Our Family's Experience
Rating of 5 for all categories except category 5. Dad isn't a fan of the meals/dining area but he was spoiled by my mom's home cooking. The staff appeared to go out of their way to help Dad through the difficult transition of leaving the home he lived in for over forty years. They were patient and professional, answered all our questions, and provided so many resources to help us each step of the way. Their responsiveness and professionalism continues to this day. We are so happy with our decision to chooose Beech Grove Assisted Living and Garden Homes.

Would recommend a nice community with room for improvements. I remain optimistic and looking forward to seeing..........
I can now confirm what many of my neighbors in the garden homes expressed to me as I got to know them many who have been here from 3-15 years . Many advised me that the executive director made them feel like garden home residents and their concerns were not important, and I must admit I had the same feeling after 2-3 garden homes town hall meetings, however that executive director has been replaced. The new executive director just arrived 2 months ago so again we will have to address issues and concerns that were previously presented to the former executive director and wait for feedback. Now on to your survey, all comments are based on my experiences as a Garden home resident at Beech Grove Meadows. The staff is very friendly and helpful for the most part. As a frequent visitor to people/ friends that I have come to know in the area including the Assistant Living area the cleanliness of the area has improved somewhat within the last 2-3 months . The quality of care for the assistant living area has been a big issue especially during the weekend hours which has been presented to the new executive director by several that live there and yes even by me who visits there daily. The food and menu's leave a lot to be desired at times you are not served the food that appears on the menu and yes I have had several meals in the dining room with my friends from the Assistant living area. Now on to the activities when I first moved in 9 months ago the activities person for the Garden Homes was off ill and there were no "activities " for Garden Homes residents except a bingo game every now and and then no outing's at all , after 4 months into my lease the activities person returned and I was so excited however very little has changed we only have one outing a month and that is for lunch only which is a big disappointment to me because per information given me on my on site visits to Beech Grove Meadows prior to my move in I am sorry to say has not been as I was told, that was my reason for moving here. I will keep a positive attitude however since we have new executive director and an activity person again for Garden Home residents.
Would recommend a nice community with room for improvements. I remain optimistic and looking forward to seeing improvements with the new Executive Director who just came on board.

Friendly facility
The staff seems friendly and helpful. My mother is in an independent living unit so we don't need the help of the staff often, but they do seem nice.
It would be great if they had more non-game activities.

Disappointed
Beech Grove Meadows and Garden Homes is slow to respond to maintenance issues. It took 3 months to fix a shower valve, missing backsplash and two weeks to get a trash collection can. Mom wants to look for another place to live. Turnover of helpers has been an on-going issue here. The maintenance crew it not good at following up or resolving problems. They lack basic skills. They over-promised and under-delivered which is common.

My review of Beech Grove Assisted Living
The staff is rebuilding, but is still short of ideal at this time. This especially effects housekeeping and maintenance. The nurses and CNAs are excellent - very skilled and caring. Each one of our regular caregivers takes the time to be friendly and helpful. Most go above and beyond the call of duty. Food service has several new employees, so it is improving as they become more accustomed to the job.

I thought Beech Grove was a nice facility. My family member was in independent living and made friends. Covid makes it hard to evaluate what they normally had for activities. Slow response to my calls was biggest problem. I live over 100 miles away and would have liked to reach someone at the facility easier.

I'm not very impressed with Beech Grove. They give the residents call buttons, and I don't know when they're broke so my dad was on the floor for 45 minutes and Tracy thought they should call 911 seemed to not care. Paid for meals they didn't get it one day, and she was more worried about a delivery fee. They have a hoarder next door that gets trash out of trash cans from other places bring them to his place. I believe my mom and dad have roaches and [name removed] said it was our problem to take care of but if I take care of their unit the bugs are still going to come from the other side. So no I would not recommend them to anyone. I rated at a 3 overall because it would be a nice unit if we got rid of the other issues and if they got management in facility that cared about their residence.

One Amazing Place
Beech Groves Meadows is amazing from the very top lady, [Name removed] to the very bottom. Everyone, all Nurses, [name removed] activity lady, cleaning lady, kitchen staff. I am so very, very please we choose Beech Grove Meadows. Everyone really cares and they show it everyday. I could never Thank them enough for everything they do everyday.

This facility, while owned by the same company as Rosegate, is not as well maintained. I noticed that the grounds as well as the inside of the facility look worn and tired. The price is lower here and the staff seemed equally friendly.

Overall great so far!
The only concern that I have is we have sent in some maintenance orders and they haven't fixed them.I cannot fully blame this on the community because my mother has asked that they do not enter her apartment when she is gone and she has had a lot of appointments. They could also add doorbells because she has a difficult time hearing knocks on the door. We bought her one but it would be nice if they came with one. The staff is amazing! The bus driver is a wonderful man. The manager [Removed] is great!

Good choice for parents.
Before parents even moved in they were given choices for their home. It is a small friendly community. They offer health screenings, and transportation to stores and doctors. It gives me some peace of mind that my parents are safer than if they lived on their own.

Beech Grove Assisted Living and Garden Homes is going good. The only thing is when we moved in the garbage disposal wasn't working. There were just some things that should have been done before move in. It is a nice apartment. It has brand new carpet and new paint. Overall it has definitely been a good experience with the exception of the initial move in.

Very nice place!
They do a wonderful job overall at Beech Grove Assisted living! It's a clean, well kept community, and it has a great atmosphere. It's a small, close-knit feeling community, not large and overwhelming at all! The staff are all very friendly, and take great care of their residents. They really look hard at the individual needs of each resident to make sure they are providing the appropriate and best level of care for each person. Seeing how hard they work I really trust them to take great care of my loved ones!
The only issue we've had at all has been some difficulty in communication, trouble getting in touch with specific staff members, etc. However they are working hard on that and I appreciate that they ask for feedback and involve families in the process!
