Garrison experience
Garrison put up a front that they care, only thing they care about is the money. My aunt was discharged from Garrison after almost 2 months of rehabilitation, facility was on lockdown due to Covid 19. Physical therapist and case worker was incompetent, they fail to order equipment my aunt needed at discharge. Doctors office had to push them to make sure my aunt had a wheelchair and shower chair upon discharge. Still waiting on hospital bed. If you look deeper you will uncover the fact that Garrison is poorly run and a dump. My aunt had horror stories about poor service. Just look deeper before you LeaVe you love one in their care, especially since faculty is on lockdown not allowing visitors.

Garrison is the worst...
Absolutely the worst facility in Lubbock. Filthy building and grounds. Unprofessional and uneducated staff could care less about your family member. Head nurse [name removed] is an abjectly evil woman.

Staff seems willing
My dad has been at Garrison for over a year. We have had a lot of issues. But the staff worked with us to get a lot of the issues solved. Still not what I want for my dad. I am concern about the price listed on several of these sites and think they are misleading. We are on private pay and paying 2x's of what is listed. Someone needs to check on this and list the correct cost.

Tips for evaluating your community options

Safety is a primary concern when seniors and their families look for Nursing Home. To ensure that a community meets your needs and expectations, we recommend that seniors and family members:

  • Know Texas’s regulations for memory care. Each state has its own laws and inspection processes to ensure seniors reside in a safe environment. Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the communities you’re considering. Learn more about Texas’s regulations for memory care and download the Guide to Senior Living Licensure and Inspection Reports.

  • Tour the location. Touring allows you to speak to current residents and staff, and it helps you confirm the accuracy of the community description and photos. Use our touring checklist to help guide your visit.

  • Confirm the availability of required services. Before committing, make sure that the community offers all the services your loved one needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.
