I am an outside hospice agency that has been coming here for many years. I absolutely love being there. It makes me feel at home. Staffing goes way above and beyond. The building is beyond clean and well kept. Everyone is so friendly. My only complaint is that I live 60 miles away. But that doesn't mean anything because it is worth the travel.

This is by far the most clean, friendly and beautiful Care Home, I have ever seen. The staff is well trained, educated and very versatile. Very homey and welcoming. The food is homemade and prepared daily. Daily activities and amenities for the residents. Highly recommended.

Only nice things to say about this place. My brother in law Richard has been there for some time now and my wife and I have been very pleased with everything, top to bottom. The staff is very friendly, professional and always helpful. Any request we have made has been tended efficiently and effectively. The facility is nice, clean and homey. We are thrilled that we chose this community!

This place is one of the most professional establishments I have came across in a long time. The staff is amazing and the way residents are treated it’s outstanding. This community superseded my expectations one thousand times over. My auntie stayed here for a long period of time. At first I was skeptical, like all other places, I assumed was just another facility, I couldn’t be more wrong. I made frequent visits to this community and at unexpected times. The staff are not only well trained and professional, but they genuinely care for these community members. I emphasize community because that’s exactly what it is. The staff here are attentive to the needs of the residents, they are authentically sweet, and most importantly have a high standard for quality care. I was surprised to learn that the food is actually delicious; something my auntie always mentioned and a very rare trait to find in an environment like this. It’s also rare to find a place that I confidently call a community. If your loved one is in need of assistance, I highly recommend this quality establishment

This is a top notch senior community with staff who truly care about their residents wellbeing. My mom has been very please with the life enrichment/Activities department since she moved there. Highly recommend.

It's outstanding. The staff is exceptional, kind and caring. A great place for my friend[name removed] They offer personal care, housekeeping, laundry, food services medication administration and social/physical activities.

We really liked Brookdale Penn Hills. The staff were all so friendly and you could tell that they were aware of the needs of the residents there. My loved one is still pretty active and not to this point of care yet. We felt that it would be too confining for him. We did really like this facility though, especially for this type of care.

I found the staff and the residents to all be super friendly, attentive, caring and supportive. It has a very homey and welcoming atmosphere. The facility is smaller with only 20 some residents. The food that they serve is all chef prepared meals and it is good home cooking. It is a lot less expensive than the facility he was at before so the value was high here. I would definitely recommend Brookdale Penn Hills and already have to others.

The cleanliness of the community was excellent. The community is small so it really felt like my mother was getting great and personal care. All the staff were very kind and good to my mom. The activities were fine, the staff came in every day and did at least something with her. My mother loved that she could go into the dinning room whenever she liked and have coffee and engage with the other residents. It was very home-like for my mother. Her room was also very clean and there were no bad odors, everything was fresh. Definitely a very good value for the care she was receiving. We would choose Brookdale again!

Brookdale was the last facility we looked at in our search, and I was already prepared to select another place. But actually visiting Brookdale, and talking to the staff there, made them our first pick for my in-laws seeking an assisted living facility. Brookdale is small and intimate, comfortable, with hands-on and friendly staff who are available for questions almost around the clock. We like everyone there, and more importantly, so do my in-laws. The environment is small but pleasant, the food is very good, and the medical staff has a good relationship with the visiting doctor, and that helps keep my mother-in-law's various complex and fluctuating conditions under control. One final point: there's at least one resident unable to move (at least not much), and we see her out and about with the rest of the residents, rather than just sitting in bed. This speaks well of the ability and motivation to get everyone participating, rather than staying in their rooms. We're very pleased with Brookdale, and so are my mom- and dad-in-law.

Rodney knows his residents and the entire staff have been there for many years and are happy. The residents are very well cared for and the facility is clean and well managed. Small facility is perfect for the family atmosphere and interactions with everyone. A very nice place.

They always answer all my questions and if my mom can't answer her cell phone they go and help her with it. Overall I think it's good. They have sing alongs and play cards in the afternoon. They went on a field trip, I forget to where. It was offered to my mom but she decided not to go. The food is sometimes good and sometimes not. I think my mom needs to get out and do things. She's still afraid to ask to change the television channels in the main areas but that's her, it's not the facility. The staff seems to be very involved. They know everyone and are aware of where they are when you come to visit.

It was clean & employees ok. The food was terrible! Close to home.

All the staff is friendly and helpful. I can visit anytime and as much as I want. The rooms are nice. Medications are given appropriately. And meals are presented in accordance to every patients dietary needs. I also like how the residents are brought out into a community room where there is a television and they can interact. It is a locked facility for the dementia residents and there is a doctor on staff who rounds 2-3 times per week if the families choose him for their care.

We chose Brookdale @ Penn Hills for Mom because we wanted a facility that felt more like a home than an impersonalized hospital like facility where your loved one is just a number & the care is shotty.

Although I feel she got adequate care at Heritage Grove, and she was very fond of one of the girls [name removed], who spent quality one-on-one time with her, I have to admit that the atmosphere (the dining area and the "living room" area) was less than inviting. My mom's room was small and she had no place to sit except for on her bed. The "nursing home" odor was overwhelming at times. With that being said, I feel the staff do the best they can. I truly believe they are very short-staffed. The executive director, [name removed], is very professional and has been nothing but kind and helpful. [name removed], who I believe is the nursing director, is great. It seems she wears many hats and is the primary "go to" person for staff and family members.

Not a problem except for the meals. My husband is usually not fussy but was very upset with the dining facilities. Food was very inadequate & tasteless. Happy with room & help with getting heat & a recliner in it. Unfortunately not happy with the tv. Couldn’t really watch it as not connected properly.
