A nice place
1. i would give it a 4. 2. it is very clean so 5. 3. the residents who are with it are mostly friendly and most of the staff is also so 4. 4. my friend is in independent living so care is not a lot but i think they try so 4. 5. the director is approachable but not a lot gets done and everything is tied to corporate so all the Atrias are run the same which is not good. 6. food is weak/cheap you can tell they are not training the wait staff how to do their jobs. all Atrias order the same food so if you are in the south in summer, you get the same heavy food as people in the colder north like beef stew. the vegetables are over cooked and so is the pasta and you have to rely on fruit which is sometimes not there. i would say this one of the weakest areas and give it a 2. the only saving grace is the Bistro where you can get alternatives like nice salads and breakfasts but you are stuck for dinner. activities needs a new director. they are too childish and uninteresting no one goes 1. value for the money not sure. my friend paids over $[removed] for a big nice apartment and bad food and no activities. it is outside Philadelphia so that might make it more expensive. value-you judge.

Very disappointed
He fell and they don't do a 2 person lift up. What kind of personal care or assisted can't assist a person? They're in memory care. Very disappointed because I did a lot of time researching. Activities and food were good. No one helps anyone with eating if they leave the food and walk away don't seem to be encouraged back to the meal.

Our First Impression
My mother hasn't actually moved in yet, so I'm not sure how helpful my responses will be. Thus far, our experience with everything is a 5,. We chose the community for several reasons. At the most pragmatic, it's close to where I live. And it has the easiest access to a smoking area out, which was my mother's primary concern. More generally, the residents seemed positive and happy. Everything was very clean and the apartments are lovely and spacious. All the right safety measures are in place. I like the model of her being able to stay in the same apartment even as she begins to need more care.

Kind and interactive staff
What stands out the most is their persistence in getting my Aunt and other residents engaged in activities. I think this is a huge plus. The only negative I have is that sometimes it takes several tries/ calls/ texts or e-mails to get clarification or answers to a question.

Great countertops! Elder care?...not so much
Their personal care is like independent loving. Their memory care is like mild personal care. The place looks nice, but the care is minimal. Like everywhere else, it is woefully understaffed

Review for Atria Lafayette Hill
Service staff is good. Kitchen staff is weak in training and cooking skills. They don't know what a poached eggs is and how to cook one. Very time she asks for one of something, she gets two, etc. My friend won't eat any of the starches or vegetables because they are all over cooked. Thank heaven for the bistro for variety. At least she has access to the administration but that doesn't always get action. Many times when she asks a question, their answer is "that is the way all the Atria's do things". Activities are very weak but it may be because most of the residents are "assisted living" types and not " independent living" types who would actually do activities. The ratio between these two is out of balance and it colors a lot. Very blue collar group of people and they are afraid to say anything bad about anything for some reason. My friend is not and has been put on the resident committee. She is trying to help the situation. This place is still better than [communities removed] where she was before. Her apartment is probably the nicest in the place. If you want more info, just ask. More than [amount removed] seems expensive for what she is getting.

Amazing facility!
Everything about our experience at the Atria Lafayette Hill has been wonderful. The facility is beautiful, the apartments are well designed and lovely, but best of all is the staff. Everyone we encountered has been friendly, welcoming and kind. I can’t say enough good things about this place! We are delighted to have found it, and delighted that our mother is happy there.

Atria Lafayette Hill review
The gardens in the back along with all of the above. Food was delicious, staff was very friendly, the facility was clean and there were no unpleasant odors. I also liked having a washer and dryer right there on the floor as I would come and do my sister's laundry during a visit. I was there 2 to 3 times a week, every week. We would have dinner together. I always enjoyed it. Afterwards, I would take her out to the back garden and we would sit. Then I would wheel her around the property. My sister told me that she was content. This was a huge compliment to Atria.

Helped my mom get well
Atria had great activities and helped my mom be more engaged with other people which was helpful during a challenging time. They helped my mom eat better and exercise so she was able to move back to her house. I would definitely look to atria if she needed to go back to an assisted living facility in the future

The staff is super friendly and nice, but they have very little decision power. Also the level of care they offer is very limited by their license. They are great for low level of care, but as the needs increase, you'll be forced to look for a different facility.

Atria Lafayette Hill review
Overall Atria was very nice but in my opinion they misrepresented the level of care they offered and were unable to support many of the medical needs due to having no on staff nurse. As a result my mom was sent to the ER for what seemed like everything and they were calling me every day. Eventually we transferred her to [community name removed] in Lafayette Hill where she was supported much more. No issues with medication or emergency room visits

Tips for evaluating your community options

Safety is a primary concern when seniors and their families look for Assisted Living. To ensure that a community meets your needs and expectations, we recommend that seniors and family members:

  • Know Pennsylvania’s regulations for memory care. Each state has its own laws and inspection processes to ensure seniors reside in a safe environment. Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the communities you’re considering. Learn more about Pennsylvania’s regulations for memory care and download the Guide to Senior Living Licensure and Inspection Reports.

  • Tour the location. Touring allows you to speak to current residents and staff, and it helps you confirm the accuracy of the community description and photos. Use our touring checklist to help guide your visit.

  • Confirm the availability of required services. Before committing, make sure that the community offers all the services your loved one needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.

A Place for Mom has scored Atria Lafayette Hill 9.3 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.   We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.   Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
