks snack cart. I was proud...

We chose Pacific Pointe because of the value for the money and they do have a lot to offer for the residents. They do full size meals for lunch and then something smaller for dinner, I think they should...

I moved to Pacific Point in 2015 at a time that I was on a walker & in chronic pain. The Pacific Point Representative who toured me around the facility showed me the first 2 floors but not the 3rd floor where the gym equipment, arts & crafts room & beauty salon were. It was several months later that I learned about the third floor's various activities. My studio was next to the 2nd floor fire escape & I frequently observed non-resident unsavory types going up & down those stairs especially at night, which made me feel very vulnerable. The only meal here I could stomach was breakfast. I had a small refrigerator in my studio that I ate out of the rest of the time. Activities were lame. The monthly rent was high for what was offered. Most everyone living there who spoke to me wanted to move out as I eventually did.

First of all, the food is the worst I have ever had in my life. A woman last night just was released from the hospital and her comment was the food was better in the hospital than here at Pacific Pointe. Cleanliness. I decided when I moved in to clean my own apartment because the equipment is not only old but not well equipped. The vacuums are filled with everything you can imagine from peoples rooms to the hallways. And I don't want that to enter my apartment, so I bought a Irobot and a hand vacuum to clean my apartment. They use a spray bottle and a swifter to clean the bathroom, so I bought a bucket, mop and Lysol to clean the bathroom. They never cleansed the bath/tub that I know of when they cleaned my apartment because I discovered there was mold under my shampoo bottle. I had to call the County Health Department on the appearance of the dining room floor. There was so much food and dirt that when they had a Lula the dancer's feet were black from all of the food, dirt and crud. I never saw then mop the dining room floor until I called the health department. I don 't know the condition of the kitchen, we are not allowed in there but I am told the mop heads are black from dirt and never changed. I am waiting for a report or call back from the health department. Friendliness: Most of the people are friendly, I have made about twelve friends here. Most all of the people are wither in wheel chairs or walkers, not too many of us are mobile. Value: They have raised my rent already since I have been here, Parking went up from $25 to $50 a month. I got a letter in the mail two days ago stating if I did not renew my lease for six or twelve months the rent would go up $225. per month. My lease is up October 31 so, I need to start looking again. Care Services: I really don't use this service, but everyone else seems pleased with the number of staff either that they hired or that were here, I really don't know. Activities: Plenty of things to do and lots going on each week and each day, no complaint there.

Don't send your loved ones there! I have a friend that lives there. Place is overpriced and does not provide what is listed. Went for a visit and read the activity calendar, but there was no activities being done. Residents seemed bored and not entertained. Staffing is low, saw 1 caregiver running around very busy. Dining room food is not the best, my friend said they don't serve what is listed because they run out of supplies. Saw a sign in one of the bathrooms saying it was out of order. Toured the Dementia unit and it is worse! You can smell urine just walking in. I see residents walking around with no shoes and some that look like they haven't bathed, changed their clothes, or even shaved. They just had their residents sitting in the living area with no activities being done. It's a pity they residents are paying so much for bad quality care.

This is a terrible facility! Do not send a loved one to this place. Low paid and Untrained staff. Shady accounting practices. Parent died here because of neglect. They never provided the services they promised. There is a reason there are so many lawsuits against Brookdale. They are a greedy corporate entity. They pay their workers terrible and have very high turnover!

The place is ugly, nasty, and smells like urine. Its horrid. They claim to be an assisted living, they are not except to an outside source. Nothing is provided. I am currently looking privately to place my mother into another community.
