This is, mainly because it was a house, it was very dark and, to me, depressing. I think when I was told about it was fairly reasonable in price but when he quoted me the price it was like $5000/mo. With the residential homes I couldn't put him there and say it was worth the money. To me, I fell like we were the same kind of set up because he was living with us. I couldn't justify spending the money to put him in another house where there are not many people to talk to and it was not bright or sunny inside.

I think the care was okay. But my loved one with dementia tested positive for Coronavirus. And we weren't allowed to go inside to visit her. I did not get to see my loved one the last four months that she was alive. She had been at this same community for about 3.5-4 years. I'm having to live with the fact that my loved one left this earth without me being there. On top of not being able to see her for the last four months. The manager had been required on and off to lock down the facility. Then he'd allow one visitor at a time per family. And they'd have to lock down again with positive virus cases. I asked the director if we could visit looking through the window, and he said no because she hollered any time they tried to move her. And they never even tried to figure out a way to make it work. Most of the time he didn't even call back or email back. Very rarely would I hear back from him. He only wanted to speak to my brother who was power of attorney, even though I had told the director multiple times my brother is incapacitated and doesn't communicate to the rest of the family. He would get off the phone as quickly as possible, would tell me he would look into something and call me back. But he rarely called me back. He avoided me because he didn't want to do any of the things I was asking. The only way I was seeing my loved one at all was because the lead caregiver would put us on Whatsapp on her personal phone so we could talk to our loved one. The other ladies wouldn't do this for us. They were not nearly the caliber this one was. She knew we came to visit, brought our loved one things, had gotten to know us well. This lead caregiver had been gone on vacation right before my loved one passed away, or she would have let us know. One time when we were able to go inside to visit, the staff was standing there the whole time basically shooing me out, pestering every few minutes, saying your ten minutes are up. Ten minutes go by so fast. They were demanding, they were nervous, they didn't want anybody in there at all. I told this to the director, who didn't care. We went almost four years of not receiving any updates about our loved one's condition, because the director would only send those to my brother who never passed on the information. The only time we ever got to see her or talk to her after coronavirus hit was when that one caregiver went out of her way to contact us. We had a hard time even finding out what shape she was in once she contracted the virus. That's a terrible position to be in. The only reason the director called me the night our loved one passed away was because he couldn't reach my brother on the phone. So he finally called us. You can imagine how this made us feel, after we were the ones who had taken the time all these years to visit and look after her, and bring her things - snacks, lotion, clothes. And we didn't get to spend any time with her at the end. Even if we saw her through Whatsapp, it was no more than about 12-15 minutes where that one caregiver was good enough to walk down to the room in between her other duties and try to encourage our loved one to talk with us.

I recently visited a friend who is housed here. Concerns are cleanliness, no activities ...all sitting in front of TVs. No attempt to have conversation with them or keep them alert. Staff does ok with meal prep. May be better to reduce # of residents for better care and support. Positives...no foul smells (just messy and disorganized) Nice neighborhood and home type facility.

My loved one was there a short period of time. The room was dusty, not clean, and the TV did not work. I would never put anyone at this place, and most of the staff did not speak English. What they said they would do, they did not do it.

The community was filthy and I would never place a loved one here. There was mold in the bathrooms during our tour.

NO. Sounds more like a nursing home. Small facility. No kitchen.

I am not happy with the care at this community. The staff did not take care of my father as I was informed. The community was clean, but the staff did not take care of my father on several occasions. He was not ever taken out of his bed to particpate with the other in activites that may have been offered. I would not recommend this community to other families. I would suggest that they tour the community before making a decesion for a loved one.
