The rooms are large. I love my balcony. I don't feel like I'm in a retirement home, but like I'm in a vacation home. The food is great. The staff are sweet and kind. I love the trees, wildlife and the courtyard with the vegetables and the patio outside of the dining room. We have a great nursing staff, caregivers, good food and service, therapy, prompt maintenance, great housekeepers and laundry staff. We have music, exercise and other activities and church services on Sunday. I love the family atmosphere. And our little squirrel (LIttle Buddy) loves sunflower seeds.

We are thankful for The Lodge at Natchez Trace
The staff at The Lodge is not only professional, but they are also friendly, loving, respectful, and kind to each resident - even when the resident may get difficult and are having a bad day. My mother feels safe and has never had anything stolen. It does not matter what the staff's job is, anyone will help take care of a need when it arises. They truly do work as a team!!! We are thankful for The Lodge. The way they all work together to provide care for our loved ones, who do not want to be forgotten, is such a blessing.

Exceptional Care
I cannot express enough gratitude for the exceptional care my grandmother has received at The Lodge at Natchez Trace. From the moment she arrived, the staff welcomed her with warmth, professionalism, and genuine compassion. It gave our family immediate peace of mind. Every member of the team has gone above and beyond to make sure she feels comfortable, safe and valued. The level of personal attention she receives is remarkable. Her physical health improved, but her emotional well-being has blossomed too. we are truly thankful for The Lodge and all they have done for our family. Knowing she is not just being cared for, but truly cared about means everything to us.

Assisted in a high stress moment of crisis
Your daughters spent time looking for an AL community for us. We were extremely pressed for time. The Lodge at Natchez Trace made it happen for us. What a blessing they were for us! Once here we were met with wonderful staff and friendly, accepting residents. My caregivers have been respectful, caring and helpful. They are knowledgeable, always knowing when one of the nursing staff needed to be apprised of a situation. The nursing staff are equally knowledgeable. The services we receive are carried out flawlessly. My favorite subject is food! The meals are very well planned. If you are looking for an Assisted Living Facility, I hope that you visit The Lodge of Natchez Trace

Caring Staff
My mom was a resident at The Lodge at Natchez Trace for over four years. in three different care levels. Every portion of her stay there was a positive experience. The staff were always incredibly caring and attentive to her needs and desires. They really took the time to get to know her and what gave her joy - from the nursing staff to the kitchen staff and everyone in between. The creativity and professionalism with which the entire staff approach their work is really exceptional. My mom's quality of life for the last years of her life was much richer because of the care she received at The Lodge.

Would definitely recommend
Caregivers and nurses are very good at their jobs! Residents are like family! The rooms are four different sizes so you can choose what meets your needs and pocketbook. As far as the meals, I'm a diabetic and lactose intolerant, so I don't have the choices that other residents have.

So much better since 2023. New director.
I was one of those who left a poor review back in 23. Mom is still there and so much happier and so ate we! Really worth checking out! Make sure to have a meal there to see if your family member is ok with it. The evening meals are really small but thats probably a little healthier for them.

My parent has been at the Lodge for a few years. Overall, we have had a good experience. There was a short time when things were not as good as they had been. Lodge has a new director and he is making a positive impact. I am very pleased with his plans for moving forward. My parent is safe, happy and well cared for. The entire staff is helpful, friendly, and very caring. The food is tasty and a good variety. The kitchen staff will try to accommodate special requests. I would recommend the Lodeg to my friends and family.

Awful idea to consider the Lodge for your family
I would leave zero stars if I could. The staff is constantly changing and appears uncaring and clueless. The Lodge would be my last resort to place a loved one. There is bickering and drama on a daily basis and the residents are not at the forefront of the Lodge. My Aunt had a terrible experience here. It is outdated and overpriced.

Only for very healthy elderly that will never get sick
Mom needed to go to rehab. Insurance turned it down. She was being released from hospital. Called lodge all morning approx 10 x no answer til a worker in hallway picked up. We were unable to work things out and poor weak mama sat in the lobby as they refused to take her back as they didn’t have enough nursing care to do so. Sister pushed and pushed and finally agreed if she had home health care come in each day she could return to her room. They were not prepared at all to for this situation. It took two hours being there in person to find a way for mom to have her room back. Why didn’t they answer their phones so this could be worked out before she was discharged. Why did they not immediately at least have some other option for us to consider? Why were they not more caring? This was the last straw. We may need to get a lawyer involved.

[name removed] really likes all of the caregivers there. Recently, there was a change in administration. [name removed] says many employees are leaving. I don't know if that is accurate. I have had lots of difficulty getting my calls returned. [name removed] said that she does not like the food, but she can also be very picky. She does not participate in any activities.

A great place for loved ones
We really like the smaller scale of The Lodge since our loved one does have dementia - the community is not overwhelming at all. Overall we have been very impressed with the whole operation. For us, the value is worth it because she is happy and the people have been great and the location works out best for our family. The meals and dining service is excellent, she is really enjoying the food and meeting new friends. We are very happy with our choice, the entire experience has been outstanding and we would recommend it to other families.

Tips for evaluating your community options

Safety is a primary concern when seniors and their families look for Assisted Living. To ensure that a community meets your needs and expectations, we recommend that seniors and family members:

  • Know Tennessee’s regulations for memory care. Each state has its own laws and inspection processes to ensure seniors reside in a safe environment. Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the communities you’re considering. Learn more about Tennessee’s regulations for memory care and download the Guide to Senior Living Licensure and Inspection Reports.

  • Tour the location. Touring allows you to speak to current residents and staff, and it helps you confirm the accuracy of the community description and photos. Use our touring checklist to help guide your visit.

  • Confirm the availability of required services. Before committing, make sure that the community offers all the services your loved one needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.
