Review for Valley Pines Retirement Home
We have told others that Valley Pines was a great place for my Mom when she needed more care than we could provide. The people at Valley Pines were helpful and compassionate towards my Mom especially towards the end. They were passionate about what they were doing

I would give them a 5 for everything. This is a very high quality home with wonderful people that care about you. They not only care about the patient that the patient's family. They go out of their way to make it feel like home for everybody living there. I can't say enough wonderful things about this facility which is no longer called Valley Pines it is now called Reidt Care

Review for Valley Pines Retirement Home
I would tell anyone who is looking for a small home for their loved one to be well cared for to look at Valley Pines. The home is clean, staff is fantastic and they are really helpful in explaining what my Mom is going through now. We had no idea where she was in her disease but Laurie from Valley Pines did and she explained it to us. As such, we don't have to worry about my Mom as much now. We picked Valley Pines because of the setting, people and cost. It is clean and well maintained. They have helped us get my Mom into some hospice care which makes it even better for her. They are the best.

Review for Valley Pines Retirement Home
I would say: the staff is incredible. The house is cozy and comfortable. Just like being at home. I have no worries and can get on with my life knowing my sister is well taken care when I'm not there. We picked this community because it was so like home. My sister would be overwhelmed in a larger facility.

Peace of mind
It is a "home" they made it very much like your at home - they really treat you like you are apart of a family. Our loved one is on a feeding tube so it's hard to judge the meals, but from what we have observed it all seems fine. Based on our experience so far we would recommend Valley Pines Retirement Home to other families.

Very home like
The staff members are awesome, and the meals and dining service would be a five plus plus. We liked how it was a smaller community in a home, so it was very close to a persons home as it could be, it did not feel like a facility. When you walked in you were greeted by the residents dog, and everyone greeted you with hugs. It is a very family orientated community, and it always smelled cleaned. It constantly had a smell of fresh baking cookies or bread in the kitchen.

If You Can't Keep Your Family Member at Home, This is the Next Best Thing
I would highly recommend Valley Pines. They are very personable, and you feel like family on the very first day you are there. The caregivers are dedicated to specific shifts. They also cook individually for the resident's taste, instead of mass cooking. They have lots of activities available for the residents.

Wonderful place for your loved one
My mother was only at Valley Pines for a month, however, compared to her previous community, she had a much better experience. There was never any smell of incontinence at Valley Pines and because it was a home, walking in the front door often meant smelling baking cookies. The home itself was always very well kept up. There were never dirty dishes in the sink and the bathrooms were always spotless. The staff is very friendly and create a family-like atmosphere. As soon as you walk in the door, you feel apart of the family. The staff was always there to make my mother's stay more comfortable, often asking her favorite foods, whether she liked her nails done, things like that. They really showed that they cared for her and wanted to make her feel at home. The community was cheaper and provided better care (times 10) compared to her previous community. They even made sure the residents that were mobile were able to get up, go outside, and walk around the property. For those residents who were not as mobile, they always made sure to have stationary activities for them like knitting.

This is a nice fit for my Mom
Valley Pines Retirement Home is a nice fit for my Mom. It has a nice family atmosphere with only 6 residents both men and women and she gets to do pretty much what she would like to do. They all eat together at the family dining table and they make sure her meals are healthy. They have a caring staff and I would recommend Valley Pines to my family and friends.

My Visit To The Home
It is a house with other resident living there. I thought my mom would like it but when we toured the home I thought it was not going to be a good fit. I saw they were in the middle of remodeling and overall I didn't like the house. It has about 4 rooms and I was liking the idea of an apartment instead. The representative gave me material about the home and she gave a good tour. She even followed up with me 4 times after the tour.

Comfort For Mom!!
The Valley Pines Retirement Home has exceeded my expectations. My mother is very happy here, she loved the family-like atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and really connects with my mother, on my visits we all go out on the deck and talk for hours. The community offers a variety of activities. My mother's favorite thing to do is go out and take walks around the community. She is also really hoping more woman move into the community as there is more men than women there at the moment.

A Place for Mom has scored Valley Pines Retirement Home 10 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.

Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
