I would say the place it well decorated and the grogs are very nice. Great location management is well intentioned but disorganized. Many things go unnoticed that shouldn't the staff is kind and hard-working but they don't have enough help. The food is a constant disappointment. Activities are few and uninspired. So much potential but many improvements are needed.

The caregivers do the best job they can understanding they are responsible for doing everything cleaning, making meals, taking care of individual needs of those living there, answering the phone for facility, checking in vendors and anything else that may arise. Sometimes it gets alittle chaotic. It would be nice if there were more staff. There has been alot of turn over in staff also. The ones I've met since the beginning are great. Hopefully it will get better for them.

My father was a resident here for about 15 months. [name removed] was awesome and was very helpful. [name removed] at the front desk was wonderful to help take him to appointments I was not able to make. Most of the staff was nice and treated my dad very good. The residents were wonderful and all seemed to like my dad and were very much like a family with each other. There was one very rude staff member who at the end of my dad's stay due to his Parkinson's worsening, he was having many many falls. [name removed] was extremely rude and spoke to me regarding my dad in a very unprofessional manner. When we moved my dad out due to his illness and falls I was told that he would be reimbursed for the partial month he was there, as his care prices had went up quite a bit and also having to pay for help to come in and be with him for all his awake time at Grand Villa. We moved my dad and he were not reimbursed for any of 10 days he was not at Grand Villa. I was assured that he would not be charged as my dad was a self pay resident. I was told that I did not get all his things out of his place and we most certainly did. I verified this with [name removed] on the day we moved my dad...then I was told by [name removed] that we had left a chair and as long as it was there we had to pay as if my dad was still living there. The chair was actually brought in to my dad living room by the maintenance man at Grand Villa and not at my request. I actually had asked that the chair be taken out because it was so big. We did not bring that chair in and we left it as it was not my dad's property. I have left the frame of my dad's bed and told [name removed] that was a donation and she was ok with that as it could be used again for another resident. This left a very bad mark for Grand Villa for me, my dad is on a fixed income and was a self pay for the entire 15 months there. I feel like they were so over having to call and ambulance for my dad's falls and consistent issues with his memory loss that they did all they could to compensate themselves with those last 10 days of my dad's money. I do not recommend this facility to anyone who has a health condition that will worsen over time.....if your elderly family member can do most of everything on their own then yes I would say this place would suffice, but I would look around for the quality of staff first....my dad is now in a facility die to his illness that takes much better care of him and is now on state assistance as all his savings was spent on Grand Villa assisted living.

[name removed] was WONDERFUL! She was helpful, empathetic, open, honest.....! Wonderful person for the job. Then there were the three sisters that worked there. They were awesome. I saw one more so than the others and she knew what she was doing, took charge and was confident. Good workers. While my relative was bedridden, I was disappointed in some of the aids. They seemed inexperienced. One didn't know how to give water to my relative. I had to help hold his head up and help her. The aid was lost on that task. I was told that my dying relative would be checked on every 15 minutes during the night. I would have liked to have stayed in the chair in his room because he was near death but I got the feeing they didn't want me there. While my relative was bedridden and mostly sleeping or in a coma and not responding to commands, the staff was still give morphine in liquid form. How is someone in this condition going to swallow this without choking? Shouldn't this be given in shot form at this point or in an IV? Then there was the front door. On the weekend when I was trying to get in and I knew my relative was close to death, it took forever for someone to let me in. (The people that live there said the same thing.....no help when they call). When a lady finally came, I told her my relative was dying but she had me wait and ran off. She came back and had me wait again by the Gardens door and ran off. That took a few minutes which seemed forever. By the time I got in, I was only in the room 30 seconds before my relative died. When they turned on the light, my relative had foam the same color as morphine running down the side of his mouth. The aid said she had just checked him half an hour ago. What happened to 15 minutes? I'm wondering why Corridor isn't more equipped or capable of dealing with hospice care. We were in touch with the hospice nurse but she left the care to your facility. Also, my relative was on his THIRD day in bed when we came to visit yet no one called us to tell us that he was that bad. My feeling is that the aids are not qualified enough to handle this situation. While we were there three days in a row, I never saw them turn him on his side or in a different position so he was always on his back. I'm sure he was on his back for four days straight without a change in position. What is up with that? Disappointment with end of life care.

I chose this place because it is in close proximity to family. It is in a small town and having the location where everyone is close by was a big thing. The staff there was great, very friendly, and knowledgeable. However, they could add more people to their team. It seems like there are short on staff which results into slow service. I feel like the service is very slow and it is not as quick as it could be. But the staff that are there are wonderful and the tenants as well. They have great social activities: they have live music 1-2 times a month, they have holiday events, and they do a couple of crafts on site. The overall cleanliness was good, they kept every clean and they do laundry upon request. The food is the main highlight of the entire place. The menu changes daily and the chef post a menu 2 weeks out for the updated choices. They have a great variety. All in all I would recommend this place.

I toured Grand Villa while looking for living options for my dad. I thought that Grand villa was a nice community. It’s very spread out, one-floor living, but I just felt that it wasn’t quite for dad. We ultimately chose another community to suite our needs.

This community seems to be going through some staffing changes and we have noticed that some of the residents rooms are not being cleaned very well. I feel they have not followed through on some of the promises that were made in the beginning. They offer a fair amount of activities and they go out on Mondays and Fridays. This community does work with residents regarding the cost of living there. We are hoping that things will improve as they are doing some remodeling and hiring some new staff members.

They care more obout the remodel then the actual care of residents. My relative and other residents have been robbed and the person still works there. The food is too spicey for the age of residents. But what really surprised me was how inexperienced the director is and definantly over her head. Since she came to this facility the care of residents has gone down tremendously. I'm now seeking a new place for my relative. So my recommendation is fi d somewhere else.

When it comes to the overall experience, the cleanliness and care services there is just not enough staff. I moved my mother out in [date removed] to a much better place. It cost more but she was well cared for and they had enough staff and activities. The director was great and really cared about the residents that were there. My mother did have heart problems and did pass away in [date removed]. But they were very compassionate and had a nurse on staff and had hospice available also.

They are definitely understaffed and the staff they do have do not seem well trained at all. Their logistical system they use could be more more well rounded. When the hospice people were requesting different medications it would take forever and they would have to do it over and over again. There is definitely some room for improvement.

I wasn't too impressed with this place. It's very depressing and I wasn't too impressed with the cleanliness, it wasn't clean at all and they only had a common shower for everybody, they didn't have any showers in their room and I didn't like that. Mostly it was liek a nursing home or a place people would go when they got out of the hospital.
