The staff is amazing especially the nurse [name removed]. She was so helpful and very welcoming. [name removed] answered all my questions and concerns. She assured me that my Aunt would get the best loving care. At first I had trouble finding a place for my loved one, but once I came across this establishment it felt like home. It was clean and pretty inside. The residents seemed happy and there were fun activities going on at the time. I was greated with smiling faces all around. I was confident my family member would be loved and taken care of, which was very important to me. This is a safe and loving environment. So look no futher, Darlington is the right place for you and family. Side note: my Aunt couldn't be happier!

My wife' brother and my brother-in-law was a four your president of Darlington. During his stay we were very pleased with the care and attention given him. The staff was attentive and always there to take care of his needs and comfort. We could always call to see how [name removed] was doing and were welcome visitors. It was not always easy for the staff in his care and they were respectful and respectful of him.. We are grateful for the care and attention given Michael and thank the administration and staff.

They were very helpful in helping with the transition of our family member. All of the staff was nice and asked more about their newest resident so they could help with the transition with them. I love that there are not set visiting hours and we are welcome at any time any day showing us that there is nothing to hide when it comes to the care of each residents and environment. I love how it feels like home, not a hospital.

I'm very happy with it, her health has improved since she's been there.

I'm very happy with it, her health has improved since she's been there. I'm really pleased. Some of the residents can get a little antsy, and that can be a bit overwhelming. The foods not fancy, but it's appropriate for her appetite. It didn't smell when I first walked in and that is one of the things that pushed me over the edge, the overall ambiance, the staff is incredible. The administration bends over backwards to make us happy. I don't think they have a big Jewish population, but they have a lot of Catholic events. It would be nice to have a rabbi come in and talk or have something for the Jewish residents

My review of Darlington Memory Lane

This community is very clean and the caregivers at this community are excellent. The cost every month is extremely good and fits for us well. the only thing is that I have had some issues with getting a prompt response from administration. The tour experience was quick and unorganized, also signing my loved one up was very unorganized and did not feel one on one. They had three people coming in at the same time and I was feeling out paperwork on my lap. Just not very happy with the administrative staff and not able to contact them. They also do not send me statements in regards to the monthly billing and it has been requested to make things easier but my loved one likes it here and whenever I go she is happy and good.

I would say check this out to see if it fits your needs!!

My brother is doing well since moving into Darlington. The staff seem to know him and talk to him like he was family. This is an older victorian home merged with a home next store. Before he moved in they repainted his room and gave him some new furniture. He does stay active and enjoys go out on the bus to some of the stores in the area.

They are by far one of the best communities of the seven or eight we looked at.

They are by far one of the best communities of the seven or eight we looked at. I think it's a great facility. I think they're a pretty good value. There aren't any problems with the food. There really isn't anything that I can think of that needs to be improved or done better.

Visited two facilities in Darlington. Both were very nice and clean, but a little small for our needs. The director was also very helpful in trying to assist us in our needs. The tour was very professionaly done and very informative.

Darlington Memory Lane had higher functioning residents with dementia than other places that we looked at. But I didn't like the facility. I didn't like that they had a completely separate unit they literally called the medical unit, knowing that the segregation was due to a financial piece. It was a tight little wing, compared to the larger more spaced out areas for the rest of the residents. Their activities seemed very engaging though, which is something my loved one would have liked.

The staff was very helpful. The rooms do not have their private bathrooms. I think this would be very inconvenient during the night and early morning hours.

there are two buildings. pick the right one.

Look CLOSELY at this facility. There are 2 very distinct facilities at Darlington Memory Lane, and they only advertise the better one. If you start out private pay and run out of money, then you move to the Medicaid building. The private pay (1081 R Mineral Spring Ave) location is gorgeous. They have researched best practice for dementia patients and decorated the building to reflect this. I can't speak to the care at that building, but the residents are always clean, well dressed, hair done, and looking their best. My parent is at the 1073 Mineral Spring location (the Medicaid funded building). There is no full time activities coordinator because this person spends her time at the private pay building. The residents appear unkempt most days with wild bed head and unshaven men. The residents are kept in one common room just watching tv all day. The occasional activities consist only of BINGO games, and maybe a trivia session. 90% of the photos of parties, etc on their Facebook page are of the private pay residence. It breaks my heart that there is such a distinct difference between the wealthy and the poor. :( The staff in the Medicaid building are all very nice, but its obvious that while they may have CNA certifications, they are not well educated in working with dementia and Alzheimer's patients. They definitely do not go above and beyond for their residents.

Visitor

I'd like to know why there's never any nurses in the building in case they're emergency, nurses come and then they leave when they want. Med techs come in give their pills and they leave the building. CNAs are never around. I was searching around for a place for someone I know and was a visitor, . And so many people told me so many stories about this place for years. It's the fact knowing there's nobody that's there that's licensed professional. Is very scary. That's a bid something tragic happens

missed significant signs of decline

My mother was admitted in [date removed], and she was a physically healthy individual (with dementia). She was an active walker and would likely be classified as restless and a pacer. By April of the same year, she stopped eating and drinking and lost significant weight. We were unable to visit because of COVID. The staff took no action until she became non-responsive. She was then sent to hospital and 10 days later died. Quality of care sucked with pandemic. Shame on them.
