I like knowing that even though she's in independent living, staff are watching out for her and there are systems in place to keep her safe. Mom's apartment is the right size for her. Her one-bedroom unit with a generous closet and laundry space makes her feel like she can have enough of the items from her larger house with her. It's taken awhile, but Mom is starting to enjoy the activities. There is something to do every morning and afternoon with enough variety that she can find something that appeals to her even though she's introverted. A big selling point for both my mother and me is that she will be able to stay in place when she needs to upgrade to assisted living services. The price is very reasonable for the services provided.
